Short answer: deleting the Tinder app or your Tinder account does not stop the charges. Cancel where you paid: on iPhone go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Tinder, then Cancel Subscription. On Google Play go to Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Tinder. If you paid by card or PayPal, sign in at tinder.com, tap your profile icon, then Manage Payment Account, then Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before your renewal date.
Tinder Plus, Tinder Gold, Tinder Platinum and the invite-only Tinder Select all work the same way: they renew automatically until you cancel them, and the cancel button lives wherever the payment was taken. That is the part that trips people up. Most Tinder subscriptions are bought inside the app, which means Apple or Google is billing you, and nothing you do inside Tinder itself will end that billing.
This guide covers how to cancel Tinder Gold and every other tier on iPhone, Android and the web, what happens to your Super Likes and Boosts, when a refund is possible, and the difference between cancelling, hiding your profile and deleting your account.
Tinder uses three billing routes, and each one has its own cancel button. The quickest way to tell them apart is the order number on your purchase receipt email, or the name on your card statement.
| What you see | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
| Statement says APPLE.COM/BILL, order number starts with MK | Apple App Store | iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions |
| Statement says GOOGLE *Tinder, order number starts with GPA | Google Play | Play Store, then Payments and subscriptions |
| Statement says TINDER, order number starts with TNDR or COSU | Tinder directly (card or PayPal) | tinder.com or the Android app, then Manage Payment Account |
| Charge for Tinder Select | Usually the same store or card you used to join | Check the three routes above in order |
If you have moved from an iPhone to an Android phone, or the other way round, your subscription did not move with you. Tinder’s help centre is clear that subscriptions do not transfer between platforms, so you still cancel through the store you originally bought from.
This is the single most common Tinder billing mistake, so it gets its own section. Plenty of people finish with dating apps, delete Tinder from their phone, and then find another Tinder Gold charge a month later.
The safe order is always the same: cancel the subscription first, check it shows an end date rather than a renewal date, and only then hide or delete your account if you want to.
Tinder does not publish one fixed price list. Its terms of use say pricing varies based on a number of factors, including where you live, past purchases and how you use the app, and longer plans are discounted per month. Your own price is the one shown on the upgrade screen in the app or in your store subscriptions. The table below shows what each tier includes and the rough US monthly range reported in 2026 for a one month plan.
| Tier | What it adds | Typical US monthly price | Renews |
| Tinder Plus | Unlimited Likes, unlimited Rewinds, Passport, no ads, Incognito mode | Roughly $18 to $25 | Until cancelled |
| Tinder Gold | Everything in Plus, See Who Likes You, weekly Super Likes, one Boost a month | Roughly $40 | Until cancelled |
| Tinder Platinum | Everything in Gold, plus Priority Likes | Roughly $50 | Until cancelled |
| Tinder Select | Invite-only top tier | Reported at $499 a month at launch | Until cancelled |
| Super Likes and Boosts | One-off purchases, not a subscription | Varies by pack size | Do not renew |
Six month and twelve month plans cost much less per month but charge the full amount up front, and they renew for the same length again. If you bought a long plan you have stopped using, cancelling now protects you from the next large charge even though it will not refund the current one.
Every Tinder plan renews automatically at the end of its term. Apple requires you to cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date for the cancellation to apply to the next period, and Google Play renews on the date shown in your subscriptions list. Treat 24 hours before renewal as your real deadline on every route.
There is no penalty for cancelling early. You keep the features you paid for until the end of the current period, so there is nothing to gain by waiting until the last day and a lot to lose if you forget. The renewal date is shown on the subscription screen in Apple Settings, in Google Play, or under Manage Payment Account on tinder.com.
If you upgraded inside the Tinder app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple holds the subscription and Tinder cannot cancel it for you. These steps work for Gold, Plus and Platinum.
If Tinder is not in the list, you are either signed in to a different Apple Account from the one you paid with, or you paid Tinder directly. Check your receipt email: an order number starting with MK confirms Apple billing. You can also see Apple subscriptions on a Mac through the App Store, or on a computer by signing in to your Apple Account online.
Android users can be billed two different ways, so check the order number first. GPA means Google Play. TNDR means you paid Tinder with a card or PayPal inside the Android app.
Make sure you are signed in to the same Google account you used to buy the plan. If you have several Google accounts on the phone, switch between them from the profile icon and check each one.
If you bought your plan on the Tinder website, or paid with a card inside the Android app, Tinder bills you directly and you can cancel from any browser.
Manage Payment Account only shows plans Tinder bills directly. If it is empty but you are still being charged, the subscription sits with Apple or Google, and you need the steps above.
There is no separate process for each tier. How to cancel Tinder Plus is exactly the same as how to cancel Tinder Gold or Platinum: find the Tinder entry in Apple, Google Play or Manage Payment Account, and cancel it there. You only ever hold one Tinder subscription at a time, so cancelling it ends whichever tier you are on.
Tinder Select is the exception in price, not in process. It is an invite-only tier that was widely reported at $499 a month when it launched, so a missed renewal is expensive. Cancel it through the same store or account you used to join, and check your statement the following month to be sure no further charge appears. If you cannot find it anywhere, contact Tinder support with your order number before the next renewal date.
