Selling a $3,000 sofa online is a different job from selling a $30 candle. Furniture and home goods catalogs carry fabric, finish, size and configuration options that multiply into thousands of combinations, ship by freight or white-glove delivery, and ask shoppers to commit to a big purchase without touching the product.
Shopify can handle all of it, but only when the store is built with those realities in mind from the start.
The agencies below have shipped that kind of work. We looked for named furniture, lighting, bedding and home decor clients on each agency’s own site, then weighed the problems they actually solved: configurators that beat Shopify’s variant limits, swatch ordering, made-to-order routing, showroom-to-online journeys and migrations off legacy platforms. If you want a broader view of the market first, our guide to the top Shopify experts to hire in 2026 covers generalists across every category.

Realm is a Minnesota Shopify Plus agency that has been building and growing Shopify stores since the early 2010s. Its own count puts the total at 259 shops helped and 122 five-star reviews, and furniture stores sit on its list of the ecommerce categories it has built for. That breadth matters for home goods brands, because the hard part is rarely one feature. It is getting product structure, collections, templates and marketing to work together across a catalog that keeps growing.
Clients point to exactly that. In a testimonial on Realm’s site, NomadMat credits the team with understanding how Shopify products, collections and templates fit together, which kept the store easy to expand. For a furniture brand juggling fabrics, finishes and sizes, that structural thinking is what prevents a catalog from collapsing into duplicate products and broken filters. Realm also moves stores onto Shopify from Magento, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Volusion, Wix and other platforms, then keeps working after launch with SEO, Google Shopping, paid social and email.
Best for: mid-market furniture and home decor brands that want one partner for the build, the migration and the marketing that follows.
Domaine is a Shopify Platinum Partner with offices across North America and Europe, and its furniture work sits at the top end of the market. For Arhaus, it moved the business from a custom platform to Shopify Plus, built “Shop the Room” journeys, redesigned product pages and added a 3D sectional customiser built with 3D Source. The agency reports a 24% lift in average order value, and 85% of user-testing participants came away with a positive impression of the configurator.
Its Hunter Douglas project shows the made-to-measure side. Domaine moved Blinds2go, Tuiss and SelectBlinds from VTEX to Shopify on one multi-brand theme, with real-time pricing by configuration handled through metafields, cart transforms and checkout validation. That is the native-checkout approach to custom pricing, rather than a fragile app layered on top.
Best for: enterprise furniture and window-covering brands that need 3D configuration and custom pricing inside Shopify’s own checkout.
Swanky, a Shopify Platinum agency with offices in Exeter, Port Adelaide and Montpellier, has more home goods case studies than almost anyone on this list. For Aeris, it built a configurator for the Swopper stool with roughly 2,600 configurations, well beyond Shopify’s native variant cap, plus engraving and a Swiss store. For Veneta Blinds it built a React product builder with a custom pricing API, and reports a conversion rate increase of more than 70% within a month of launch.
On the furniture side, Swanky’s bespoke Shopify Plus theme for Olivia’s came with reported results of revenue up 295% year on year, conversion up 149% and average order value up 49%. For Naturalmat, a bed and mattress maker with showrooms, it migrated from Magento and rebuilt product pages to follow the showroom sales conversation step by step, then added consultation booking. Six months after launch, website revenue was up 56.4%.
Best for: brands whose product options outgrow Shopify’s variant limits, and showroom brands that want the in-store sale mirrored online.
Ambaum is a Shopify Premier Partner with a stated retail and homegoods focus. Its best-known furniture project is Inside Weather, the custom furniture brand whose Shopify Plus store Ambaum ran from late 2018. The agency built a custom Vue configurator covering colours, arm styles, upholstery, pillows and comfort levels, with rotate, zoom and saved designs, alongside shop-by-room collections.
Ambaum reports that Inside Weather’s sales rose more than 400% in 2020. For any brand that builds to order, the project is a useful reference point: the configurator is the product page, and it has to stay fast and reliable while handling a very large set of combinations.
Best for: made-to-order furniture brands where the configurator carries the whole sale.
Diff is a Montreal-based Shopify Platinum Partner, now part of WPP, and its home goods work is strongest behind the storefront. For bedding brand Boll & Branch, it integrated NetSuite through eight custom APIs, supporting a single checkout across warehouses and made-to-order factories, routing to the right fulfilment point, zip-code mapping for mattress delivery and virtual warehousing. Diff reports more than $116 million in annual revenue running through Shopify and 430% growth since the partnership began.
For Progress Lighting, Diff moved the site to Shopify Plus and split the experience into direct-to-consumer and B2B, with an account and agent dashboard for trade buyers. Many furniture and lighting brands sell to designers and contractors as well as homeowners, and this is the kind of setup they end up needing.
Best for: home goods brands with complex fulfilment, made-to-order production or a trade channel alongside retail.
Ask Phill is an Amsterdam Shopify Platinum Partner and the strongest European option here for big home catalogs. For FEST Amsterdam, it moved the furniture brand from a headless setup back to native Shopify Plus, built five product templates (one per furniture type), brought in Cylindo 3D models through metaobjects and created a step-by-step sofa builder that adds a made-to-order sofa to the cart as one item.
