Icelandic companies buy IT in a small, close-knit market. A handful of large groups, Advania, Origo, Sensa and Opin kerfi, have run hosting and operations for banks, utilities and public bodies for decades, while a newer layer of firms such as APRÓ and Tactica focuses on cloud platforms, automation and smaller customers. Most providers work in Icelandic first and price in ISK, and many combine hosting in local data centers with Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS.
Demand is shifting toward compliance and security. NIS2 and DORA readiness, 24/7 monitoring and backup with tested recovery now sit in most service catalogs, alongside the usual helpdesk and device management. This list of managed IT and cloud providers in Iceland covers both full-service groups and specialists, so you can match the provider to the size of your environment.
For this list we checked each company on its own website for an Iceland office address, managed IT, hosting or cloud services as a core service and named client work. No company paid to be included, and the order reflects our judgement of strength and fit. For more Iceland lists and guides, visit our Iceland hub.

Published case studies include cybersecurity work for Heilbrigðisstofnun Norðurlands, the North Iceland health care institution, and Power Platform process automation for Stekkjarvík. Advania also deploys and operates HPC and AI hardware for foreign customers in Icelandic data centers, and Creditinfo listed it among Iceland’s Outstanding Companies for the ninth year in a row in 2026.
Advania suits large companies and public bodies that want one provider for infrastructure, cloud, security and business applications.
Origo is headquartered at Borgartún 37 in Reykjavík. It was formed in 2018 from the merger of Nýherji, TM Software and Applicon, with roots going back to 1899, and was for many years IBM’s agent in Iceland. Since then it has spun off several units, including its security operations into Syndis in 2021 and its consumer equipment business into Ofar in 2025.
The current focus is hosting and running customer systems with high uptime, end-user technical support and cloud adoption through its Skýjavegferð cloud team. Origo is an Azure partner and offers Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud, Microsoft Fabric and Bifröst, its own AI add-on for Business Central. Security assessments and ISAR configuration audits round out the service.
Origo fits public and private organizations that want hosted operations with a Microsoft cloud roadmap.
Sensa is based at Lyngháls 4 in Reykjavík and has been listed as a Creditinfo Outstanding Company every year from 2010 to 2026. It holds ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, ISO 9001, ISO 37001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

APRÓ sits at Urðarhvarf 8b in Kópavogur and brings together three Icelandic specialists: Miracle, founded in 2003 for data and data security; Prógramm, founded in 2007 for software development; and Andes, founded in 2019 for cloud and automation. The combined company launched in 2024 and has about 80 specialists.
APRÓ is an AWS Advanced Partner and AWS Public Sector Partner, a Datadog partner, and also designs Azure environments. Its Vöktun og Viðbragð service provides continuous monitoring and response so customers do not need staff watching systems overnight. Named clients include Byko, the Icelandic Film Archive, Nova and Sjúkratryggingar Íslands, and its APRÓ Vitinn product gives companies a secure AI environment with an Icelandic interface connected to internal data. VR named it Company of the Year in 2025.
APRÓ suits companies running on AWS or Azure that want monitoring, data and AI from a cloud-first team.
Opin kerfi hf., trading as OK, is based at Skútuvogur 2 in Reykjavík, with further offices at Höfðabakki 9C and in Selfoss and Sauðárkrókur. The Competition Authority has approved the purchase of all its shares by Ásar hf.
The managed service side includes a NOC that monitors customer systems around the clock every day of the year, backup and business continuity with fast recovery of large virtual machines, VissaMDR security monitoring and response, remote services and operations consulting. OK also supplies central infrastructure, servers, storage and network equipment, plus Microsoft, Adobe and Red Hat licenses and a sales and repair workshop. It reports more than 600 completed web and software projects.
OK is a sensible choice for companies that want infrastructure and monitoring from one provider, and its offices in South and North Iceland help customers outside Reykjavík.
Wise has offices at Ofanleiti 2 in Reykjavík and Hafnarstræti 91 in Akureyri. The company was formerly called Þekking and combines business software with hosting and operations.
On the managed side, Wise offers Skýjavakt 365 and Skýjavakt BC cloud hosting, managed IT operations, security solutions and an AI-driven security assessment. Its consulting team covers NIS2 and DORA compliance, digital transformation, process analysis and automation. On the software side it sells Business Central subscription accounting, industry bundles for retail and municipalities, Dynamics 365 CRM and business intelligence. Kennarasambandið, the Icelandic teachers’ union, says in a testimonial that Wise has run its IT environment for decades, and Wise runs security webinars with Defend Iceland.
Wise fits organizations that run or plan to run Business Central and want the same partner to host it and operate the surrounding IT, with support in both Reykjavík and North Iceland.
