    Monica Goyal is a Toronto-based legal innovator, lawyer, and engineer recognized for her leadership in legal AI and technology-driven transformation. As Vice President of Legal Innovation at Briefly Legal, she leads enterprise AI initiatives across multiple legal entities, focusing on generative AI, workflow automation, and modernizing the delivery of legal services.

    With a unique dual background in engineering and law, Goyal holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a JD from the University of Toronto. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), bringing a systems-driven approach to solving complex legal challenges.

    Goyal was the founder of My Legal Briefcase, an early legal tech platform, and Aluvion Law. She has spent over a decade at the forefront of legal innovation, working to improve both the business and accessibility of legal services.

    In addition to her industry work, she is a lecturer in legal technology and an active contributor to the legal innovation community. Recognized as one of the ABA’s Ten Women to Watch in Legal Tech and a Fastcase 50 recipient, Goyal continues to focus on advancing AI adoption and expanding access to justice.
