Top Microsoft 365 And Google Workspace Migration Tools In 2027

Most collaboration migrations in 2027 fall into one of three shapes: a company leaving Google Workspace for Microsoft 365 (or the reverse), two Microsoft 365 tenants merging after an acquisition, or a divestiture that splits one tenant into two. Each shape stresses a different part of the toolset. A Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 move is mostly about Gmail labels, calendars and Drive permissions. A tenant-to-tenant migration adds Teams, SharePoint sites, identities, devices and the awkward problem of moving an email domain without losing mail.

The Microsoft 365 migration tools below cover that range, from free native utilities to enterprise SaaS platforms with coexistence and identity sync. We ranked them on workload coverage, fidelity (permissions, versions, metadata), how they handle cutover and delta passes, and how transparent the pricing is. If the project sits inside a wider security or licensing review, our guides to Azure and Microsoft 365 security training courses and Microsoft Solutions Partner designations are useful companions when you are choosing who runs the work.

Best Microsoft 365 And Google Workspace Migration Tools In 2027

    1. AvePoint Fly — Tenant Restructuring That Moves Identities, Devices And Teams Chat Together

AvePoint Fly is the broadest platform on this list. AvePoint describes it as an Azure-hosted SaaS service for Google Workspace migration and tenant restructuring, and the source list is long: Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange, public folders, SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Groups, Teams including Teams chat, Power Platform, Active Directory, Entra ID, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Chat, Slack (with direct messages), Box, Dropbox, file shares and IMAP, POP3 or PST mail. Destinations are Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory and Entra ID.

The appeal for large projects is fidelity and post-move tooling. Fly keeps permissions, versions and sensitivity labels, runs incremental passes while both environments stay live, and includes dashboards and validation reports. After cutover, the same product can merge, split or copy Teams and sites inside the destination tenant, which helps when a merger turns into a reorganization. AvePoint also offers a free pre-migration discovery scan and a managed option where its engineers run the migration, and a STIG-certified Fly Server deployment exists for government and defense customers.

The trade-off is weight and price visibility. Fly is quoted rather than listed, and identity migration was still in private preview on AvePoint’s product page at the time of writing, so confirm that scope before you plan an identity cutover around it. For a 50-seat Gmail move, it is more platform than most teams need.

Best for: enterprises consolidating or splitting tenants that want content, chat and identity on one console.

    2. BitTitan MigrationWiz — Published Per-User Licensing For Mailbox, Drive And Teams Chat Moves

MigrationWiz is a SaaS migration service that many MSPs and internal IT teams know by name, largely because the licensing is easy to scope. It handles mailboxes, archives, user and shared documents, Teams, public folders, Active Directory objects and workstations, and it supports Google Workspace both as a source and as a destination as well as Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant moves. A newer addition covers Teams private chat.

BitTitan publishes its prices. A Mailbox license (up to 50 GB) is listed at $14 per user, and the User Migration Bundle, which covers mailbox, archive, OneDrive or Google Drive documents and Teams private chat with unlimited data, is listed at $17.50 per user. A Tenant Migration Bundle at $57 per user adds a Teams migration or 100 GB of shared documents. Teams Collaboration, Shared Documents and Public Folders are licensed per team, per library and per 10 GB respectively, and PowerSyncPro add-ons handle directory sync and Windows device migration.

That modular model is the strength and the catch. It makes a simple Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 project cheap to price and easy to start with a free account, but a large tenant-to-tenant migration with many teams, libraries and devices ends up stitched from several license types, and you will want to model the total before committing. It ranks just behind Fly because Fly does more of the post-migration restructuring work in one product.

Best for: MSPs and mid-sized IT teams that want predictable per-user costs and a self-service console.

    3. Quest On Demand Migration — Email Domain Moves Between Tenants Without Mail Downtime

Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) is built for Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant work. It runs as SaaS on Azure, with data centers in Australia, Canada, North Europe, the UK and the US, and it covers Exchange Online and Exchange server mailboxes, PST and IMAP sources, public folders, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams and Microsoft 365 Groups, Power BI, and accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID, including password sync for AD accounts.

Its standout feature is Domain Move, which shifts an email domain from one tenant to another without interrupting delivery. That is the single riskiest step in most mergers, and native Microsoft tooling leaves it to you. Domain Rewrite, directory sync and hybrid Exchange coexistence round out the coexistence story, and newer AI-assisted log analysis helps filter errors during validation. Quest cites ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and SOC 2 Type 2 attestations. For Google Workspace sources, Quest markets a separate Google Workspace migration offering that moves Gmail to Exchange Online, Drive to OneDrive and Shared Drives to Teams.

ODM is sold in subscription tiers (T3, T5, T7 and add-ons) through sales, and the feature split between tiers takes some reading. It is the right tool for an enterprise merger, less so for a small business leaving Gmail.

