Angus Ni
Co-Founder, Morrow Ni LLP
Bilingual trial lawyer bringing elite litigation credentials to transnational disputes.
“Sophisticated clients deserve counsel who can operate fluently in both the language and the legal system. That gap is exactly what I built my practice to close.”
Angus Ni occupies a narrow but consequential position in U.S. litigation. He is one of a small number of American trial lawyers who combine native fluency in Mandarin with the ability to litigate complex, high-value commercial disputes in federal and state courts across the country. That pairing of language capability and elite litigation credentials gives clients a structural advantage that few firms can replicate.
Mr. Ni’s career has run through two of the most demanding litigation environments in the profession. He began as a litigator at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossman LLP, the top shareholder rights law firm in the United States, where he prosecuted numerous securities class actions against U.S. listed corporations on behalf of hedge fund and pension fund investors. These actions spanned a wide range of industries and jurisdictions throughout the country, involving both domestic and international discovery.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ni practiced as an associate in the litigation department of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, a major transnational law firm, where he participated in complex international arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce and World Bank Investment Treaty Tribunals, along with large-scale corporate investigations across multiple jurisdictions.
As co-founder of Morrow Ni LLP, Mr. Ni now brings that institutional training to bear on behalf of individuals and companies engaged in transnational disputes. The firm was built to serve a well-documented gap in the market: sophisticated Chinese clients who require counsel able to operate effectively in both the U.S. legal system and their native language. Mr. Ni advises individuals and companies across numerous complex disputes, with particular depth in securities litigation and risk management for publicly listed companies, a practice area drawn directly from his institutional experience at Bernstein Litowitz.
Beyond his commercial practice, Mr. Ni secured a judgment of acquittal in the Zhu Hailong federal criminal matter, a result achieved through trial rather than settlement. Taken on a pro bono basis, the case stands as a concrete demonstration of courtroom skill at the highest level, paired with a commitment to access to justice.
The throughline across Mr. Ni’s career is consistency of caliber rather than volume: institutional-grade litigation experience, applied now to clients navigating the space between two legal cultures and two languages.
