Shopify Plus pricing in 2026 starts at $2,500 a month on a one-year term, or $2,300 a month on a three-year term, in the US. That is the published base platform fee. Larger or more complex businesses can be moved to a variable platform fee tied to revenue, and Shopify does not publish that rate. On top of the platform fee you pay card processing, which on Shopify Payments starts at 2.25% plus 30 cents for US online cards, or a 0.20% Shopify fee plus your own processor’s charges if you use a third-party gateway.
The license is only part of the bill. Apps, an agency build, migration, payment fees and any ongoing development usually add more in year one than the platform fee itself. This guide walks through each line item using Shopify’s own Shopify Plus pricing page and Plus plan help center article as checked in October 2026, then shows how to decide whether Plus is worth it for your business.
If you are still comparing plans, our Shopify vs Shopify Plus guide covers the feature differences in depth, and the ReVerb Shopify hub lists every Shopify agency and service roundup we publish.
Here is what Shopify publishes for Plus at the time of writing.
| Item | Published Price | Source |
| Platform fee, 1-year term | $2,500/mo (USD) | Shopify Plus pricing page |
| Platform fee, 3-year term | $2,300/mo (USD) | Shopify Plus pricing page |
| Variable platform fee | Based on revenue and business model, rate not published | Shopify Plus pricing page and help center |
| Expansion stores | Main store plus 9 expansion stores included; extra stores $300/mo each or a revenue share | Shopify Plus pricing page |
| Shopify Payments, US online card | From 2.25% + 30¢ | Shopify pricing page |
| Shopify Payments, US online premium card | 2.95% + 30¢ | Shopify pricing page |
| Shopify Payments, US in-person card | 2.3% + 10¢ | Shopify pricing page |
| Third-party gateway fee | 0.20% per transaction, plus processor fees | Shopify Plus pricing page |
| POS Pro | First 20 locations included; up to 200 with Shopify Payments | Shopify help center |
| Migration by Shopify | No charge from Shopify; paid services available | Shopify Plus pricing page |
Shopify also lists a “Starts at $2,300” headline on its main pricing page. That number is the three-year rate. The one-year rate is $2,500.
Plus is sold on contract. Shopify’s help center lists the US price at $2,500 a month on a one-year term and $2,300 a month on a three-year term. Over three years, the longer term saves $7,200 ($200 a month times 36 months), but it also locks you in. Choose the one-year term if there is any real chance you will replatform, merge brands or change your business model in the next three years.
Shopify notes that these figures apply to “standard setups and integrations,” and that pricing is subject to change.
Shopify bills Plus in several local currencies. Its help center lists these monthly platform fees:
| Currency | 1-Year Term | 3-Year Term |
| USD (US and unsupported currencies) | $2,500 | $2,300 |
| CAD (Canada) | $3,650 | $3,400 |
| EUR (EU and Greater EEA) | €2,250 | €2,100 |
| GBP (UK, Falkland Islands, Jersey) | £1,950 | £1,800 |
| AUD (Australia) | $4,000 | $3,700 |
| JPY (Japan) | ¥398,000 | ¥368,000 |
| INR (India) | ₹190,000 | ₹175,000 |
This is the part of Shopify Plus pricing that most guides get wrong. Shopify says that “more complex, higher volume businesses switch to a variable platform fee based on their revenue and business model.” Its help center adds that the variable fee is different for B2B and direct-to-consumer orders.
Shopify does not publish the percentage, the revenue level at which it kicks in, or any cap. Figures you see quoted online come from individual contracts or partner estimates, not from Shopify, and they vary. If you are a high-volume brand, assume the variable fee will be part of your quote and negotiate it directly with the Shopify Plus sales team. Ask specifically how B2B revenue is treated, because it is billed differently from DTC revenue.
