The best Shopify apps in 2026 are the ones that fix a specific gap in your store without slowing it down or adding a bill you cannot justify. For most store owners that means a short stack: one email and SMS tool, one reviews app, a loyalty program, an upsell or bundle tool, a search app once the catalog grows, a shipping tool, and something to tell you what is actually working. Everything else is optional.
The short answer: start with Klaviyo for email and SMS, Judge.me for reviews, Smile for loyalty and TinySEO for SEO and image housekeeping. All four have a free entry plan. Add ReConvert or Fast Bundle when you want to lift order value, PageFly when your theme cannot build the landing pages you need, Recharge if you sell anything on a repeat schedule, and ShipStation, Gorgias, Boost and Triple Whale as volume justifies them.
We checked every app below on its Shopify App Store listing and its own website in October 2026. Prices, ratings and review counts are as listed at the time of writing and change often, so confirm on the listing before you install. Where the listing showed the Built for Shopify badge (Shopify’s mark for apps that meet its highest standards for performance, design and integration), we say so. For agencies that can set these tools up for you, the ReVerb Shopify hub collects every Shopify list we publish.

Klaviyo is the default email and SMS platform for a large share of Shopify brands, and the listing explains why: it syncs Shopify tags, catalog data and coupons, then lets you build segments and automated flows from real purchase behavior. Klaviyo says it powers more than 205,000 brands across 100 countries and connects to 350+ pre-built apps and integrations.
The free plan covers email for up to 250 contacts and up to 150 SMS/MMS credits, and it already includes templates, sign-up forms, segmentation, personalization and A/B testing. Paid email starts at $20 a month for 251 to 500 contacts, and SMS starts at $15 a month with up to 1,250 credits, at the time of writing. Klaviyo bills some charges outside your Shopify invoice.
Recent additions on the listing include an AI campaign builder called Composer, AI-powered segments and flow triggers, WhatsApp and mobile push alongside email and SMS, and a Customer Agent aimed at service-driven sales.
Best for: any store that wants welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment and post-purchase flows running from day one. Watch-out: pricing scales with contacts, so prune unengaged subscribers regularly. If you are deciding between platforms, our Omnisend vs Klaviyo comparison covers the main alternative.
Judge.me is the most-reviewed app on the Shopify App Store, with a 5.0 rating from more than 48,000 reviews when we checked, and its listing carries the Built for Shopify badge. Judge.me says more than 771,000 Shopify stores use it.
The free plan is unusually generous: unlimited product and store reviews, unlimited photo and video reviews, the review widget and star rating badge, carousels, Google reviews sync and rich snippets, plus importers for AliExpress and other platforms. The single paid plan, Awesome, is $15 a month at the time of writing and comes with a 15-day trial.
Paid features include automated review requests by email, SMS and push, coupons and referrals tied to reviews, and syndication of reviews to Google, Meta and the Shop app. It also imports reviews from Yotpo, Loox, Amazon and Etsy, which makes switching low risk.
Best for: almost every store, from first sale to mid-market. Watch-out: with roughly 16 widget types, it is easy to clutter product pages. Pick one review block and one star rating placement and keep the rest off.
Recharge is the subscription platform most Shopify replenishment brands end up on. The company says it powers 71% of subscriptions sold on Shopify stores, serves 20,000+ brands and more than 100 million subscribers. Its listing shows a 4.8 rating from about 3,100 reviews.
There is no free plan. At the time of writing, the entry plan is $25 a month and includes the Starter feature set with no transaction fees for your first 50 subscribers. Starter is $99 a month plus 1.49% + 19 cents per transaction, and Plus is $499 a month plus 1.34% + 19 cents. The listing also mentions a 60-day free trial.
What you get: a no-code customer portal where subscribers can skip, swap or reschedule orders, churn prevention flows that catch cancellations and recover failed payments, customer-built and curated subscription bundles, loyalty credits and retention analytics benchmarked against other brands.
