Shopify is where most Volusion merchants end up.
Store Leads recorded 35 merchants leaving Volusion in the 90 days to September 2026, and Shopify took 18 of them, more than every other destination combined. If you are planning the same move, the work splits into two very different jobs: getting the data across intact, and getting the search rankings across with it.
Automated tools handle the first job cheaply and well. Products, customers, orders, categories and reviews transfer through a connector in hours rather than weeks, and the per-store price usually lands in the low hundreds. What those tools do not do is rebuild your theme, rewrite your URL structure or map several thousand legacy Volusion paths to their Shopify equivalents. That is agency work, and skipping it is the single most common reason a replatformed store loses organic traffic.
The ten providers below cover both routes. Some are pure migration engines, some are full service agencies that treat the data transfer as one line item in a rebuild, and a few do both. Each one names Volusion explicitly on its own site, which is a lower bar than it sounds: a good number of agencies still listed as Volusion specialists in directories have quietly dropped the platform.
A quick read on where each provider sits before the detail below.

LitExtension has been running shopping cart migrations since 2011 and reports more than 300,000 stores moved across 140 supported platforms. Its Volusion to Shopify path is a dedicated product rather than a generic connector, transferring products, variants, customers, orders, categories, coupons and reviews, with an unlimited free demo before you pay for anything.
The reason to start here is price certainty. You can see the cost of your specific migration before committing, and the All in One package adds a project manager who runs the transfer for you if you would rather not touch the wizard. The limitation is the same as every automated tool: it moves data, not design. Your Shopify theme still has to be built, and your redirects still have to be mapped by someone who understands both URL structures.
Optimum7 runs one of the deepest Volusion practices in the market, with separate service pages for Volusion to Shopify, Volusion to BigCommerce, Volusion to WooCommerce and Volusion to OpenCart, plus inbound routes onto Volusion from six other carts. The Florida agency states it has moved more than 100 brands off the platform.
What distinguishes them is scope. Volusion stores that have been trading for a decade usually carry bespoke behaviour, such as product configurators, quantity break pricing, monogram previews or a customised checkout, and none of that survives an automated transfer. Optimum7 rebuilds those as Shopify apps or theme extensions as part of the project. They are also unusually direct in public about Volusion’s technical weak points, including product content rendered by JavaScript after crawl, which is an indexation problem rather than just a speed one.
Cart2Cart, a MagneticOne product trading since 2008, is the other established automated engine. Its Volusion coverage is unusually wide: outbound to Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, PrestaShop, Magento and Square, inbound from six carts, and a Volusion to Volusion path for cloning a store, which nothing else in this list offers.
The pitch is speed and self service. You connect both stores, choose which entities to move, run a free demo migration and then pay for the full run. Recent activity on the platform is easy to verify, with the Volusion route page refreshed in August 2026. Treat the headline time estimates as best case. A large catalogue with heavy variant data takes longer, and the post migration checks, particularly on SEO URLs and 301 redirects, are on you.
Next-Cart sells both a self serve migration tool and a fully managed service per route, with more than 80 platform pairings including Volusion to Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Squarespace, Shopware and Shift4Shop. The blog carries posts through mid 2026, so the tooling is actively maintained.
Their useful edge is handling data that the standard connectors skip. Volusion stores often hold catalogue information in custom fields, option tables or naming conventions that were never designed to be exported, and Next-Cart will map those to Shopify metafields as part of a managed migration. If a demo run with another tool came back with holes in it, this is the sensible second call.
BSS Commerce is the most formally credentialed agency in this list. It holds Shopify Premium Partner status, Adobe Solution Partner status at Bronze tier, BigCommerce certification and ISO 27001, and operates from Vietnam with offices in Singapore, the United Kingdom and Estonia. Its Volusion to Shopify guidance was published in January 2026 and closes with a direct service offer.
The certifications matter more than they look. A Volusion migration moves customer records and order history, so a merchant with any compliance obligation should be asking how that data is handled in transit and who has access to it during the project. BSS is one of the few providers here that can answer with an audited framework rather than a reassurance.
Velt2 runs a dedicated Volusion to Shopify page whose entire argument is search continuity. It commits to a complete 301 redirect map and migrated metadata specifically to avoid ranking drops, and describes retaining search visibility as the deliverable rather than a side effect. The firm is a Shopify Plus partner and reports more than 2,100 migrations across platforms.
That framing is the right one. Volusion’s legacy URL patterns, including the ProductDetails.asp and SearchResults.asp paths that older stores still rank on, have no natural Shopify equivalent, and a migration that leaves them returning 404 will shed organic traffic within weeks. Velt2 does not publish its head office or founding year, so treat the corporate detail as unconfirmed and judge the firm on the redirect methodology it does document.
