Most companies no longer need convincing that generative AI matters. What they need is help choosing the right use cases, picking models they can govern, getting a pilot into production and bringing their people along. That is the work generative AI consulting firms are hired to do, and the gap between a good partner and a weak one usually shows up months later, when a promising demo either becomes a working system or quietly stalls.
This list focuses on consultancies with a clear GenAI practice that covers strategy and delivery: use-case discovery, LLM selection, copilots and assistants, governance, change management and production rollout. It leans toward specialists and mid-size firms, with two large firms included for enterprises that need global scale. If you mainly need engineers to build a product, our list of top generative AI development companies is the better starting point, and teams already scoping autonomous workflows should also see our roundup of AI agent development firms for enterprise solutions.
Every firm below was checked against its own website for a GenAI-specific offering and published client work. Where a result is the firm’s own claim, we say so.

The firms are ordered by how closely their work matches GenAI consulting specifically, with focused specialists first and the largest firms last.
Tribe AI was founded in 2019 by Jaclyn Rice Nelson, a former Google and CapitalG employee, on the thesis that every company would need to become an AI company and would need outside help to get there. The firm works as a curated network, and it says it now draws on more than 600 AI engineers, many of them from companies such as Google, OpenAI and DeepMind. It lists OpenAI and Anthropic among its partners.
Its generative AI offer is built around getting a first version into users’ hands quickly. According to its site, engagements start with business discovery and stakeholder interviews, move to evaluating which large language model fits the problem, then build a working version, tune prompts through repeated test cycles and finish with a plan for full-scale rollout. That sequence is useful for teams that have a use case in mind but have not yet decided on a model or architecture.
The published case studies are concrete. Tribe says it helped Sumo Logic cut root-cause analysis on log data from hours or days to under a minute, built a recipe importer for Galley that dropped input time from up to 10 minutes to under one, and worked on conversational products for Kyruus Health and MyFitnessPal. For an unnamed global consulting firm, it reports cutting due diligence research from 7 to 10 days to under a day.
Tribe AI suits product and innovation teams, including PE-backed companies, that want senior specialists on a defined GenAI build rather than a large program office.
Neurons Lab is a London-based AI consultancy with an office in Singapore that works almost entirely in financial services: retail and corporate banking, wealth and private banking, SME banking and insurance. The company says it has completed more than one hundred AI implementations since 2019 and announced that it achieved the AWS AI Competency in the Agentic AI category.
Its services are organized into three lines: AI training and enablement for business and technical teams, custom AI agents built from discovery through production inside the client’s own infrastructure, and continuous AI delivery supported by forward-deployed engineers. Governance and auditability are built into each line, which matters in regulated environments where a model’s output may touch credit decisions or client advice.
Its HSBC case shows the consulting side clearly. With AWS, Neurons Lab ran a full-day executive program for HSBC Vietnam that trained more than 50 senior leaders, mapped use cases across corporate, wealth and private banking, set out a multi-layer AI governance framework and produced a 90-day roadmap with five defined use cases. The firm also lists an LLM-based content system for Visa that runs across more than nine markets and an assistant for relationship managers at an unnamed Asian bank that it says doubled team capacity.
Neurons Lab is a strong fit for banks, insurers and wealth managers that need leadership alignment, governance and a working pilot from the same team.
deepsense.ai is an applied AI firm headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, with an office in Palo Alto, California. It says it has completed around 200 commercial AI projects with a team of about 120 AI experts. It is listed as an OpenAI Services Partner and as an Anthropic Select Services Partner, and it also partners with Google Cloud and AWS.
Its GenAI consulting work sits under an AI advisory and adoption practice that covers use-case selection, business cases and paths to production, alongside delivery work on LLM and RAG systems, voice bots, evaluation datasets and custom Model Context Protocol servers. The team also maintains open-source tools of its own, including ragbits for agentic RAG and db-ally for structured LLM querying, which is a useful signal of engineering depth behind the advice.
One published case is especially relevant for companies rolling out off-the-shelf GenAI tools. For one of Europe’s largest software companies, deepsense.ai designed a three-layer governance model for ChatGPT Enterprise covering groups, roles, permissions and credit allocation, ran workshops for IT and security teams, delivered an administrator playbook and launched the platform on schedule for more than 1,500 users. Other named clients on its site include Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Sky, Danone, L’Oréal and Volkswagen.
deepsense.ai fits enterprises that want a governed rollout of ChatGPT Enterprise or Claude, plus custom RAG or agent work, from a team with strong research roots.
Artefact is a Paris-headquartered data and AI consultancy with about 2,500 people across 27 countries. OpenAI lists it as an Advanced Partner, and its site also names Anthropic, Google Gemini and Mistral AI among its AI platform partners. The firm says roughly half of its 2024 revenue came from AI and GenAI projects.
Its signature offer is the AI and GenAI Factory, an operating model for moving from scattered pilots to industrialized use cases. According to the company, it covers governance and ways of working, data platform readiness, front-end design to drive adoption, GenAI training and trustworthy AI, along with technical performance work on answer relevancy, latency and cost. Artefact also runs a GenAI Academy for executive and team upskilling, which makes it one of the few firms here with change management built in as a named product.