Best for: coffee, supplements, pet food, skincare and any product people reorder. Watch-out: the per-transaction fee adds up at volume, so model it against your subscriber count before upgrading tiers.
ReConvert (the developer now trades as Upsell.com, and reconvert.io redirects there) built its reputation on thank you page and post-purchase upsells, and has since expanded into product page, cart and checkout offers. The listing shows a 4.8 rating from about 3,100 reviews, and the company says it works with 40,000+ Shopify brands.
On the Shopify listing, the free plan covers up to 50 orders or $50 in upsell revenue and includes A/B testing, the full upsell funnel and AI product recommendations. Growth is $9.99 a month for up to 2,000 monthly orders, with Scale and Elite tiers above that for larger stores, each with a 14-day trial. Upsell.com’s own site describes a different structure (a $4.99 base plus usage), so check the listing at install time.
Checkout upsells require Shopify Plus, which is a Shopify rule rather than an app limitation. The app integrates with Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, Loox and Rebuy.
Best for: stores that want extra order value from customers who have already paid, without touching the checkout. Watch-out: offers that feel unrelated to the original purchase hurt trust, so start with consumables, accessories and refills.
Once a catalog passes a few hundred products, the default theme search and collection filtering start to cost sales. Boost AI Search & Filter from Boost Commerce adds typo-tolerant instant search, filters by tag, metafield and variant, and merchandising controls to pin, boost or reorder products. Boost says more than 14,000 Shopify brands use it, and the listing shows a 4.7 rating from about 1,600 reviews.
There is no free plan, but every paid plan has a 21-day trial. At the time of writing, Launch runs $29 to $159 a month for stores under $50K monthly online GMV, Convert runs $299 to $599, and Accelerate runs $699 to $1,499 for stores under $2.5M GMV.
Plan-dependent extras include custom filter trees, merchandising campaigns, AI bundles and recommendations, back-in-stock notifications, and multi-language and multi-currency support.
Best for: fashion, parts, beauty and home stores with many variants. Watch-out: if your catalog is small, try Shopify’s own free Search & Discovery app first. It handles filters, synonyms, boosts and product recommendations at no cost, though its listing rating is low (2.6 when we checked) and it has fewer controls.
Smile is the loyalty app most small and mid-sized Shopify stores start with. Its listing carries the Built for Shopify badge and shows a 4.9 rating from about 4,600 reviews, and Smile lists SOC 2 Type II compliance on its site.
The free plan supports points, rewards and referrals for up to 200 monthly orders, with 15+ ways to earn and redeem, full branding control, support for 20+ languages and Shopify POS compatibility. At the time of writing, Essential is $15 a month for up to 500 orders, Standard is $79 for up to 1,000, and Growth is $199 for 2,500 orders plus $20 per additional 100. Paid plans include a 14-day trial.
Higher tiers add VIP tiers, bonus events such as double points weekends, loyalty displays on product pages and at checkout, and a Loyalty Hub for signed-in members. It integrates with Klaviyo, Judge.me and Gorgias.
Best for: stores with a repeat purchase cycle of a few months or less. Watch-out: a loyalty program cannot fix a product people buy once. Check your repeat rate before you invest in VIP tiers.
TinySEO (formerly TinyIMG; tiny-img.com now redirects to tinyseo.com) handles the repetitive SEO jobs most stores never get around to: compressing and resizing images, writing ALT text and file names in bulk, lazy loading, minifying JS and CSS, fixing broken links with 301 redirects, adding JSON-LD schema and generating an LLMs.txt file. Its listing carries the Built for Shopify badge and a 5.0 rating from about 2,500 reviews, and the company says 60,000+ merchants use it.
The pay as you go plan is free to install with 50 image optimizations a month and extra images at 3 cents each, and it already includes ALT text and file name optimization, the site audit and 30-day image backup. At the time of writing, Beginner is $14 a month, Advanced $23 and Expert $49, with progressively larger image allowances.
Other features include AI product titles and descriptions, an AI blog builder, HTML sitemaps and IndexNow submission for faster recrawls on Bing and other supporting engines.
