    Best BitPay Alternatives In 2026

The best BitPay alternatives cost less on small and mid-size volume, accept and settle in more assets, and onboard merchants in more regions. Which one fits depends on whether you care most about fees, coin coverage, fiat settlement or control of your own keys.

We compared each crypto payment gateway against BitPay on five points: coins and chains supported, published fees, settlement currencies, onboarding friction and regional availability. We used each provider’s own website and documentation, and where a fee or licence is not published we say so. BitPay itself is not ranked.

If you are new to taking crypto, our guide to accepting crypto payments as a business explains the basic options first. If you want to resell a branded checkout to your own clients, see our list of the best white label payment gateway providers.

    Why Merchants Look Beyond BitPay

BitPay has a long record. It was founded in 2011, holds a New York BitLicense from the Department of Financial Services, and processes payments through BitPay Inc. and BitPay B.V. Its invoices accept more than 100 coins and tokens and work with over 100 wallets, and merchants can settle in seven local currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD and MXN), in a list of cryptocurrencies and tokens, or a mix of both.

The reasons merchants look at alternatives to BitPay are mostly about fit. Its published pricing is 2% plus 25 cents per transaction under $500,000 in monthly volume, 1.5% plus 25 cents up to $1 million and 1% plus 25 cents above that, with higher fees for high-risk industries. Smaller merchants often want a lower flat rate, settlement in more assets or more fiat currencies, a provider licensed in their own region, or a self-hosted option with no processor at all.

    Best BitPay Alternatives In 2026

    1. NOWPayments — 300+ Coins With Auto-Conversion And Mass Payouts

NOWPayments was launched in 2019 by the team behind ChangeNOW. It is operated by FD Transfers LLC, registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with a postal address in Tallinn, Estonia. Its homepage advertises 300+ cryptocurrencies for payments, which is the broadest coverage on this list and the main reason merchants leaving BitPay shortlist it.

Payments can be converted automatically into a coin of your choice, so you can accept a long tail of assets and still hold one settlement asset. The same account covers custody, recurring billing, mass payouts and a payouts product run with ChangeNOW. Integration is by API, plugins or hosted invoices, and a separate sandbox account lets you test before switching traffic over.

    What stands out:

    • 300+ accepted coins according to NOWPayments
    • Auto-conversion to one settlement coin
    • Mass payouts and recurring billing in one account

Best for: Merchants whose customers pay in many different coins and tokens.

Pricing: From 1% per payment, with discounts at higher monthly volume; blockchain network fees are extra.

    2. CoinGate — MiCA-Authorized Gateway Settling In EUR, USD Or Stablecoins

CoinGate is operated by UAB Decentralized in Lithuania and says it has processed over 7 million payments since 2014. It holds a MiCA crypto-asset service provider authorization and a payment institution licence from the Bank of Lithuania, which makes it one of the clearest regulatory choices for European merchants moving off BitPay.

Merchants accept coins including BTC, ETH, LTC, USDC, EURC, SOL and XRP across networks such as Lightning, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism, and settle in EUR, USD, stablecoins or crypto. Plugins cover WooCommerce, WHMCS, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Wix and Magento 2. Payouts reach 180+ countries manually, by CSV or by API. Live accounts require merchant verification, but a free testnet sandbox needs none, so you can build first and onboard in parallel.

    What stands out:

    • MiCA authorization from the Bank of Lithuania
    • EUR, USD and stablecoin settlement
    • Sandbox available before verification

Best for: European businesses that need a regulated provider and fiat settlement in EUR.

Pricing: From 1% per payment according to CoinGate.

    3. PassimPay — Flat 0.5% Fee, 74+ Coins And SEPA Settlement In EUR

PassimPay is a B2B crypto payment gateway founded in 2022 and operated by PASSIMPAY GLOBAL sp. z o.o. in Poland; its site also lists NilesPay Finance Inc., a FINTRAC-registered money services business in Vancouver. It accepts 74+ cryptocurrencies, which is a wider set than many merchants use today, and can convert incoming payments to stablecoins automatically on a schedule.

On fees it is one of the simplest BitPay alternatives: a flat 0.5% on accepted payments, with no per-transaction surcharge, free registration and no holdbacks. Legal entities can exchange crypto to EUR and settle over SEPA. Integration runs through a REST API, hosted invoices, payment links, static wallet addresses and plugins for WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento, OpenCart, Shopify, WHMCS and others. Mass payouts are available by API. Onboarding includes KYC/AML verification, and each client gets a dedicated account manager.

