London is Europe’s largest market for applied AI. The city combines research talent from UCL, Imperial and King’s with demand from banks, insurers, retailers, energy firms and government, and that mix has produced a strong group of consultancies that design, build and run AI systems for clients. These range from 300-person firms working with the NHS and defence to specialist teams building generative AI agents for financial services.
This list covers firms that build AI and machine learning solutions for clients, not companies selling their own AI product. We checked each against its own website for a London office address, AI or ML delivery as a core service, and named clients or projects. Where a firm publishes its founding year, team size or partner awards, we include them; where it does not, we leave them out. No company paid to be listed, and the order reflects our view of strength and fit.
The firms below fall into three broad groups. Some are large applied AI consultancies with hundreds of staff and public sector track records. Some are cloud data specialists that build machine learning on top of Google Cloud, Azure or AWS platforms. The rest are focused teams that build AI agents, automation or bespoke AI products for a particular sector. Knowing which group fits your project, and whether your data is ready, will narrow the shortlist quickly.

Satalia, which trades as NPComplete Ltd, is based at Sea Containers, 18 Upper Ground on the South Bank. It says it has delivered results for clients since 2008 and describes its work as turning business challenges into AI-powered solutions.
Satalia’s background is in optimisation and decision science, which suits logistics, scheduling and supply chain problems. Client logos on its site include Tesco, DFS, Odeon, DS Smith, Gigaclear, TechData and The Coca-Cola Company, and it has published a Waitrose case study.
Satalia suits retailers, logistics operators and utilities that need AI to make better operational decisions, such as delivery routing or workforce scheduling, rather than chatbots.
Mesh-AI is a data and AI consultancy with its London office at 100 Liverpool Street and a second base in Lisbon. It says it builds and deploys production-ready data and AI solutions at speed, and its team includes data scientists, machine learning engineers, software developers and designers.
The firm partners with AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI and Anthropic, and focuses on regulated sectors. Client logos include LSEG, Experian, National Grid, Aviva, Schroders, M&G, EDF, UK Power Networks and Travelex, with testimonials from National Grid Electricity Transmission and Travelex.
Mesh-AI is a strong fit for banks, insurers and energy companies that need AI delivered inside strict governance and cloud security requirements.
Applied Data Science Partners (ADSP) has its headquarters at Zetland House, 5 to 25 Scrutton Street in Shoreditch. It says it has worked in enterprise AI for over a decade and builds complete, bespoke AI products, from the engine to the interface users work with.
Its client logos include the European Space Agency, Johnson & Johnson, Dstl, the Ministry of Defence, Cromwell and Dexory, which points to experience with both commercial and security-sensitive work.
ADSP suits organisations that want a finished AI application, including the user interface, rather than a model handed over to an internal team.
QuantSpark is a London AI consultancy founded in 2016. Its privacy notice gives its address as 230 Blackfriars Road, SE1. Alongside analytics and data science consulting, its Labs team builds custom AI-powered software when off-the-shelf tools do not fit.
Client logos span private equity (Permira, CVC, SVP Global), retail (Argos, Marks & Spencer, Mamas & Papas), industry (Swissport, Klöckner Pentaplast), software (Mimecast, Unit4) and the public sector (FCDO, Home Office). A data science director at TDR Capital credits it with a demand forecasting project for Acqua & Sapone.
QuantSpark is a good choice for private equity firms and their portfolio companies that need AI tied directly to value creation, such as forecasting, pricing or operational efficiency.
Advancing Analytics has a London office at 25 Newman Street in Fitzrovia, with a second base in Exeter. It specialises in machine learning, data science, AI, DataOps, Microsoft Azure, data engineering and Python, and says it builds production-ready data intelligence platforms, applications and AI agents.
Clients shown on its site include WPP, Pret, The Hershey Company, Ageas, Quilter, PureGym and 1st Central, with testimonials from WPA and Embla Medical.
Advancing Analytics suits organisations on Microsoft and lakehouse stacks that need the data engineering foundations fixed before AI can run reliably in production.
Neurons Lab is registered in England and Wales and based at International House, 64 Nile Street, N1. It focuses on AI for financial services and builds custom AI agents that run inside clients’ own infrastructure.

Clients named on its AI site include ITV, Zurich, Bupa and SageOne, and it mentions work connected to the Premier League and FA through its Pro Coach service.
Kyan is a sensible starting point for mid-sized businesses that want practical automation of workflows and back-office tasks without hiring a large consultancy.
Most AI projects stall on data quality, not models. If your data sits in disconnected systems, choose a partner that does data engineering as well as AI, such as Datatonic, Advancing Analytics or Mesh-AI, and budget for that foundation work first.
Ask how many projects reached production, how models are monitored after launch and who owns ongoing maintenance. A strong partner will discuss MLOps, evaluation and cost of running the system, not just the demo.
Firms often specialise in one ecosystem: Google Cloud, Azure or AWS, and specific model providers. Picking a partner aligned with your existing stack reduces integration cost and security review time.
Regulated sectors need clear answers on data residency, model explainability, bias testing and human oversight. Ask for examples of work that passed internal risk or regulator review.
Forecasting, optimisation, document processing and generative AI agents call for different skills. Ask for a case study close to your use case and a client reference you can contact.
London’s AI development market is broad and deep. Faculty and Datatonic lead on scale and track record, Satalia and Mesh-AI bring strong enterprise and regulated sector experience, and ADSP, QuantSpark and Advancing Analytics combine data science with production engineering. Neurons Lab, Softwire and Kyan offer focused options for financial services, public sector and automation projects.