The client work is well documented. Artefact built Gaia and Elia, two GenAI products for Legrand that help customers and employees find product information, and Lumina, a knowledge tool that helps Lagardère Travel Retail respond to hundreds of tenders each year. It also deployed agentic AI across 500 Bpifrance employees with Dust and lists work for Carrefour and Nexans. The firm says it has supported more than 100 clients on GenAI and industrialized more than 150 use cases.
Artefact suits large European and multinational companies that want a repeatable GenAI operating model rather than one-off projects.
Datatonic was founded in 2013 and lists London first among offices that also include Stockholm, Nyon, Barcelona and Montreal. It is one of the most decorated Google Cloud consultancies in Europe: the company says it has won 12 Google Cloud Partner of the Year awards, including 2026 Country (UK and Ireland) and EMEA awards.
Its generative AI practice follows a clear path. A Use Case Discovery package builds a GenAI roadmap, a Generative AI Audit checks production readiness across reliability, scalability and security, and a reduced-scope proof of concept leads into production builds that follow architecture, security and CI/CD practices. After launch, Datatonic offers managed GenOps for model lifecycle management and monitoring. It also packages five GenAI agents for marketing, personalization, customer service, back office and productivity, which it says draw on more than 70 GenAI projects, and runs dedicated Gemini Enterprise programs for retail, media and financial services.
Published results include Cineverse, where Datatonic says it cut user search times by 90 percent and churn by more than 15 percent, an invoice matching solution that reduced processing costs by 70 percent for Liberty Global, and an itinerary tool for Hotelplan Suisse that draws on the expertise of more than 500 travel experts. It also lists GenAI work for Wizards of the Coast and a GenOps platform for Vodafone.
Datatonic is the natural choice for companies standardized on Google Cloud, Vertex AI or Gemini Enterprise.
Provectus is a San Francisco-headquartered AI consultancy that has been in the market since 2010 and says it has more than 400 AI builders across engineering hubs in Canada, the UK, Eastern Europe and Latin America. It is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner and part of Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network on the services track, with strategic collaboration agreements on both sides.
What sets Provectus apart is how it packages consulting. Engagements start with a one-week, fixed-fee Sprint that produces a blueprint and a baseline, move into an 8 to 14 week Enable phase for deployment and tuning, and continue with an outcome-priced Realize phase. Named programs include Cowork Activation, Blueprint Activation, agentic software development and legacy modernization. That structure gives buyers a low-risk first step and a clear decision point before committing to a larger budget.
The firm concentrates on financial services and life sciences, and its published work reflects that. For specialty insurer Convex, Provectus built a GenAI document intelligence tool that turns a 100-page risk report into a structured summary in about 10 minutes. For audit firm Johnson Lambert, it built a GenAI solution on Amazon Bedrock that the company says makes risk audit preparation nearly four times faster. It also lists a marketing intelligence platform used by PepsiCo across more than 25 brands.
Provectus fits insurers, financial firms and life sciences companies on AWS that want consulting with a defined first sprint and outcome-linked pricing.
Quantiphi was founded in 2013 and describes itself as an AI-native services company, with US offices in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Princeton and San Jose, plus teams in Canada, India, London, Amsterdam and Singapore. It won 2026 Google Partner of the Year awards in four categories, achieved the AWS Business Value Realization Competency and was named an Emerging Leader in Gartner’s 2025 emerging market quadrant for GenAI consulting and implementation services.
Its generative AI consulting is laid out in three tiers. Gen AI Onboarding is a one-week engagement with an executive briefing, use-case discovery, prototyping and hands-on labs. Gen AI Build runs 6 to 12 weeks to prove and deploy a high-impact use case. Gen AI COE is an ongoing program to institutionalize GenAI capabilities inside the enterprise. The firm addresses responsible AI risks such as hallucination, toxicity and bias, supports HIPAA, GDPR and SOC 2 requirements and lets clients deploy in their own cloud or on premises.
Quantiphi also brings its own products, including baioniq, a search and generative AI agent for enterprise knowledge, and a research group, Phi Labs, that it says has filed 86 patents. Named client work on its site includes a website chatbot for Sullivan County and Sage Transparency 2.0, a healthcare purchasing tool for the Employers’ Forum of Indiana.
Quantiphi suits organizations that want a staged path from executive briefing to a permanent GenAI center of excellence, especially on Google Cloud or AWS.
West Monroe is a Chicago-based business and technology consulting firm with offices across the US and in London and Costa Rica. Its AI practice is less about building models and more about getting value from them, which is often the harder part of a generative AI program.
The firm’s AI services span five areas: agentic transformation, AI-enabled workforce and change leadership, AI for M&A value creation, AI-native software engineering, and AI strategy and governance, which covers aligning AI spend to business goals, setting policies and controls and fixing data standards. West Monroe also uses its own Intellio asset suite, including Intellio Agent, to speed up delivery. Its focus on workforce change and M&A makes it unusual among GenAI consultancies and particularly relevant to private equity owners and their portfolio companies.
