Top RAG Implementation Firms In 2026

Most companies that tried a chatbot on top of a general-purpose language model hit the same wall: the model sounds confident but does not know anything about their contracts, manuals, policies or research. Retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG, fixes that by having the system search your own documents first and then hand the most relevant passages to the model, so the answer is grounded in your data and can cite its sources. The RAG implementation firms below build those systems for a living, from ingestion and chunking pipelines to vector and hybrid search, evaluation and access controls.

We only included firms whose own websites show RAG-specific services or RAG case studies, not just a generic “AI development” page. Some are small specialists that build little else; others are larger engineering shops with a dedicated RAG practice. If you are still deciding whether to build a full AI product, our guide to the top AI SaaS development companies covers the broader field.

Every fact below comes from the firms’ own sites. Where a result is the firm’s own claim, we say so.

Best RAG Implementation Firms In 2026

Specialists come first, followed by larger engineering firms with dedicated RAG development services.

    1. Vstorm — Official Pydantic Implementation Partner Building Agentic RAG Systems

Vstorm is a Wrocław-based AI engineering consultancy that has been building AI systems since 2017. It is small on purpose, with 40+ people including 25+ AI engineers, and it works almost entirely on LLM applications, agents and retrieval. Its RAG practice covers consulting and reviews of existing systems, pipeline builds, integration with company systems, fine-tuning where retrieval alone is not precise enough, performance tuning and ongoing maintenance.

The stack it names is specific: LangChain, LlamaIndex and LangGraph for orchestration, Milvus, Qdrant and pgvector as vector stores, and Logfire for tracing. Vstorm describes itself as an official Pydantic implementation partner and the first AI consultancy in the Agentic AI Foundation, and its engineers contribute to Pydantic AI, LangChain and LlamaIndex. The firm says it has 30+ production deployments of RAG-based systems.

Its clearest published result is an agentic RAG system for Schmitt-Thompson Clinical Content, which turns clinical triage guidelines into steps the model follows. According to its site, accuracy rose from 44% with a raw LLM to 98% on an open 50-scenario benchmark. For ARIJ Network, Vstorm built a bilingual English and Arabic assistant that answers only from ARIJ’s own knowledge base, and the firm says the share of journalist inquiries answered went from 1% to 100%.

Best for: product and operations teams that want a hands-on specialist for agentic RAG, with evaluation numbers to show for it, and that are comfortable with a Python-first stack.

    2. deepsense.ai — Anthropic And OpenAI Service Partner Behind The ragbits Framework

deepsense.ai is a Warsaw-headquartered AI consultancy with an office in Palo Alto and, by its own count, 120 AI experts and ten years of AI work. It lists itself as both an Anthropic Service Partner and an OpenAI Services Partner, and it also names Google Cloud, AWS, Anyscale and ElevenLabs among its partners.

Its LLMs and RAG practice reads like an engineering checklist: ingestion pipelines for keeping knowledge current, vector, keyword and hybrid indexes, query rewriting, reranking, metadata filtering and contextual retrieval, answers with citations, role-based access and tenant isolation, and evaluation for retrieval quality, faithfulness, latency and cost. It also builds RAG systems that call tools, APIs and MCP servers, and combines unstructured documents with structured enterprise data.

The firm maintains ragbits, an MIT-licensed open-source framework for RAG and agent apps with ingestion for 20+ file types, plug-in support for Qdrant, Weaviate and PgVector, built-in evals and OpenTelemetry tracing. Published work includes a hybrid GenAI system for Fennemore, built with OpenAI, that joins SQL data with SharePoint content, and a RAG chatbot over technical manuals whose pilot shipped in four weeks. Unstructured’s CEO credits deepsense.ai’s work on “unstructured ETL for RAG” in a testimonial on its site.

Best for: enterprises that want a deep research-grade team, a vendor partnership with a major model lab, and the option to keep running the system on an open-source base afterward.

    3. Datavid — GraphRAG Specialist For Scientific, Pharma And Standards Content

Datavid is a London data and knowledge engineering firm whose RAG work centers on GraphRAG: connecting a language model to an enterprise knowledge graph so answers draw on entities, relationships and metadata, not just text similarity. The firm says this reduces hallucinations and supports claim-level citations and entity lineage, which matters in research and compliance settings where every answer has to be traceable.