One Plus contract covers one brand. The main store and nine expansion stores are included in the monthly platform fee, which is how many brands run separate storefronts by country or region. Beyond that, Shopify charges $300 a month per additional store, or a revenue share across all stores. Separate brands under the same parent company each need their own Plus contract. The help center also notes that each live expansion store needs its own theme license, which is a cost if you use a paid theme.
If you use Shopify Payments as your primary gateway, you pay Shopify all card fees and no separate transaction fee. Shopify’s pricing page lists these US rates for Plus:
The Plus pricing page notes that card rates vary by country, and that Plus has the lowest rates of any Shopify plan. For comparison, the Advanced plan lists 2.5% + 30¢ online.
If you use another processor as your primary gateway, you pay that processor’s fees plus 0.20% per transaction to Shopify, which Shopify describes as covering security and compliance costs. That is the lowest third-party fee on any Shopify plan (Basic is 2%, Grow 1% and Advanced 0.6%).
On $10 million a year in online sales, 0.20% works out to $20,000 a year in Shopify fees before your processor’s own charges. That is often still worth it if your negotiated rate with another processor is meaningfully lower, or if you need a specific gateway for subscriptions, B2B invoicing or a region Shopify Payments does not cover.
Plus supports extended payment authorization: up to 30 days for Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and up to 10 days for Discover and JCB. Shopify’s help center notes a 1.75% charge if you capture payment after seven days. Pre-order and made-to-order brands should account for that.
The platform fee is predictable. Everything else depends on your catalog, integrations and how much custom work you want. Shopify itself says on its Plus pricing page that you should budget for custom development with a Shopify Plus Partner, one-time theme purchases and third-party apps.
| Cost Line | Type | What Drives It |
| Platform fee | Monthly, contract | $2,500 (1-year) or $2,300 (3-year) in the US, or a variable fee for larger businesses |
| Payment processing | Per transaction | Shopify Payments rates, or processor fees plus 0.20% |
| Apps | Monthly, usage-based | Reviews, search, subscriptions, loyalty, email and SMS, returns, ERP connectors |
| Theme | One-time | Paid theme license per live store, or a custom theme build |
| Agency build | One-time project | Design, custom checkout logic, integrations, data migration |
| Migration | One-time | Catalog size, order history, URL redirects, customer accounts |
| Ongoing development | Monthly retainer or hourly | New features, CRO testing, app changes, maintenance |
| POS hardware | One-time | Card readers and terminals per retail location |
| Additional stores | Monthly | $300 per store beyond the main store plus 9 expansion stores |
Most Plus stores run a stack of paid apps for search, reviews, loyalty, subscriptions, returns, email and SMS, and helpdesk. Many price by order volume, contact count or GMV, so app spend grows as you grow. Before you upgrade, export three months of app invoices, separate flat fees from usage-based fees, and check which apps Plus features could replace. Shopify Flow, Shopify Functions, Launchpad for scheduled sales and built-in B2B tools often retire one or two paid apps. Email and SMS platforms, which often price by contact count, are usually one of the largest single app costs.
Shopify does not publish agency rates, and agencies price very differently depending on scope, region and whether the work is a theme customization or a fully custom or headless build. A straightforward migration onto a customized premium theme sits at the low end. A custom design system, complex checkout extensions, multiple expansion stores, ERP and PIM integrations, and a headless Hydrogen front end sit at the high end, and can cost many times the annual platform fee.
The safest approach is to get two or three fixed-scope quotes from agencies with Plus experience. The agency lists in the section on whether Plus is worth it, below, are a good place to start.
Shopify says it does not charge to migrate to Plus, but that migration is your responsibility, and that paid services are available for custom needs. A Shopify Plus representative can outline likely costs. In practice, migration cost depends on catalog size and complexity, how much order history you bring over, customer accounts, URL redirects for SEO and how many systems connect to the store.
If you are moving from another platform, the agencies for replatforming to Shopify Plus list covers specialists in Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and BigCommerce moves. Upgrading an existing Shopify store to Plus is much simpler, because your data stays where it is.