    4. CloudM Migrate — Per-User Licensing With Unlimited Data For Moves Into Google Workspace

CloudM Migrate, from UK-registered CloudM Software, connects more than 20 sources, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, hosted Exchange, on-premises servers, IMAP, Zimbra, Box and Dropbox, and it writes to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. It supports Microsoft 365 to Google, Google to Google, and Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant paths, which makes it one of the few tools here that is equally comfortable moving people into Google.

You can run it CloudM-hosted or self-hosted inside your own infrastructure, a useful option for teams with data residency rules. The workflow covers a pre-migration environment scan, pilot and bulk runs, unlimited delta passes, reporting, an API, and link rewriting so that document links still point to the right files afterwards. Licensing is a 12-month migration license priced per user with unlimited data for mail, calendar, contacts, tasks and chat, while Shared Drives and public folders are priced by volume. CloudM is ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certified.

One limitation to note: CloudM says document version history migrates only when the destination is Microsoft 365. Moves into Google Workspace carry only the latest version of each file.

    5. ShareGate Migrate — Flat Annual Licensing With Unlimited Users, Data And Re-Runs

ShareGate Migrate is a desktop application that IT teams have used for years to move SharePoint, Teams, Planner, OneDrive and file shares. On the Pro and Enterprise plans it also handles Google Workspace (Drive files, Gmail threads and Calendar data), Box, Exchange Online mailboxes (user, shared, room, equipment and archive), Entra ID and Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels. Tenant-to-tenant migration is available on every plan.

Pricing is published and flat. Essentials starts at $5,995 a year for tenants up to 250 employees, Pro at $9,995 for up to 1,000 employees with five concurrent migrations, and Enterprise at $17,995 for larger tenants with 25 concurrent workstations and 24/7 support. ShareGate states the license includes unlimited users, data and re-runs, and there is a full-featured 15-day trial. For an internal team that will run several migrations over a year, that math is often better than per-user licensing.

The trade-offs are the deployment model and licensing scope. Migrations run from workstations you manage rather than a hosted service, and a license covers tenants belonging to one organization, so consultants and MSPs need a license per client project.

    6. Cloudiway — Free/Busy Coexistence And GAL Sync During Long Cutovers

Cloudiway, founded in 2010 in the French Alps and now a fully remote team, focuses on the period between “migration started” and “migration finished.” Alongside mail migration between Exchange, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and IMAP (with Lotus Notes and Zimbra as sources), file migration across OneDrive, Google Drive, SharePoint, Box and Dropbox, and Microsoft 365 or Google tenant-to-tenant moves, it sells free/busy coexistence, GAL synchronization and mail routing so users in both environments can book meetings and find each other while batches move.

It also covers chat migrations that many tools skip: Slack to Teams or Google Chat, and Google Chat to Teams, plus Google Vault, Google Sites and Intune or device moves. Cloudiway is ISO 27001 certified, is a Microsoft and Google Cloud partner, and states that data stays in European data centers, which matters to EU buyers.

Pricing is quote-based rather than published. Cloudiway is the stronger pick when coexistence is the hard requirement; for a quick weekend cutover it can be more than you need.

    7. Microsoft Migration Manager And Native Migration Tools — Built-In Google Drive And Gmail Moves Into Microsoft 365

Microsoft’s own tooling is fragmented across several products, but for a straightforward Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 project it can carry the whole job. Migration Manager in the SharePoint admin center moves Google Drive files, metadata and permissions into OneDrive and SharePoint, and a simplified Lite mode is on by default for tenants under 300 licenses. For mail, Exchange Online’s Google Workspace migration batches move mail, calendar, contacts and Gmail filters (as rules that arrive switched off).

For tenant-to-tenant work, Microsoft offers cross-tenant mailbox migration and cross-tenant OneDrive migration. Both require a Cross Tenant User Data Migration license per user, a one-time add-on fee, and Microsoft states that migrations fail without it.

The limits are real. The Google mail path skips vacation replies, shared calendars and room bookings, and it is not available for GCC High or DoD tenants. Cross-tenant mailbox moves skip mailboxes on hold, do not carry mailbox or calendar permissions across tenants, delete the source mailbox after a successful move, and require careful PowerShell preparation of target objects. There is no domain move, coexistence layer or single dashboard, so teams usually pair these tools with a third-party product as projects grow.

    8. Google Workspace Migrate — Self-Managed Bulk Migration From Exchange, SharePoint And Box Into Google

Google Workspace Migrate is Google’s enterprise tool for moving large, complex data sets into Google Workspace. Supported sources include Exchange 2010 through 2019 and Exchange Online, SharePoint 2010 through 2016 and SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Box, file shares and other Google Workspace tenants. It is limited to Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Education Standard and Plus, and legacy G Suite Business customers.