The service spans ontology and taxonomy design, knowledge graph builds on Neo4j, RDF stores, MarkLogic, GraphDB and Neptune, hybrid retrieval that combines embeddings with graph queries, and access-controlled retrieval with governed agents. Datavid also uses its own Rover platform for enrichment, citation and provenance. It states that delivery runs under ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, and that most projects reach a working pipeline in six to eight weeks.

The named clients are large content owners. According to its site, Datavid built a cognitive search system across more than 50 million R&D documents for Syngenta, an LLM-based assistant that answers from more than 33 million scientific articles for ACS, a graph-grounded clinical knowledge platform for Roche, and an AI compliance insight engine for BSI.

Best for: life sciences, publishing and standards organizations with very large, structured document collections where explainability is a hard requirement.

    4. Enterprise Knowledge — Knowledge Management Consultancy Building Ontology-Driven Semantic RAG

Enterprise Knowledge (EK) is a knowledge management and semantic data consultancy headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. It comes to RAG from the information architecture side: taxonomies, ontologies, business glossaries and knowledge graphs, which EK describes as the core of a “semantic layer” that chatbots, search and agents can sit on. Its AI engineering team either owns the build or embeds with a client’s developers, from prototype to enterprise integration.

The firm’s published GraphRAG work shows why that matters. For a humanitarian foundation, EK built a semantic RAG proof of concept that mapped investment data to a custom ontology in a graph database, with an API layer and an explainable chatbot for executives. EK reports that it answered complex cross-document questions that earlier LLM attempts had failed on, cut query response time and let stakeholders see how each answer was derived.

A second engagement for an investment agency used semantic modeling and a graph database to align data definitions and bring research into a single access point, which EK says produced more consistent answers and set up a graph-driven second phase. Alongside the build work, EK sells AI readiness assessments and enterprise search services, which helps when the real problem is messy, untagged content.

Best for: organizations whose questions span many systems and definitions, and who need a team that will fix the knowledge model before tuning the retriever.

    5. Pureinsights — Search Engineering Firm And MongoDB 2025 Global AI SI Partner Of The Year

Pureinsights is a search and AI consultancy headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, with a European base in London and a development center in San José, Costa Rica. Its people come from enterprise search, and the site cites 25 years of experience and hundreds of search implementations. MongoDB named it Global AI SI Partner of the Year for 2025.

That background shapes its RAG work. Retrieval is usually the weak link in a RAG system, and Pureinsights offers consulting for Elasticsearch, Solr, OpenSearch, Algolia, MongoDB and vector search, plus search relevance tuning, a generative AI assessment and managed services for AI and search. Its RAG, AI search, AI assistant and chatbot offerings run on its own Discovery platform alongside client systems.

The headline case study is Mintel Leap, a generative question-and-answer product built on Mintel’s proprietary research using vector search, GPT-4 and RAG. Pureinsights built a demo on Mintel data that Mintel used to iterate on models, prompts, indexing and metadata before moving to production. Mintel’s SVP of Innovation says the approach was refined in about two weeks and that tasks that took hours now take seconds.

Best for: companies that already run a search engine and want RAG added by people who understand relevance tuning, not just prompts.

    6. Intelliarts — RAG Development Company With Source-Cited Knowledge Base Chatbots

Intelliarts is a software and data engineering firm with offices in Lviv and Warsaw and, per its site, more than 26 years in software engineering. Its dedicated RAG practice covers feasibility consulting, custom pipeline development, enterprise search and knowledge systems, RAG chatbots, cost and performance tuning, and evaluation and audits of existing systems. The tool logos it shows include LangChain, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenAI and Cohere.

Its most detailed RAG case study is a data extraction chatbot for a US nonprofit working on gun violence prevention. The system answers free-text questions from the organization’s articles and press releases with RAG, routes table questions to an LLM agent that writes and runs Python in a sandbox, cites sources so staff can check answers, stays on topic and resists prompt injection aimed at data leakage. It runs on AWS Lambda, S3 and DynamoDB with GPT-4. The firm says searches became at least three times faster.