Plus includes POS Pro for your first 20 retail locations, and Shopify waives the cost for up to 200 locations if you use Shopify Payments. On lower plans POS Pro is $89 a month per location, so for retailers with several stores this is one of the clearest savings on Plus. You still pay for hardware such as card readers and terminals, priced separately on Shopify’s hardware store.
Shopify’s built-in B2B features are not exclusive to Plus anymore. Most of them, including company accounts, net payment terms, quantity pricing, PO numbers and the quick order list, are available on every plan. The differences that matter for wholesale are:
Remember that the variable platform fee, if it applies to you, is calculated differently for B2B orders. If wholesale is a big part of your revenue, ask for that rate in writing. Our list of Shopify agencies for B2B and wholesale covers partners who build these setups.
Plus includes up to 25 headless storefronts built with Hydrogen and hosted on Oxygen, and Shopify says you can deploy its React-based headless stack at no extra cost. The hosting is included, but the build is not, so headless projects carry higher agency costs.
For the largest enterprises, Shopify also sells Commerce Components, a modular package of its infrastructure, APIs, checkout, Shop Pay and storefront components that can plug into an existing stack. It is priced on an enterprise quote through Shopify sales and is not part of the standard Plus price list.
| Cost Item | Shopify Advanced | Shopify Plus |
| Subscription (US) | $299/mo billed yearly, or $399/mo monthly | $2,500/mo (1-year) or $2,300/mo (3-year) |
| Online card rate | 2.5% + 30¢ | 2.25% + 30¢ |
| In-person card rate | 2.4% + 10¢ | 2.3% + 10¢ |
| Third-party gateway fee | 0.6% | 0.2% |
| B2B catalogs | Up to 3 active | Unlimited |
| Expansion stores | Not included | 9 included |
| POS Pro | $89/mo per location | First 20 locations included, up to 200 with Shopify Payments |
The gap in subscription cost is roughly $2,000 to $2,200 a month. Lower card rates close some of that gap as revenue grows. Shopify’s own upgrade guide says there is no universal revenue threshold for Plus, and that its break-even figures for lower payment fees should not be read as Plus qualification thresholds. Run the numbers on your own revenue mix.
If you decide Plus is right, choose your partner carefully, because the build drives more of your total cost than the license. Start with our lists of enterprise Shopify Plus agency partners, Shopify Plus agencies for high-volume merchants and Shopify Plus agencies for enterprise ecommerce.
In the US, Shopify Plus costs $2,500 a month on a one-year term or $2,300 a month on a three-year term at the time of writing. Larger or more complex businesses may pay a variable platform fee based on revenue and business model instead, which Shopify quotes individually.
If you use Shopify Payments, there is no separate transaction fee; you pay card rates starting at 2.25% plus 30 cents for US online cards. If you use a third-party gateway as your primary processor, Shopify charges 0.20% per transaction on top of your processor’s fees.
It can. Shopify says higher-volume or more complex businesses switch to a variable platform fee based on revenue and business model, and that the rate differs for B2B and DTC orders. Shopify does not publish the rate, so confirm it in your quote.
Shopify does not charge a migration fee, though it offers paid services for custom needs. The real setup cost comes from your agency, theme, apps and data migration work.
The three-year term is cheaper than the one-year term, and variable fees and expansion-store terms are set in your contract with Shopify sales. Go into the conversation with your revenue split by channel, B2B and DTC, and by region, so you can compare quotes on the same basis.
Shopify Plus pricing starts at $2,500 a month on a one-year term or $2,300 a month on a three-year term in the US, with a variable, revenue-based fee for larger businesses that Shopify sets in each contract. Payment costs are the lowest of any Shopify plan, and POS Pro, B2B catalogs and expansion stores are bundled in.
The real cost of Plus, though, is the total: platform fee, payments, apps, theme, build, migration and ongoing development. Price every line, compare it with what you pay today on Advanced or another platform, and pick an agency that has done Plus builds like yours.