Best for: stores with heavy product photography and no in-house SEO. Watch-out: an app cannot fix thin content or weak category structure. Pair it with our Shopify SEO checklist, and if you would rather hand the work off, see the top Shopify SEO agencies in 2026.
ShipStation pulls orders from Shopify and other channels (Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop and more) into one dashboard where you compare carrier rates, print labels in bulk, automate routing rules and manage returns. ShipStation says it connects to 200+ parcel carriers including USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL Express. The listing shows a 4.2 rating from about 700 reviews.
There is no free plan, but each plan has a 30-day trial. On the Shopify listing at the time of writing, Starter is $14.99 a month with 3 users and unlimited store connections, Standard is $29.99 with 10 users, unlimited automations, bring-your-own carrier accounts, returns and exchanges, and phone support, and Premium is $349.99 with inventory management and a dedicated account manager. Pricing also varies by monthly shipment volume.
Best for: stores shipping from their own warehouse or garage across more than one sales channel. Watch-out: if you are about to outsource fulfillment, check whether your 3PL already provides labels and tracking. Our Shopify 3PL and fulfillment partners list helps with that decision.
PageFly lets you build landing pages, product pages, collection pages and individual sections without touching theme code. It says 230,000+ Shopify merchants use it, and its listing shows a 4.9 rating from about 5,900 reviews.
The free plan includes one published page or section, 10 AI credits a month, 320+ templates and 24/7 live chat. At the time of writing, Builder is $24 a month for 5 published pages or sections, Accelerate is $99 a month (or $990 a year) for unlimited pages with A/B testing, heatmaps, an AEO optimizer and Markets localization in beta, and Enterprise is $299 a month.
The AI tools generate draft pages and sections from a text prompt, and an AI Page Checkup audits existing pages. PageFly also works inside Shopify Sidekick for finding templates and listing pages.
Best for: campaign landing pages and hero product pages your theme cannot lay out. Watch-out: every page builder adds code, so run a speed test before and after.
Gorgias puts email, chat, social, SMS and voice into one inbox, with Shopify order details beside every ticket so agents can refund, edit or reship without switching tabs. Gorgias says it serves more than 17,000 ecommerce brands, and its listing shows a 4.3 rating from about 700 reviews.
There is no free plan; paid plans include a 7-day trial. At the time of writing, Starter is $10 a month for 3 agents and 50 tickets, Basic is $60 a month for unlimited agents and 300 tickets, Pro is $360 for 2,000 tickets and Advanced is $900 for 5,000 tickets. Extra tickets are billed on top, and automation is an add-on.
The AI Agent can resolve tickets end to end, and an AI Shopping Assistant recommends products in chat. Gorgias integrates with Shopify, Klaviyo, Recharge and Yotpo among others.
Best for: brands handling enough tickets that copy and paste from the Shopify admin has become a job in itself. Watch-out: pricing is per ticket, not per seat, so automation and good order status pages directly lower your bill.
Triple Whale combines a tracking pixel, attribution models, marketing mix modeling and dashboards so you can see which ads and channels actually drive Shopify revenue. The company says it is trusted by 65,000+ brands. Its listing shows a 4.0 rating from 91 reviews, which is a smaller sample than most apps here.
The free plan includes 10 users, integrations with ad, email and SMS platforms and Amazon, a 12-month lookback, first and last click attribution, a standard post-purchase survey, the Triple Pixel and AI visibility insights for ChatGPT. At the time of writing, Foundation is $219 a month and adds multi-touch attribution, cohort analysis, custom dashboards and an SQL editor, and Automate is $749 a month.
Its AI assistant, Moby, answers questions about your data and can act inside ad accounts on higher plans.
Best for: brands spending meaningfully on Meta, Google or TikTok ads. Watch-out: attribution tools disagree with each other and with ad platforms. Pick one source of truth and use it consistently. Our Shopify PPC agencies list covers teams that can run it for you.