Named work on its RAG page includes an audit agent for Valency, which Intelliarts says cut processing from five minutes to a few seconds per query, and a semantic search engine for the sourcing platform ProvenBase. The site also describes rearchitecting a client’s chatbot that had been running on a six-month-old database.

Best for: mid-sized organizations that want a practical knowledge assistant with guardrails, built by a team that publishes its RAG tech stack and results.

    7. ITRex — OpenAI Select Partner Offering Multimodal And HIPAA-Compliant RAG

ITRex is a software and AI development firm with offices in Sacramento and Warsaw. It displays an OpenAI Select Partner badge along with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications. Its RAG offer is one of the most complete on this list: RAG consulting on data readiness and MVP scope, data preparation with ingestion, chunking and governance, custom pipelines for sensitive data, semantic, hybrid and graph-based retrieval, RAG-based knowledge management and multimodal RAG across text, images, audio and video.

Testing gets its own line item. ITRex says it evaluates RAG systems with Ragas, DeepEval and custom datasets, and it supports on-premise and private cloud deployment plus integration with Salesforce and SharePoint, which matters for regulated buyers.

Published projects include a HIPAA-compliant chatbot for the Ratner Early Detection Initiative built on Claude 3.5 and delivered in three weeks, a generative AI sales training platform for a US SaaS company that the firm says cut new hire onboarding from six months to two weeks, and an assistant interface for a manufacturing execution system that it says halved operator onboarding time. ITRex also documents an internal R&D build on Gemini 2.5 Pro and Vertex AI Vector Search.

Best for: healthcare and other regulated teams that need RAG with formal evaluation, on-prem options and a vendor with model-lab credentials.

    8. N-iX — 2,400-Person Engineering Firm With A Dedicated Enterprise RAG Practice

N-iX is a large software engineering company with offices including Plantation, Florida and London, and the scale to match: its site cites 2,400+ technology professionals, including 200+ AI, ML and data experts, and more than two decades in business. Named clients on its RAG page include Siemens, eBay, Bosch, Inditex, AutoScout24 and TotalEnergies, though the page does not tie those names to specific RAG projects.

The RAG offer is built for enterprise constraints. RAG consulting starts with mapping repositories, identity models and regulatory boundaries. Architecture work combines vector search, lexical ranking and metadata filtering, pipelines use domain-aware chunking, and deployment on Azure, AWS or GCP includes identity validation and audit logging. After launch, N-iX tracks groundedness, hallucination rate, latency and cost per query, and it also builds agentic RAG with separate agents for retrieval, validation and summarization.

According to its site, results for unnamed clients include contract validation running 10 to 20 times faster and saving 2,000 hours a year, 70% automation of recurring legal and compliance queries, and a 50% reduction in routine engineering tasks through a RAG copilot. The firm lists ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 among its certifications and AWS, Microsoft, Google and Snowflake among its partners.

Best for: large enterprises that need RAG wired into existing identity, audit and cloud controls, with the headcount to staff a long program.

    9. Addepto — Agentic RAG For Engineering Documents, Diagrams And Spreadsheets

Addepto is a Warsaw AI and data consultancy that works heavily with industrial and automotive companies. Its RAG work sits under its LLM, AI knowledge base and generative AI platform services, and it backs that with two products: ContextClue for knowledge management and semantic search, and ContextCheck, an open-source tool for evaluating RAG chatbots.

Its published agentic RAG case study shows the kind of messy content it handles. For a heavy engineering manufacturer that builds engines and power systems for submarines, trains and industrial machines, Addepto built a modular platform with a parsing service that classifies about 20 kinds of visual content (Gantt charts, flowcharts, engine diagrams), a search engine that shows the exact text fragments matched, an agentic layer that breaks complex queries into steps and expands acronyms, and an Excel module that cross-references spreadsheets with PDFs.