Syndis is a Reykjavík-headquartered cybersecurity company with further offices in Stockholm and Bydgoszcz. It says it has spent 13 years building Nordic cybersecurity, and it took over Origo’s security operations in 2021.
The managed side is detection and response: a 24/7 SOC, managed detection and response, honeypots, dark web monitoring, external attack surface monitoring, incident response and forensics. Around this it offers penetration testing, red and purple teaming, M365, Active Directory and AWS assessments, and advisory work including virtual CISO and DPO services, NIS2, DORA, GDPR and ISO 27001 readiness. Named clients include Arion Banki, HS Orka, Sýn, Isavia and Festi, and it also runs the Awarego security awareness platform.
Syndis is the right partner for managed security operations alongside an existing IT provider, especially for companies facing NIS2 or DORA.
Tactica ehf. has operated since 2012 and works from the 17th floor of Smáratorg 3 in Kópavogur with a team of a little over twenty people. It also runs the Hýsingar.is hosting brand.
Services include managed IT with a focus on reliable operation, hosting in an ISO 27001-certified data center with daily backups and backup power, monitored antivirus, automated backup, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, telecoms and web solutions. Since 2016 it has developed Integrator, software that connects web stores and accounting systems, and it also builds self-service portals and payment gateway integrations. Clients quoted on its site include Rekstrarfélag Kringlunnar, Reykjafell, BDO Endurskoðun and the GKG golf club, and the Hýsingar.is client wall shows names such as Securitas and Epal.
Tactica suits small and mid-size businesses that want hands-on managed IT, hosting and integrations from a compact team.
VALIT ráðgjöf is a Reykjavík IT firm at Síðumúli 22. Its team cites 20 years of experience running IT systems and focuses on Microsoft environments.
The core service is managed operation of Microsoft environments, sold as a subscription, with consulting on Office 365, Azure and Exchange. Backup covers servers, Microsoft 365 and OneDrive. Security work includes network security consulting, staff awareness training with KnowBe4 phishing tests, Check Point firewall check-ups and physical intrusion testing. VALIT partners with Microsoft, Yubico, KnowBe4, Keeper and Check Point and sells YubiKeys, UniFi and Yealink equipment through its web store.
VALIT is a good fit for small and mid-size businesses that run on Microsoft 365 and Azure and want a fixed monthly fee for operations, backup and security awareness without the overhead of a large group.
Netkerfi og Tölvur ehf. is based at Fjölnisgata 6c in Akureyri and has sold Hewlett Packard equipment since 1997. It is one of the few providers on this list headquartered outside the capital area.
Its managed services center on remote support and Veeam backup solutions, backed by network equipment sales and setup with Cisco, HP Enterprise and UniFi products. The company also rents equipment, resells HP computers and printers, and works with Eaton for power protection and Jabra and Beam for collaboration hardware. Its site does not publish named client work, so ask for local references in North Iceland before signing.
Netkerfi og Tölvur suits companies in Akureyri and the surrounding region that want a local partner for backup, networking and support, with staff who can be on site the same day rather than flying in from Reykjavík.
Large groups such as Advania, Origo, Sensa and OK can cover hosting, end-user support, Microsoft licensing and security under one contract. Smaller firms such as VALIT and Tactica are often faster and cheaper for SMEs. Many Icelandic companies pair a general IT provider with a security specialist such as Syndis for SOC and penetration testing.
Iceland is in the European Economic Area, so GDPR applies in full. Ask whether hosting runs in Icelandic data centers, in Azure or AWS regions elsewhere in Europe, or in a mix. Regulated sectors should confirm ISO 27001 certification, the location of backups and who signs the data processing agreement.
Iceland is implementing NIS2 through EEA law, and DORA applies to financial firms. Check whether the provider offers gap analyses, incident reporting support and 24/7 monitoring, and whether its own operations are certified. Advania, Wise and Syndis all list NIS2 and DORA services directly.
Most Icelandic providers price per user, per device or per server each month in ISK, with Microsoft and AWS consumption billed separately in dollars or euros. Ask for a full breakdown, how currency changes are handled, and what is included in the base fee, such as backup storage, after-hours support and onboarding.
Service desks in Iceland usually work in Icelandic, which matters for staff support. International companies should confirm English-language ticketing, documentation and account management, and whether support hours cover their other time zones.
Iceland’s managed IT and cloud market is led by long-established groups, Advania, Origo, Sensa and OK, with cloud-first firms such as APRÓ and smaller operators like Wise, Tactica and VALIT serving more focused needs. Syndis adds managed security for companies under NIS2 or DORA, and Netkerfi og Tölvur covers North Iceland. Shortlist two or three providers that match your size and platform, ask where your data will be hosted, and compare ISK pricing on a like-for-like basis before you sign.