Its FonQ project sits at the other end of the scale. Ask Phill moved the Benelux home and living retailer off a 15-year-old in-house platform onto a Shopify marketplace with Mirakl and Mollie, with custom delivery-date logic and carrier management across more than 250,000 products. The agency reports technical overhead cut in half.
Best for: European furniture brands that want 3D product visuals, and large home retailers running marketplace-sized catalogs.
Charle is a London Shopify Plus agency with offices in Manchester and New York. For Des Kelly, the Dublin carpet, flooring and bed retailer, it migrated from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus and built bed configurators, dynamic price calculators for carpet and flooring, a custom stock-system app and loyalty pricing through Checkout Functions.
For Harbour Lifestyle, a luxury outdoor furniture brand, Charle added product comparison, show-home referrals, assembly add-ons based on the shopper’s location and Algolia search. Both projects show the same strength: tying physical-store realities like stock, delivery areas and assembly into the online checkout.
Best for: flooring, bed and outdoor furniture retailers that price by size or sell through physical stores.
MLVeda, based in the Raleigh-Durham area, has the most direct answer on this list to the variant-heavy problem. For lighting maker Robert Abbey, it completed a zero-downtime migration to Shopify Plus covering more than 35,000 SKUs, presented 5,000-plus variants as a single product and built a table lamp builder that lets shoppers combine tops, middles and bases using more than 10,000 component images.
The same build added B2B wholesale pricing, so trade buyers and retail shoppers use one store. For lighting, hardware and decor brands with deep mix-and-match ranges, that combination is hard to find.
Best for: lighting and decor brands with enormous variant counts and a wholesale channel.
IDHL is a Shopify Platinum Partner with offices in London, Leeds, Manchester, Southampton and New York. For Lights4fun, the decorative lighting and home decor retailer, it moved a bespoke platform to Shopify Plus in two phases, merged the UK and US sites into one codebase, integrated NetSuite and ran full-funnel media.
The agency reports a 46% revenue uplift, 22% year-on-year revenue growth and 133,000 transactions, finishing 15% ahead of the revenue target. Seasonal home decor brands that peak around the holidays will recognise the value of having the build team and the media team in the same room.
Best for: seasonal home decor brands selling in more than one country that want build and media together.
Black & Black is a design studio with offices in New York and San Francisco. For USM Modular Furniture, it moved the US store from a legacy platform to Shopify Plus and redesigned it, integrated Salesforce, handled internationalisation and later refreshed the UK store, and it continues to support the brand with managed services.
The fit here is brand presentation. Premium furniture lives or dies on how the product is shown, and USM’s modular system is a demanding thing to explain online. Black & Black suits brands that care as much about the look of the store as the mechanics behind it.
Best for: premium and heritage furniture brands that sell through showrooms and online.
Count the combinations, not the products. Shopify’s native variant limits are generous for most stores, but a sofa with ten fabrics, four leg finishes, three sizes and a chaise option gets past them quickly. Ask each agency how it would model your range: native variants, combined listings, metafields or a custom configurator. The agencies above that have built configurators will have an answer ready.
Shoppers who cannot touch the product rely on samples and visuals. Ask for a live store where you can order a swatch, rotate a model or place an item in a room, and check how fast the product page loads with all of it running. Heavy 3D assets that slow the page can cost more sales than they win.
Large items usually ship by freight or white-glove service, with delivery zones, lead times and assembly options that change by postcode. Ask how the agency would show delivery dates on the product page, charge for oversized shipping and offer assembly at checkout. Few agencies publish this work, so ask for a demo rather than a promise.
High-ticket baskets convert better when shoppers can spread the cost. Shop Pay Installments, Affirm and Klarna all work on Shopify, but placement matters: financing messages on product pages and in the cart tend to do more than a single option at the final step. Make sure the agency treats this as part of the design, not an afterthought.
Many furniture and lighting brands sell to interior designers, contractors and stockists. If that is you, look for agencies with Shopify B2B experience, such as trade price lists, net terms and account dashboards. Our list of the top Shopify B2B and wholesale agencies goes deeper on that side.
A lot of established furniture retailers still run on Magento, custom platforms or older carts. Migration is where SEO and product data are most at risk, so ask how the agency maps URLs, carries over reviews and keeps variant data intact. If you are coming from Magento or BigCommerce, see our guide to Shopify migration services for BigCommerce and Magento stores.
Furniture and home goods brands need more from Shopify than a good-looking theme. The right partner can model a variant-heavy catalog cleanly, show the product convincingly, handle delivery and financing without friction and keep the store fast as the range grows. Realm leads this list for mid-market brands that want the build, the migration and the marketing in one team, while Domaine, Swanky and Ambaum stand out for configurator-heavy work at enterprise scale. Shortlist two or three, ask each to walk you through a live store in your category and choose the one whose answers match how your customers actually buy.