Fast Bundle (listed as FBP | Fast Bundle & Upsell App) covers every common bundle type: fixed bundles, mix and match, BOGO, buy X get Y, free gifts, build-a-box and volume discounts, plus AI-powered frequently bought together offers. Fixed bundles sell as a single product with inventory synced to the components. The listing shows a 5.0 rating from about 3,500 reviews, and the company says 22,400+ merchants use it.
The free plan is for development stores only. At the time of writing, paid plans are priced by monthly bundle sales: $19 a month covers up to $1,000, $49 up to $3,000 and $139 up to $10,000, each with a 7-day trial and annual discounts. Auto bundle detection is a $49 a month add-on.
It works with Shopify Checkout and POS and with several page builders and cart drawer apps, and it includes A/B testing for offers.
Best for: stores whose products are naturally used together, such as skincare routines, gift sets and accessories. Watch-out: because pricing scales with bundle revenue, compare the cost against a flat-fee bundle tool if bundles become a large share of sales.
Most store owners do not need more apps. They need the right ones installed in the right order. These questions will keep your stack lean.
Install an app because a number is wrong: repeat purchase rate too low, average order value flat, support tickets piling up, product pages without reviews. If you cannot name the number the app should move, skip it for now. Write down the baseline before you install so you can judge it after 30 days.
Apps that load scripts on the storefront can slow pages down. Shopify’s own documentation notes that each feature you add can affect web performance. Prefer apps with the Built for Shopify badge, which signals they meet Shopify’s performance standards, and run a speed test before and after each install. If speed is already a problem, the Shopify speed optimization services list can help you audit what is already installed.
Many apps price on contacts, orders, tickets or app-driven revenue rather than a flat fee. Model what you would pay at double your current volume. A $15 app that becomes $199 at the next tier may still be worth it, but you should know in advance. Also check whether charges appear on your Shopify invoice or are billed separately by the developer.
The apps in this list integrate with each other in useful ways: Smile and Judge.me feed data into Klaviyo, Gorgias shows Recharge subscription details, and ReConvert triggers Shopify Flow. Check the integrations section of each listing before you install, and avoid two apps that do the same job, such as two review tools or two upsell tools fighting over the same page.
Some apps add code to your theme that stays after you uninstall. Before installing, check whether the app uses theme app extensions (which remove cleanly) and whether you can export your data, such as reviews, loyalty balances or subscriber lists. Review apps like Judge.me include importers, which tells you migration between tools is common and supported.
A new store usually needs only three or four apps: an email and SMS tool such as Klaviyo, a reviews app such as Judge.me, an SEO and image tool such as TinySEO, and possibly a loyalty app such as Smile once you have repeat customers. All four have free entry plans, so a new store can run this stack for nothing until it grows.
There is no fixed number, but every storefront app adds code and every paid app adds a bill. Many healthy stores run fewer than 15 apps. Audit your app list every quarter and uninstall anything you have not used in 60 days.
Built for Shopify is a badge Shopify gives to apps that, in the words of the App Store listing, meet its highest standards for performance, design and integration. In this list, Judge.me, Smile and TinySEO showed the badge on their listings when we checked. It is a useful signal but not the only one, and plenty of strong apps do not carry it.
For direct sales lift, the most reliable categories are email and SMS automation (Klaviyo), reviews on product pages (Judge.me), post-purchase upsells (ReConvert) and bundles (Fast Bundle). For larger catalogs, better search and filtering (Boost) often lifts conversion more than any upsell tool.
Most apps on this list install in minutes without help. Agencies earn their fee on the configuration: building email flows, structuring loyalty tiers, setting up subscriptions and tuning search. If that is where you are, the top Shopify experts to hire in 2026 list is a good place to start.
The best Shopify apps are the ones you will actually configure and measure. Start with the free plans of Klaviyo, Judge.me, Smile and TinySEO, then add upsells, bundles, subscriptions, search, shipping, support and analytics as each one solves a problem you can see in your numbers. Check prices on the Shopify App Store listing before you install, since plans change often, and keep your stack small enough that you know what every app is doing.
