Searching for web design Sydney businesses can trust is harder than it looks, because most agencies promise the same things. A good web design agency in Sydney should be able to show a local address, named client work, and a clear view of what it builds and what it leaves to others.
We checked each firm in this guide against its own website. To be included, an agency had to show a real base in Greater Sydney and offer web design as a core service. We kept only facts the firm states itself, such as founding years, partner badges, awards and client names, and left out anything we could not confirm.
The ten agencies below range from a Penrith WordPress studio to larger teams with several offices. If your project is platform-specific, see our list of WordPress developers in Sydney or our guide to Shopify agencies in Sydney. For other local providers, browse the Sydney services hub.

Spark Interact works from Level 5, 84 Pitt Street in the Sydney CBD. Its offer spans brand strategy and naming, web design, app development, eCommerce and ongoing website maintenance, so a business can brief one team for both the identity and the site. The agency lists a 2025 win at the 20th Annual Australian Web Awards, a 2023 Australian Multicultural Marketing Awards win, and a 2026 Finder Innovation Awards finalist placement for UX. It is a Google Partner and an AGDA member, and shows work for Epson, NSW Health, the University of Sydney, GrainCorp and Liverpool Catholic Club. The site also claims more than 1,000 websites built, which is its own figure and not independently checked. It suits organisations that want brand and web handled together, from small business to education and health clients, and that value a central location for workshops. Its Pitt Street office is a short walk from Wynyard and Martin Place stations, which helps when stakeholders need to attend design workshops in person.
Pollen is based at Level 2, 251 Riley Street, Surry Hills, and describes 18 years of designing digital products and services. Its website design work sits alongside web and mobile development, headless CMS integrations, and hosting and maintenance. The portfolio is weighted towards public and cultural bodies: the NSW Government (including the NSW Design System), the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Australian National Maritime Museum, CSIRO and Essential Energy all appear on its client list, along with brands such as Modibodi and Mud Australia. That mix points to a team comfortable with accessibility requirements, content-heavy sites and procurement processes. Pollen is a good fit for organisations that need a considered design process and a developer-led build rather than a template, and that expect the site to evolve over several years. Ask to see the NSW Design System project when you meet them, as it shows how they handle shared components across many teams.
AEK Media operates from Suite 201, 10-12 Clarke Street, Crows Nest, on the lower North Shore. It designs and builds sites on WordPress, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Shopify and Magento, and mentions headless architecture for larger builds. Its awards list is specific: Gold in Digital Health at the Australia Design Awards in 2024 and 2025, Gold in Digital Finance at the Sydney Design Awards in 2025 for Finselect Group, and several APAC and Global Search Awards in 2023 and 2024. Named clients include Criminal Defence Lawyers Australia, Oricom, Narbeen Dental, Healthy Weight Australia and Kanvas Beauty. Because search work sits next to design, it suits clinics, retailers and professional firms that want a new site built with organic visibility planned from the first sitemap. Its mix of design awards and search awards is unusual, so ask how the two teams work together on a new build.
Designpluz describes itself as an Australian family-owned business operating since 2008. It lists two Sydney offices, one at Angel Place, 123 Pitt Street, and one in Bella Vista in the North West, plus offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Coimbatore, India. The team is given as 45 or more specialists covering web development, UI and UX, SEO, web applications, support and maintenance, and it also builds software and mobile apps. It is a registered NSW Government supplier and displays Google, HubSpot, Shopify, BigCommerce, Xero and AWS partner badges. Client logos include Sydney Water, Anglicare, Myer, NobleOak and Family Planning Australia. The breadth suits businesses whose website needs to connect to booking, finance or customer systems, and who want design and engineering from one provider. Ask which of the two Sydney offices will run your project, and which tasks are handled in Coimbatore.
EB Pearls lists its Sydney office at Suite 1A7, 410 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, and works with a second delivery office in Kathmandu. Its service lines include website and eCommerce builds, from custom projects and headless commerce to full platform rebuilds, alongside mobile apps, AI development and product development. The company states ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification and a team of more than 360 specialists. Named clients include Optus, NSW Health, the University of Sydney, News Corp, AGL Energy and Vodafone. It also reports a number one Clutch ranking and more than 72 international awards, which we have not independently confirmed. The scale suits mid-sized and enterprise buyers whose site is part of a larger digital product, and who want security certifications on file. Ask which parts of a website project are delivered from Sydney and which from Kathmandu, and how the two teams hand work over.
WP Creative has its headquarters at Suite 63, 89-97 Jones Street, Ultimo, with most of its WordPress developers based in Kathmandu. The agency says it has been designing and developing custom WordPress sites since 2016. Services cover UX and UI design, WordPress and WooCommerce development, third-party integrations with CRMs and ERPs, migrations from Figma and PSD files, and care plans for ongoing support. It also supports Webflow, Shopify, HubSpot CMS and BigCommerce projects. The client list includes Deloitte Digital, UTS, Transport for NSW, Quantium, Nine and nib Eyecare, and case studies cover Flare HR and Gregory Jewellers. It is a sensible shortlist entry for organisations that have already settled on WordPress and want a design-led build with a managed support plan afterwards. Because developers are mostly offshore, confirm how design reviews and time zones are handled before signing.
