Meta description: How to cancel Sky Sport Now on the web, App Store or Google Play, plus refunds, pass prices and what happens next.
How you cancel Sky Sport Now depends on where you pay for it: the Sky Sport Now website, your Apple account, or Google Play. Choose the wrong place and the pass keeps renewing, even after you delete the app.
This guide shows how to cancel Sky Sport Now in New Zealand on each of those channels, when the cancellation takes effect, what Sky Sport Now’s refund rules say, and what to do if you are still charged. The Sky Sport Now steps and policies come from the official Sky Sport Now Help Centre on skysportnow.co.nz. The App Store and Google Play steps come from Apple Support and Google Play Help. Prices and menus change, so check the Help Centre if something looks different on your screen.
In every case, you can keep watching until the end of the period you have paid for. Sky Sport Now does not refund unused days on a Month or Annual Pass.
Check your bank or card statement. A charge from Sky Sport Now itself means you pay on the website. A charge from Apple or Google means you subscribed through an app store, and only that store can cancel it.
The Help Centre notes that Day, Month and Annual Passes are no longer sold inside the Sky Sport Now app for Apple TV, iPhone and iPad, and that new purchases are made on the website. Older subscriptions started through Apple can still be active, though, so it is worth checking your Apple subscriptions if you have been a long term subscriber.
According to the Sky Sport Now Help Centre, the current passes are:
| Pass | Price (NZ$) | Renews? |
| Day Pass | $29.99 | No |
| Month Pass | $59.99 per month | Yes |
| Premium Month Pass | $64.99 per month | Yes |
| Sky Sport Now x Neon Bundle Pass | $69.99 per month | Yes |
| Annual Pass | $599.99 per year | Yes |
The Help Centre says the Annual Pass price rises from $549.99 to $599.99 from 29 October 2026, and that Annual Pass subscribers get a reminder 30 days before their autorenewal date. Day Passes do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel.
Because cancellation takes effect at the end of your current term, cancel any time before your next renewal date. Cancelling early does not cut off your access, so there is no advantage in waiting until the last day and some risk if you forget.
Use this method if you bought your pass on skysportnow.co.nz (the usual route for new subscribers).
Go to skysportnow.co.nz on a computer or phone browser and sign in with the email address you used to subscribe.
Open My Account and select the Subscription section. The Help Centre links straight to the Subscriptions page on the website.
Choose the pass you want to stop and click Cancel.
The Help Centre says you then complete checkout to confirm the cancellation. Make sure you reach the final confirmation screen. If you close the page early, the pass may still be set to renew.
Go back to the Subscription section and confirm the pass shows that it will end rather than renew. Keep any confirmation email.
If Apple bills you, Sky Sport Now cannot cancel the subscription for you. Use your Apple account.
Apple Support notes that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled. The Sky Sport Now Help Centre describes the same route through Settings, then Apple ID, iCloud, Media and Purchases, then Subscriptions, on the device where you made the purchase.
Apple Support says you can also manage subscriptions on the web by signing in at account.apple.com. This is handy if you subscribed on an Apple TV and would rather not navigate the TV menus.
Only the person whose Apple Account appears on the receipt can cancel. If a family member subscribed, they need to cancel it on their own account.
The Sky Sport Now app is available on the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets running Android 10 or later. If your subscription is billed by Google, cancel it in Google Play.
Google Play Help says that after you cancel, you can still use the subscription for the time you have already paid for. It also points out that uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription, which is one of the most common reasons people keep getting charged.
You can open the subscriptions page on play.google.com while signed in to the same Google account and cancel from there.
The Sky Sport Now Help Centre says cancellation takes effect at the end of the term, so you can keep watching for the rest of your pass. After that, live sport and replays stop until you buy a new pass.
Your Sky Sport Now account itself stays in place after you cancel, so you can sign back in and buy a Day Pass or Month Pass later for a big match or tournament.
According to the Help Centre, when you cancel a Month Pass or Annual Pass you will not receive a refund of the amount paid, and Sky Sport Now does not refund unused days.
If you think you were charged by mistake:
The Help Centre lists the Sky Sport Now x Neon Bundle Pass at $69.99 per month but does not publish separate cancellation steps for it. The general rule applies: you can cancel any time if you do not want your pass to renew. Cancel it from the same place you pay (usually the Sky Sport Now website), and if you only want to drop one half of the bundle, contact Sky Sport Now support first to check your options. For Neon on its own, see our guide on how to cancel Neon.
Yes. The Help Centre says you can cancel at any time on the Subscriptions page of the website. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current term.
No. Deleting the app on Android, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or a smart TV does not stop billing. You have to cancel on the website or in the app store that bills you.
Not under Sky Sport Now’s published policy, which says it does not refund unused days on a Month or Annual Pass. If you want to stop the Annual Pass renewing, cancel before your autorenewal date.
No. Day Passes do not renew automatically.