Two design choices stand out. The model’s pre-trained knowledge is treated as inadmissible, so answers come only from retrieved content, and damage reports are stored as single chunks so the model never reasons from fragments. Everything runs on Azure OpenAI in a European data center. Addepto says employees can now query thousands of damage reports, diagrams, HR policies and financial documents in seconds.

Best for: manufacturers and engineering firms whose knowledge lives in diagrams, scanned reports and spreadsheets rather than clean text.

    10. Akveo — RAG Proofs Of Concept With Published Prices And Timelines

Akveo is a software development firm based in Austin, Texas, with offices in Warsaw and Vilnius. Its RAG page is unusually direct about money: an AI proof of concept runs four to six weeks and typically costs $15K, and a production build runs three to five months starting at $60K. It also offers AI-augmented engineers on a monthly rate for teams that want to build in-house.

Services cover RAG strategy and use-case prioritization, end-to-end architecture, enterprise knowledge bases with automated indexing and role-based access, RAG chatbots with private or on-premise deployment and audit logging, LLM integration, and retrieval design with semantic and hybrid search, ranking and context assembly.

Two case studies on the page are RAG-relevant. WealthFluent, a financial AI assistant, splits the work so the language model handles conversation while a separate calculation engine does the math, which Akveo says means the AI never invents numbers. A Factory Copilot for smart manufacturing reportedly delivered 50% faster data retrieval. Testimonials come from a PwC partner and from Erwin Hymer Group, which returned for a second engagement.

Best for: buyers who want a fixed-scope RAG pilot with a known budget before committing to a production build.

How To Choose A RAG Development Partner

Do they show RAG work, or just AI work?

Plenty of firms list “generative AI” without ever having shipped a retrieval system to production. Ask for a RAG case study that names the data sources, the chunking approach, the retrieval method and how answers were evaluated. A firm that has done the work can talk about why a given chunk size or reranker failed, not just which framework it used.

How will they measure answer quality?

Evaluation is the line between a demo and a product. Good partners build a test set of real questions with known answers from your documents, then track retrieval recall, faithfulness to sources, hallucination rate, latency and cost per query. Ask which tools they use (Ragas, DeepEval or their own harness) and who owns the test set when the project ends.

Put target numbers in the contract. “Accurate” is not an acceptance criterion; “90% of answers on the agreed test set cite the correct source document” is.

Can the system respect who is allowed to see what?

An internal assistant that surfaces HR files or board papers to the wrong employee is worse than no assistant. Ask how permissions from SharePoint, Google Drive, Confluence or your document system are carried into the index and enforced at query time, and how every answer is logged for audit.

Is your content ready, or does it need work first?

Many RAG projects fail on the source material: duplicate versions, scanned PDFs, tables split across pages and documents with no metadata. Some partners, such as those with a knowledge graph or taxonomy background, will fix the content model first; others will tune retrieval around it. Decide which you need. If your data already sits in a warehouse, a partner with data engineering depth (see our list of Snowflake consulting partners) may be part of the answer.

Plain vector search, hybrid search or GraphRAG?

Vector search alone is often enough for FAQ-style questions over clean text. Hybrid search, which adds keyword matching and reranking, usually does better with part numbers, legal terms and acronyms. GraphRAG earns its extra cost when questions require connecting facts across many documents or entities. A good RAG consulting partner will recommend the simplest approach that passes your test set, not the most impressive one.

What does it cost to run, and who runs it after launch?

Model calls, embedding refreshes and vector database hosting all add up as usage grows. Ask for a cost-per-query estimate at your expected volume and a plan for re-indexing when documents change. Then decide whether you want a managed service, a handover to your own team or something in between, and make sure the code, prompts and evaluation sets are yours either way.

    Conclusion

The RAG implementation firms on this list split into a few clear camps. Vstorm and deepsense.ai are retrieval and agent specialists with published evaluation results. Datavid and Enterprise Knowledge lead with knowledge graphs and ontologies for complex, high-stakes questions. Pureinsights brings deep search engineering. ITRex, N-iX, Intelliarts and Addepto offer full RAG development services at different scales, while Akveo makes it easy to start small with a defined pilot.

Whichever RAG development company you choose, start with a test set of real questions, agree on how answers will be measured and insist on source citations and access controls from day one.