You run it yourself. Google’s system requirements call for a Windows platform server, two database servers with at least 16 cores and 64 GB of RAM each, and one or more node servers, hosted on Google Cloud (Google’s recommendation), on-premises or on another cloud. Smaller organizations can use the Data Import tool in the Admin console instead, which pulls mail, calendar, contacts and tasks from Exchange Online for up to 1,000 users per import.

The infrastructure footprint is the main cost. It suits enterprises with platform engineers on staff; everyone else tends to reach for a hosted tool such as CloudM or MigrationWiz for Microsoft 365 to Google moves.

    9. Movebot — Pay-Per-GB File Transfers Across More Than 30 Storage Platforms

Movebot, built by Couchdrop, is a cloud-native SaaS tool aimed at file-heavy migrations. It moves data between more than 30 storage platforms, including Google Drive, Office 365, SharePoint, Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, Wasabi, BIM 360 Docs and on-premises file servers, and it also migrates email, contacts and calendars, with IMAP among the supported mail sources. Nothing needs installing, and a free discovery scan flags problems before you start.

The pricing model is unusual and transparent: files cost up to $0.75 per GB and each mailbox costs $15 as a flat transfer with unlimited data, with no platform subscription. MSPs and large projects can negotiate lower data rates. That works out well for a company with a lot of users and a modest amount of shared storage, and less well for an engineering or media firm with hundreds of terabytes, where per-GB pricing adds up.

Movebot is lighter on Microsoft 365 tenant-specific features than the tools above it. Teams, identity and domain moves are not its focus.

    10. Transend — Windows Desktop Migration Console For GroupWise, Notes And Zimbra Mail

Transend has been in the email migration business for more than 25 years, and it is still one of the few tools that treats legacy systems as first-class sources. The Transend Migration Console moves email, calendars, contacts and tasks between Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Exchange, Notes Domino, GroupWise, Zimbra, Kerio and IMAP servers, with OneDrive and Google My Drive included in file migrations.

Licensing is per account and published on a sliding scale, from $31 per mailbox at the smallest volumes down to $19 at 500 or more, with combined mailbox and user drive licenses and separate Shared Drive pricing. The software runs on Windows only (Mac users need a Windows VM), and newer versions allow unlimited installs and remote agent machines. Transend also offers express and enterprise managed services for teams that would rather hand the work off.

Shared and team drives such as SharePoint, Google Shared Drives, Dropbox and Box need a conversation with Transend and carry extra fees, and the product is not built for Teams or tenant restructuring. Its place on the list is the legacy niche, where it has few peers.

How To Choose A Microsoft 365 Or Google Workspace Migration Tool

Which Direction Is The Migration Going?

Most tools are strongest moving data into Microsoft 365. If your destination is Google Workspace, shortlist CloudM Migrate, MigrationWiz, Cloudiway and, for large estates with in-house infrastructure skills, Google Workspace Migrate. For Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration, AvePoint Fly, Quest On Demand Migration, ShareGate and MigrationWiz are the main contenders.

Do You Need Coexistence During The Cutover?

If users will sit in two environments for weeks, you need free/busy sharing, a unified address list and mail routing, not just a copy engine. Cloudiway and Quest On Demand Migration are built around coexistence and domain moves. Microsoft’s native tools offer none of this, so budget for it separately if you go that route.

Which Workloads Are In Scope Beyond Mailboxes?

A mailbox migration is the easy part. List every workload before you buy: Teams channels and private chat, SharePoint sites with custom permissions, Shared Drives, public folders, Planner, Power Platform, devices and identities. Then check each tool’s coverage and licensing for each line, because several vendors license Teams, shared libraries and devices separately from users.

How Will You Pay: Per User, Per GB Or Flat?

Per-user licensing (MigrationWiz, CloudM, Transend) suits user-heavy projects with modest shared storage. Per-GB pricing (Movebot for files) suits the opposite. A flat annual license (ShareGate) wins when one internal team runs several projects a year. Ask how delta passes and re-runs are charged, because a failed batch that has to be rerun can change the total.

    Who Will Run The Project?

Self-service SaaS consoles work for experienced admins and MSPs. If your team is small or the project is high stakes, check whether the vendor or a certified partner offers a managed migration. AvePoint, CloudM and Transend all sell managed services alongside their software.

    Conclusion

There is no single best tool for every collaboration migration. AvePoint Fly and Quest On Demand Migration lead for enterprise tenant consolidation, BitTitan MigrationWiz and CloudM Migrate cover the most common Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 and reverse projects with clear per-user pricing, and ShareGate Migrate rewards IT teams that migrate often. Microsoft’s and Google’s native tools are worth trying first on simple moves, while Cloudiway, Movebot and Transend each solve a narrower problem (coexistence, very large file sets, legacy mail) better than the generalists.

Whichever you pick, run a pilot batch with real users and real data, check permissions and calendar items on the destination side, and settle how delta passes and the final cutover will work before you schedule the move.