AdVisible lists its office at Suite 302, 120 Sussex Street in the Sydney CBD. Its web offer covers website design and development, eCommerce design, landing pages, UX and UI, conversion rate optimisation and website support. It holds Premier Google Partner status, is a Meta Business Partner and a Shopify Partner, and is a member of the Australian Marketing Institute. The agency lists wins at the APAC Search Awards in 2025 and a long run of finalist placements. Brands shown on the site include Anytime Fitness, Mirvac, Tissot, Splendour in the Grass, Bisley Workwear and City of Sydney. It suits businesses that treat the website as a lead engine, such as gyms, hospitality groups and retailers, and that want the same team to manage paid media and conversion testing after launch. The address shown on its Google link differs slightly from the footer, so confirm the meeting location before you visit.
Pixite is based at 2C/21 Lawson Street, Penrith, which makes it a practical choice for Western Sydney businesses that prefer a nearby team. It states that it has been helping businesses grow online since 2013, with a focus mainly on WordPress development plus Shopify and WooCommerce projects. The agency says it does not work with Wix, Elementor or Divi, which is a clear position on build quality. It holds partner badges including Google Partner, Semrush Certified Agency Partner, Meta Business Partner, Klaviyo and Shopify, and lists an Australian Web Awards 2024 finalist badge. Named clients include Western Sydney Business Centre, TG Psychology, Bell Partners Finance and Velocity Home Lifts. It suits trades, clinics and professional practices in the Penrith and Blue Mountains corridor. Local meetings in Penrith are easy for Western Sydney owners, and WordPress websites are the core of what the studio delivers.
Stone Digital operates from 50 Miller Street, North Sydney, and says it has been trusted for web projects since 2017. It is upfront that it is not a full-service marketing agency: it does not offer Google Ads, social media management or email marketing. What it does offer is custom WordPress development, including themes and plugins, WooCommerce builds, Shopify theme development and travel agency sites, delivered by a team it describes as strictly in-house. It displays WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify partner logos and a Web Awards 2025 finalist badge. Clients named on the site include Porteno Group, Swillhouse, Forme Design, Hello Social and Lazarus Capital Partners. It suits businesses that already have marketing covered and want a development specialist for a bespoke build. Expect a developer conversation rather than a campaign pitch, and bring your own marketing partner if you need ads or social media.
Quikclicks has been operating since 2004 and is based at 210/90 Bourke Road, Alexandria. It designs custom and WordPress websites, builds eCommerce stores, and also offers hosting and domain registration, logo and branding work, and ongoing support. SEO, Google Ads and Facebook marketing are available as add-ons. The company describes itself as a Certified Premier Google Partner. The site names Excel Physiotherapy, Orthosports Physiotherapy and Canberra Plumbing as clients. Its strength is longevity and range: a small business can obtain the website, hosting, branding and basic marketing from a single supplier with a local team. It is less suited to complex integrations or large custom platforms, where a larger development house on this list would be the better match. Its longevity means it has seen several generations of web technology, which is useful when an old site needs a careful redesign.
It depends on what the site has to do. A design studio suits brand-led sites where layout, copy and imagery drive the result. A development-led agency suits sites that connect to booking, finance or stock systems. Ask each shortlisted firm who will actually build the site, whether that is in-house staff or an offshore team, and how handover to your own staff works once the project is live.
A clear quote lists design rounds, the number of templates, content migration, search redirects, accessibility testing, training and a fixed launch date. Ask whether hosting, plugins and licences are included or billed separately, and what the monthly maintenance fee covers. Prices vary widely, so compare scope line by line rather than by the total, and ask what a website redesign would cost in year three, not only at launch.
Ask for written confirmation that you own the design files, source code and content, and that your domain is registered in your name. Some agencies keep hosting accounts or proprietary builders under their control, which makes leaving difficult. A reasonable contract states ownership on final payment and gives you admin access to the site, its analytics and any WordPress websites or plugin licences purchased for it.
Ask whether the agency tests against WCAG 2.2, and whether a quote covers accessibility fixes and how it manages redirects when an old site is replaced. A rebuild without redirects can lose search traffic overnight. Request examples of previous launches, then look at how those sites load on a mobile connection. Government and education clients often require accessibility reporting, so ask for a sample report from a past project.
Local references help because Sydney agencies understand the market, from council rules to seasonal trade. Ask for two or three clients in your sector and speak to them directly. Check that the named clients on an agency website are genuine current or past projects, and ask what went well, what slipped, and what the agency would do differently next time.
Whichever web design agency Sydney buyers choose, the right one is the one whose strengths match your project, not the one with the longest award list. A brand-led organisation will lean towards a studio such as Spark Interact or Pollen. A business that needs deep WordPress skills may prefer WP Creative, Pixite or Stone Digital, and one that wants search built in may look at AEK Media or AdVisible.
Shortlist three firms, ask for scoped quotes and speak to past clients before deciding.