BrainSpate is a Shopify Partner with a specific Volusion to Shopify service page covering products, customers, orders and settings, and it reports more than 200 clients with 98 percent retention. It is the newest firm in this list, self describing as three years plus in operation.
Include it on a shortlist when the store is modest, the catalogue is clean and the budget is the binding constraint. A single brand Volusion store with a few hundred SKUs and no custom checkout behaviour does not need an enterprise partner, and paying for one is a waste. For a store with ERP dependencies, complex B2B pricing rules or a decade of URL history, choose one of the more established names above.
WebDesk Solution has been working on Volusion since 2012 and reports more than 80 Volusion projects and 500 clients across North America, operating from Great Neck in New York with a second office in Toronto. It publishes both a Volusion design and development page and a separate Volusion to Shopify migration guide, and the pages were updated in August 2026.
The firm is worth a call when the storefront is the easy part. Volusion stores that have been running for years are often wired into an ERP, a POS or a warehouse system through custom scripts, and those connections have to be rebuilt against Shopify’s APIs before launch. WebDesk does that integration work in house rather than handing it to a third party.
Virtina is a United States and India operation founded in 2012, ISO 9001:2015 certified, reporting more than 2,500 projects. Its Volusion migration page is deliberately non committal about the destination, offering Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or BigCommerce depending on what the business actually needs.
That neutrality is useful if you have not firmly decided on Shopify. A store selling 40 SKUs direct to consumers and a store selling 40,000 with wholesale tiers should not end up on the same platform, and an agency that sells only one destination has no incentive to say so. Note that the Volusion migration page itself was last substantially updated in 2024, so confirm current scope and pricing when you make contact.
Folio3 runs a dedicated ecommerce division and publishes a detailed Volusion to Shopify migration guide, updated in September 2026, that routes into a paid migration service. It is a large development organisation rather than a Volusion specialist, which changes what it is good for.
Choose Folio3 when the migration is the smaller half of the project. If moving off Volusion coincides with connecting NetSuite or Dynamics, building a customer portal, or standing up a second storefront for a different market, a firm with that engineering depth is a better fit than a migration boutique. For a simple catalogue transfer it is more capability than the job needs.
The honest test is whether anything on your Volusion store was custom built. If the answer is no, an automated tool plus a Shopify theme will get you there for a fraction of the cost. If you have a custom checkout flow, tiered wholesale pricing, a product configurator or an ERP connection, the tool moves the catalogue and leaves everything else on the floor, and you will end up hiring an agency anyway at a worse moment.
This is the question that separates a good provider from a cheap one. Ask for the redirect methodology in writing before you sign. You want a complete one to one map from every indexed Volusion URL to its Shopify destination, not a blanket redirect to the homepage, which Google treats as a soft 404. Ask specifically about legacy paths such as ProductDetails.asp and category URLs with query parameters, because those are where Volusion stores hold most of their ranking history.
Most tools move orders as records rather than as live objects, which means the data is there for reference but does not always drive Shopify features such as customer segmentation or loyalty tiers. If your marketing depends on lifetime value or purchase history, confirm exactly which fields arrive and in what shape. It is much cheaper to establish this during a demo migration than to discover it after go live.
No migration route carries your Volusion design across. You are either buying a Shopify theme and adapting it, or commissioning a custom build, and the cost difference between those two runs into five figures. Decide which before you brief anyone, because agencies quote very differently depending on the answer and comparing proposals that assume different things is how projects go over budget.
Volusion’s live store base has fallen roughly 77 percent from its 2020 peak, and agency attention has followed. Several firms that still rank for Volusion migration searches no longer have a working Volusion page, and at least one well known agency now returns a 404 on the URL that directories still cite. Before you shortlist anyone, open their Volusion page yourself and check the copyright date in the footer.
Moving off Volusion is a data project, a design project and an SEO project running at the same time, and the providers above are strong at different thirds of that. LitExtension, Cart2Cart and Next-Cart are the right call when the catalogue is clean and the budget is fixed. Optimum7, BSS Commerce, WebDesk Solution and Folio3 are for stores carrying custom functionality that has to be rebuilt rather than transferred. Velt2 is worth a conversation specifically about redirect mapping, which is the part most migrations get wrong.
Whichever route you take, run a demo migration first and check the output against your own catalogue before paying for the full transfer. Every serious provider offers one, and the holes it exposes are far cheaper to find in a sandbox than on launch day.