Its published client results are anonymized but specific. West Monroe says it identified more than $75 million in value through AI-driven workforce transformation for a workforce management provider, achieved 77 percent savings migrating 1,300 reports for a multi-state healthcare payer with Intellio Hopper, delivered $26 million in cost savings through AI strategy work and helped a food and beverage company build strategies projected to generate more than $100 million in value within three years.
West Monroe is a good fit for mid-market companies and PE-backed businesses that want GenAI tied to operating results, workforce plans and deal value.
Slalom is a Seattle-based business and technology consulting company with 54 offices in 12 countries. It is one of the two larger firms on this list, and its GenAI credentials are strong: it was named 2024 AWS Global GenAI Consulting Partner of the Year and 2024 AWS Global GenAI Industry Solution Partner of the Year, and it is part of the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center Partner Innovation Alliance.
Its AI practice covers the full arc of a program: business and customer value, workforce and organization, strategy and governance, trust and security, and the design, build and managed operation of copilots, intelligent assistants and agent-driven workflows. Slalom works across AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, Databricks, OpenAI, Salesforce and Snowflake, which helps companies that run more than one platform.
Named GenAI work on its site includes a guest-facing tool that guides Norwegian Cruise Line customers toward vacations, generative AI for customer activation at PUMA, faster customer responses for Jaja Finance and support for Siemens developers adopting GitHub Copilot. In a 2026 announcement, Slalom said an advisor preparation assistant it built for a wealth management firm cut prep time by up to 18 times.
Slalom suits large North American organizations that want local, on-site teams and GenAI work spread across several cloud and data platforms.
BCG X is the tech build and design unit of Boston Consulting Group, bringing together nearly 3,000 technologists, designers and entrepreneurs across 80 cities. It is the second large firm on this list, and it makes sense when generative AI is a board-level transformation question rather than a single project.
The unit combines BCG’s strategy consulting with product engineering, using proprietary AI assets to deploy predictive and generative AI at scale. It reports more than 80 patents and patents pending and over 30 technology and business partnerships, and it runs a BCG X AI Science Institute that works with universities and R&D teams. For buyers, the main advantage is that the people setting the GenAI strategy and the people building the systems sit inside the same firm.
Its published case work includes Reckitt, where a GenAI platform built with BCG X drove what the firm describes as a 60 percent efficiency boost in innovation-to-launch, and an AI scheduling platform for a Rio Tinto mining operation in Western Australia.
BCG X fits global enterprises with large budgets that want GenAI strategy, operating model redesign and product builds under one engagement. Smaller companies will usually get more attention and better value from the specialists higher on this list.
Be honest about where you are. If leadership has not agreed on priorities, start with a firm that runs discovery and executive alignment well, such as a short workshop or onboarding engagement. If you already know the use case, look for a partner that can take it from proof of concept to production without handing it off to a different team. The most common failure in GenAI consulting is a strategy deck that no one is staffed to build.
Ask for case studies that match your sector and your use case, not just general AI experience. A firm that has deployed governed assistants in banking will understand model risk and auditability in a way a retail-focused shop may not. Named clients and specific outcomes are a stronger signal than logos, and you should ask to speak with a reference whose project went into production.
Partner badges with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud or AWS are useful, since they often bring early access and escalation routes. But a firm tied to one platform may steer you toward it. Ask how the team compares models on accuracy, latency, cost and data residency for your use case, and whether it has delivered the same kind of system on more than one stack. If you are already committed to a cloud, a deep specialist on that cloud is usually the better choice.
Generative AI consultants should be able to explain how they handle access controls, data privacy, evaluation, hallucination testing and human review before you sign. Look for a concrete governance model, not a slide on responsible AI principles. In regulated industries, check that the firm has worked with your compliance requirements and can deploy inside your own cloud tenancy.
A GenAI tool that employees do not trust or use is a sunk cost. Ask what the firm does for training, role redesign and change management, and how it will measure usage and impact after go-live. Firms with academies, enablement programs or managed operations tend to stay accountable for results longer than those that leave at handover.
Prefer a small, fixed-scope first phase with a clear deliverable, such as a one-week discovery sprint or a time-boxed pilot, over a large open-ended retainer. Agree on success metrics up front and ask how ongoing model and inference costs will be estimated. Some firms now offer outcome-linked pricing for later phases, which can align incentives if the metrics are well defined.
The best generative AI consulting firms combine three things: a clear method for choosing use cases, the engineering depth to get them into production and a plan for governance and adoption once they are live. Specialists such as Tribe AI, Neurons Lab and deepsense.ai offer focused senior teams, firms like Artefact, Datatonic, Provectus and Quantiphi bring structured programs tied to specific platforms, and West Monroe, Slalom and BCG X cover broader transformation work.
Start with your industry, your cloud and how far along you are, then shortlist two or three partners and ask each for a scoped first phase. If your use case is in a regulated field like healthcare, our guide to AI for healthcare implementation companies is a useful companion to this list.
