“Affordable housing is not a short play. The financing is complex, the compliance period is long, and the communities depending on these properties deserve both. My job is to build projects that hold their value and their promise for the people who actually live in them.”

Chinedum Ndukwe has built his career around discipline, preparation, and long-term performance. Those qualities first shaped his years as a professional athlete and now guide his work in one of the most demanding areas of real estate development.

As founder and owner of Kingsley and Company, a Cincinnati-based real estate development and brokerage firm established in 2012, Ndukwe has spent more than a decade working within the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit system. His work focuses on affordable housing projects across Ohio’s urban markets, with an emphasis on sound financial planning, responsible execution, and lasting neighborhood value.

His path into real estate reflects a natural progression rather than a complete reinvention. Ndukwe played five seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders. That career required him to understand complex systems, prepare across extended timelines, work effectively with others, and perform consistently under pressure.

Those same qualities are central to affordable housing development. LIHTC projects often involve years of financing, planning, construction, and regulatory coordination. Compliance responsibilities can continue for decades, making careful decision-making essential at every stage. For Ndukwe, the transition from professional football to real estate represented a continuation of the discipline and accountability that had already defined his career.

His education further strengthened that foundation. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Ndukwe later completed executive education at Harvard Business School and the Wharton NFL Business Management Program. These experiences expanded his understanding of finance, leadership, and business strategy, all of which continue to influence Kingsley and Company’s approach to development.

The firm’s portfolio demonstrates how that approach is applied in practice. The Blair at Victory Vistas in Cincinnati secured 11 housing vouchers through the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority. The designation requires continued adherence to CMHA inspection requirements and resident eligibility standards.

In Columbus, Kingsley and Company received a LIHTC award for the Mercy on Main project. The award reflects the firm’s ability to pursue affordable housing opportunities beyond its Cincinnati base while operating within a competitive and highly structured financing environment.

The company has also advanced its work through collaboration. In Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills neighborhood, Ndukwe structured a co-development partnership with Socayr Inc. for the 2828 May Street project. Kingsley and Company serves as the builder, while Socayr leads the affordable housing development effort through its affiliate, Beacon Property Management.

Kinsey Lofts is another active project in the firm’s Ohio pipeline and is approaching closing. Together, these developments reflect a measured strategy centered on careful project selection, capable partnerships, and sustainable growth.

Kingsley and Company operates as both a brokerage and a development business. This dual model provides operational stability during the extended periods between project financing and completion. It also gives the firm experience across multiple stages of the real estate process.

Each opportunity is considered through a long-term lens. Financing decisions, site selection, and development partnerships are evaluated according to the value a project can provide to residents and the surrounding neighborhood throughout the compliance period and beyond.

This approach supports Ndukwe’s broader identity as a community-centered developer. His work combines business discipline with an understanding that affordable housing projects carry responsibilities to residents, partners, public agencies, and local neighborhoods.

Beyond Kingsley and Company, Ndukwe has served in civic and institutional board roles connected to the future of Cincinnati and its communities. These include the Mayor of Cincinnati’s Immigration Task Force, the Mercy Health Board, and the University of Notre Dame Athletics Board.

His participation reflects an ongoing connection to organizations involved in community health, civic engagement, education, and economic participation. It also places his real estate work within a broader commitment to the institutions that shape local opportunity and quality of life.

For Chinedum Ndukwe, Cincinnati is more than the location of his company. It is the primary market in which Kingsley and Company has developed its approach to affordable housing, local partnership, and responsible real estate investment.

That approach continues to be refined through deliberate growth, transparent collaboration, and one carefully structured project at a time. To learn more about Chinedum Ndukwe and his work, visit https://chinedumndukwe.net/.