    What stands out:

    • Flat 0.5% fee with no fixed per-transaction charge
    • Crypto-to-EUR settlement over SEPA for companies
    • Dedicated account manager for every client

Best for: Small and mid-size businesses that want a lower, predictable rate and a named contact during migration.

Pricing: 0.5% on accepted payments; automatic conversion is 0.2%. Registration and account maintenance are free.

    4. BTCPay Server — Free Self-Hosted Processor With A BitPay-Compatible API

BTCPay Server is free, open source software under the MIT License. You host it yourself or use a shared host, and payments go directly into your own wallet, so there is no processor holding funds and no account approval. It supports Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, with altcoins available through a separate community-maintained build.

For merchants leaving BitPay, the key detail is that BTCPay keeps a Legacy API compatible with BitPay’s, which makes migrating existing integration code much easier. It also has a modern Greenfield API, built-in point of sale, payment links, crowdfunding pages and invoice exports, and integrations with WooCommerce, Shopify, OpenCart and Magento. The tradeoff is that you run the server and handle fiat conversion yourself.

    What stands out:

    • 0% processing fees and no third-party custody
    • Legacy API compatible with BitPay’s
    • No onboarding or regional approval

Best for: Bitcoin-focused merchants with technical staff who want to own the whole stack.

Pricing: Free; you pay only for hosting.

    5. B2BinPay — Volume-Tiered Fees From 0.25% And No Rolling Reserve

B2BinPay is a crypto payment gateway led by founder and CEO Arthur Azizov. It is registered as a digital asset service provider in El Salvador and with the Mauritius Financial Services Commission. The company claims support for 350+ digital currencies and USDT across nine blockchains.

Its pricing is the main contrast with BitPay. Incoming payment processing runs from 0.40% down to 0.25% for merchants above $5 million in volume, outgoing crypto processing is free, and there is no rolling reserve. Transactions settle to merchant accounts and wallets, with crypto-to-fiat payouts available. A testnet sandbox with no fees lets your developers test payouts and invoices before you commit.

    What stands out:

    • Incoming fees between 0.25% and 0.40%
    • No rolling reserve
    • Free testnet sandbox

Best for: Businesses with large monthly volume that want rates well under BitPay’s top tier.

Pricing: 0.25% to 0.40% on incoming payments depending on volume; outgoing crypto processing is free.

    6. Triple-A — Licensed In Singapore, France, US And Canada

Triple-A was incorporated in Singapore in 2020 and holds a Major Payment Institution licence from MAS. Its EU entity, Paytop SAS, is licensed in France as a payment institution and crypto-asset service provider, and it is registered with FinCEN in the US and FINTRAC in Canada, where it is also a registered payment service provider with the Bank of Canada.

Merchants can settle in stablecoins or local currency, and payouts cover 30+ local currencies across 70+ countries. Triple-A says it operates in 120+ countries. For merchants whose main reason for leaving BitPay is regional coverage or a licensed counterparty outside the US, it is the strongest regulatory profile on this list.

    What stands out:

    • Licences across Asia, Europe and North America
    • Settlement in stablecoins or local currency
    • Local payouts in 30+ currencies

Best for: Regulated merchants and platforms operating in several regions.

    Pricing: Custom pricing, not published.

    7. CoinPayments — Multi-Coin Gateway Running Since 2013 With 40+ Coins

CoinPayments has served merchants since 2013 and claims more than 250,000 of them worldwide. Its custodial wallet and virtual asset services are provided by PaidInSatoshi Inc. in Panama and Centauri Pay LLC in Jersey City, New Jersey. It accepts 40+ cryptocurrencies for payments.

It offers pre-built e-commerce plugins, point-of-sale and accounting integrations, a Telegram payment bot, fixed-rate invoicing and batched withdrawals that it says can cut withdrawal fees by up to 90%. Crypto can be converted to fiat for bank payout where supported. Check its restricted jurisdictions list before you apply, since availability varies by country.

    What stands out:

    • Over a decade of operation
    • Fixed-rate invoices and batched withdrawals
    • Plugins plus POS and accounting integrations

Best for: Merchants that want broad plugin support and crypto settlement.

Pricing: Processing fees are discounted by monthly volume; exact rates are not published on the main pages.

    8. Coinbase Business — USDC Checkouts Settling In Seconds, US And Singapore Only

Coinbase Business is Coinbase’s merchant account. It replaced the older Coinbase Commerce product, which closed for merchants outside the US and Singapore on March 31, 2026, and it is currently available only in those two markets. Customers pay in USDC from Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Optimism, Avalanche or Arbitrum, or USDT on Ethereum where supported.