If you want to drop from Platinum to Gold, or from Gold to Plus, rather than leave entirely, the route depends on the biller again:
Since Google and web users have to cancel anyway, it is worth asking whether you want the lower tier at all once the paid period ends.
Tinder sells two kinds of things: subscriptions, which renew, and Virtual Items such as Super Likes and Boosts, which are bought once. They behave differently when you leave.
The narrow exceptions are legal ones. In South Korea, for example, Tinder’s terms allow a refund of unused Virtual Items within 7 days. In the US, assume a pack of Super Likes is spent the moment you buy it.
| Feature | After the paid period ends |
| Unlimited Likes | You go back to the free daily Like limit |
| See Who Likes You (Gold and above) | The Likes screen is blurred again |
| Priority Likes (Platinum) | Your Likes are no longer shown first |
| Passport and Rewind | No longer available |
| Weekly Super Likes and monthly Boost | Stop arriving |
| Matches and chats | Stay exactly as they are |
| Your profile | Stays live on a free account |
Cancelling does not end the features immediately. You keep them until the date shown on your subscription screen, and then the account quietly becomes a free one. Your matches and conversations are not touched, which is why cancelling is usually a better first step than deleting.
People searching for how to delete a Tinder account often only want the charges to stop, or want a break. These are three separate actions, and only one of them touches billing.
| Cancel subscription | Hide profile | Delete account | |
| Stops the charges | Yes | No | No, cancel first |
| New people can see you | Yes | No | No |
| Keeps matches and chats | Yes | Yes | No |
| Reversible | Yes, resubscribe any time | Yes, one toggle | Partly, within 90 days |
| Where to do it | Apple, Google Play or Manage Payment Account | Profile, Settings, Enable Discovery off | Profile, Settings, Delete Account |
In the app or on tinder.com, tap the profile icon, then Settings, scroll to Enable Discovery and turn it off. Your profile is no longer shown to anyone new, but you can still chat with existing matches. One catch from Tinder’s own help centre: people you already Liked may still see you and match with you. Turn the same toggle back on when you want to return.
Tinder also offers a Manage My Account tool on its website where you can sign in and delete the account if you no longer have the app. After deletion your profile is no longer visible to other users. If you change your mind within 90 days you can recreate a profile and restore basic details such as your name and age, but matches and messages do not come back.
Usually not, but there are more exceptions than most people realise. Tinder’s terms of use say all purchases are final and non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Who handles the request depends on who billed you.
Tinder’s terms give residents of Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island and Wisconsin the right to cancel a new subscription without penalty before midnight of the third business day after subscribing. If you live in one of those states and upgraded by mistake, act fast and mention this right when you ask for the refund.
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Tinder’s terms provide a full refund within 14 days after a subscription begins. South Korea has a 7 day window that also covers unused Virtual Items. Germany has its own monthly termination rules after a renewal. Check the version of the terms for your country, because it overrides the general no-refund rule.
A chargeback with your bank should be a last resort. Try the biller first, keep your cancellation screenshot, and describe exactly what happened. Disputing a charge you could have cancelled yourself rarely ends well with any app.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| Charged after deleting the app | Uninstalling never cancels a subscription | Cancel through Apple, Google Play or Manage Payment Account |
| Charged after deleting the account | The store subscription outlived the profile | Cancel in Apple Settings or Google Play, which still list it |
| No cancel button on tinder.com | Apple or Google bills you | Check your receipt for MK or GPA and cancel there |
| Tinder missing from iPhone Subscriptions | Different Apple Account, or you paid Tinder directly | Check other Apple Accounts and Manage Payment Account |
| Charged after switching phones | Subscriptions do not transfer between platforms | Cancel on the platform where you first subscribed |
| Charged the day you cancelled | Cancelled inside 24 hours of renewal | Request a refund from whoever billed you |
| Two Tinder charges in one month | A subscription plus a one-off Boost or Super Like pack, or two accounts | Match each order number to a purchase in your receipts |
If none of these fits, contact Tinder support through its help centre with the order number from your receipt and a screenshot of your cancellation confirmation.
Cancel where you paid. iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Tinder, Cancel Subscription. Google Play: Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Tinder. Card or PayPal: tinder.com, profile icon, Manage Payment Account.
Nothing changes except the app leaves your phone. Your account stays live and any subscription keeps renewing.
No. Tinder says active subscriptions are not cancelled automatically when you delete your account. Cancel first, then delete.
Tinder varies its prices by location and other factors, so there is no single figure. In the US a one month Gold plan has been reported at around $40, with lower monthly rates on longer plans. Your exact price is on the upgrade screen.
Yes, until the end of the period you already paid for. After that your account becomes a free one.
Generally no. Tinder’s terms say Virtual Items are final and non-refundable, apart from limited legal exceptions in some countries.
You are probably signed in to a different Apple Account, or you paid Tinder directly. Check your receipt: MK means Apple, TNDR means tinder.com.
There is no billing pause. You can hide your profile by turning off Enable Discovery, but the subscription keeps charging until you cancel it.
Do not rely on it. An inactive account with a subscription keeps billing. If you want the account gone, delete it yourself after cancelling.
Yes. As long as you did not delete your account, you can upgrade again from Settings at any time.