Funds arrive in the Coinbase Business account in USDC within seconds, 24/7, and stablecoin payments are final with no chargebacks. Merchants can use plugins, no-code payment links and invoices, or the Checkouts API. Coverage is narrow by design, focused on stablecoins, so it suits merchants who mainly want dollar-denominated payments from a large brand.

    What stands out:

    • Settlement in USDC within seconds
    • No chargebacks on stablecoin payments
    • Payment links, invoices and a Checkouts API

Best for: US and Singapore businesses that only need stablecoin payments.

Pricing: A fee applies to each completed payment and is shown in the account; converting USDC to USD carries a separate fee.

    9. BVNK — Enterprise Stablecoin Payments Settled In Fiat

BVNK is a London-based stablecoin payments company with a registered address on Farringdon Road. It cites 40+ licences and registrations, including e-money institution licences in the UK (FCA) and Malta, crypto-asset service provider registrations in Europe and money transmitter licences in the US.

Its receive product lets enterprises accept stablecoin or crypto payments and settle in fiat or crypto, with fiat and stablecoin accounts, real-time conversion, global payouts and card issuing in the same platform. It is built for larger businesses rather than small stores, and both sandbox and production portals are available.

    What stands out:

    • UK and Malta e-money licences
    • Fiat settlement from stablecoin payments
    • Accounts, conversion and payouts in one API

Best for: Enterprises and payment platforms moving meaningful stablecoin volume.

    Pricing: Custom pricing, not published.

    10. OpenNode — Bitcoin And Lightning Processor With Free Conversion

OpenNode is a bitcoin payment processor that says it serves 120+ countries. It is bitcoin only, which is narrower than BitPay, but it treats Lightning as a first-class rail: each charge offers both a Lightning invoice and an on-chain address.

Conversion to fiat is free, and merchants receive the requested amount minus processing fees. Scheduled on-chain payouts and Lightning payouts are free, while on-demand on-chain payouts cost 1%. It offers hosted checkout, payment buttons, in-person payments and billing.

    What stands out:

    • Lightning and on-chain options on every charge
    • Free conversion to fiat
    • Free Lightning payouts

Best for: Bitcoin-only merchants that want fast, low-cost Lightning payments.

Pricing: Processing rates are not published on the pricing page; higher fees apply to high-risk businesses.

How To Choose A BitPay Alternative

Which Coins And Chains Do Your Customers Use?

Look at your actual payment data. If most customers pay in stablecoins, a focused option like Coinbase Business or BVNK may be enough. If you see a long tail of coins, NOWPayments, B2BinPay or PassimPay cover far more assets. Check networks too, since USDT on Tron and USDT on Ethereum carry very different network fees for your customers.

What Will You Really Pay Per Transaction?

Model fees on your own order sizes. BitPay’s 25 cent fixed fee weighs heavily on small orders, so a flat percentage such as PassimPay’s 0.5% or B2BinPay’s tiered 0.25% to 0.40% can change your margins. Include conversion fees, payout fees and network fees, not only the headline processing rate.

Which Currency Do You Want To Settle In?

Decide whether you want crypto, stablecoins or fiat in your bank account. CoinGate settles in EUR, USD or stablecoins, PassimPay offers EUR over SEPA for companies, and Triple-A settles in local currencies. If you want to hold bitcoin directly, BTCPay Server sends it straight to your wallet.

How Much Onboarding Friction Can You Accept?

Regulated gateways require business verification before going live. A sandbox that works before approval, like CoinGate’s or B2BinPay’s, lets your developers build while compliance runs. BTCPay Server needs no approval at all, but you take on hosting.

Is The Crypto Payment Gateway Available In Your Region?

Availability is often the deciding factor. Coinbase Business serves only the US and Singapore, CoinPayments publishes a restricted jurisdictions list, and licences vary widely. Match the provider’s licences to where your company is registered and where your customers are.

How Hard Is The Migration From BitPay?

List every place BitPay touches your stack: checkout plugins, invoice webhooks, refunds and accounting exports. Gateways with plugins for your platform cut migration time, and BTCPay Server’s BitPay-compatible legacy API can make code changes smaller. Run both providers in parallel for a short period before you switch fully.

    Conclusion

There is no single best BitPay alternative. NOWPayments leads on coin coverage, CoinGate on European regulation and EUR settlement, PassimPay on a flat low fee with an account manager, and BTCPay Server on cost and control. B2BinPay suits high volume, Triple-A and BVNK suit regulated multi-region businesses, and Coinbase Business, CoinPayments and OpenNode cover narrower needs.

Start with your own data: the coins your customers use, your average order size and where you need to settle. Then test two or three of these alternatives to BitPay in sandbox before you move live traffic.
