Short answer: sign in at hellofresh.com, click your name in the top right, choose Account Settings, scroll to Plan settings and click Manage under Subscription Status, then follow the cancellation prompts until you see a confirmation. Do it by 11:59 PM Pacific time five days before your next delivery. Miss that cutoff and the next box still ships and is charged, and the cancellation starts the week after.
HelloFresh is not hard to cancel, but it is easy to cancel too late. Because your box is built and paid for days before it arrives, cancelling on the day you get a delivery you did not want does nothing for that box, and often nothing for the next one either. Most “I cancelled and still got charged” stories come down to that weekly cutoff.
This guide covers the cutoff, the website and app routes, when skipping a week or pausing beats cancelling, what happens to a box you got at an introductory discount, refunds and credits, reactivating later, and how to delete your account and data completely.
Unlike streaming apps, HelloFresh almost always bills you directly, even if you signed up on your phone. There is no Apple or Google Play subscription to hunt for. What trips people up instead is having a second HelloFresh account, or confusing HelloFresh with one of its sister brands, which run separate accounts and separate subscriptions.
| What your statement says | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
| HELLOFRESH or HELLO FRESH | HelloFresh directly | hellofresh.com Account Settings, or the HelloFresh app |
| HelloFresh charge on a card you do not recognise | HelloFresh, on a second account | Sign in with every email you might have used and check each one |
| EVERYPLATE, GREEN CHEF or FACTOR | A HelloFresh sister brand | That brand’s own website or app; cancelling HelloFresh does not touch it |
| Charge from a gift card or partner deal | Usually no recurring charge until the voucher runs out | Cancel in your HelloFresh account before the voucher period ends |
HelloFresh does not have a single subscription fee. You pay per box, and the price depends on how many people and how many recipes you choose each week, plus shipping and anything extra you add. In mid 2026, published US pricing ran from roughly $11 to $12.50 per serving at standard rates, with the per serving price falling as you order more. Your exact weekly total is shown on your delivery page before the cutoff, and that is the figure that counts.
| Part of the bill | How it works (US, 2026) | Stops when you cancel? | Meal kits | Charged per serving; smaller plans cost more per serving than larger ones | Yes, from the first week after the cutoff | Shipping | A shipping fee applies on every box after the first | Yes, with the box | Add-ons and market items | Extra desserts, sides, proteins and snacks added to a box | Yes, but any already in a locked box are charged | Introductory discount | Applies to the first box only unless the offer says otherwise | Standard rates apply automatically after it |
The charge is weekly and recurring. HelloFresh’s terms say it can bill each subscription week without asking again until you cancel through its cancellation process, and your card is charged around the time your box locks, not when it arrives.
This is the single rule that matters most. Every HelloFresh box locks five days before its delivery date, at 11:59 PM Pacific time. After that point you cannot skip, edit or cancel that box.
HelloFresh’s terms are explicit about what happens if you are late: you will be charged and receive that week’s box, and the cancellation takes effect for the following delivery week. Two things make this easy to miss. First, the time is Pacific, so East Coast customers effectively have until 2:59 AM Eastern the next morning, while customers in Hawaii have less time than they think. Second, the cutoff for the next box is usually before the current box even arrives, so waiting until “after this delivery” to cancel often means one more box than you planned.
Before you start, open your delivery schedule and note the date of the next box that is still editable. That tells you exactly which week your cancellation will apply to.
The website route is the one HelloFresh describes in its terms, and it is the most reliable way to cancel your HelloFresh subscription.
You can also cancel HelloFresh in the app on iPhone or Android. The menu labels shift between app versions, but the path follows the same logic as the website: your profile, then plan settings, then subscription status.
Deleting the app does not cancel anything. And because HelloFresh bills you directly, you will not find it in your iPhone Subscriptions list or under Payments and subscriptions in Google Play. If you cannot find the cancel option in the app, use the website on your phone’s browser instead; it has the full account settings.
If you cannot sign in, or the online flow keeps looping you back to offers, HelloFresh’s terms give two other routes:
The cutoff still applies to these routes. An email sent at 11 PM Pacific the night of the cutoff may not be processed before the box locks, so contact HelloFresh a day or two early and ask for written confirmation of the date your last box ships.
HelloFresh gives you three ways to stop a box arriving, and they are not interchangeable.
| Skip or pause a week | Cancel the plan | |
| What it does | Stops one chosen delivery | Stops all future deliveries |
| Charge for that week | None | None, from the first unlocked week |
| Next week | Deliveries resume automatically | Nothing arrives until you reactivate |
| Deadline | Before that box’s 5 day cutoff | Before the next box’s 5 day cutoff |
| Best for | Holidays, busy weeks, a short break | Leaving HelloFresh for good |
Sign in, open your deliveries, click the delivery day for the week you want to skip and choose the pause or skip option for that week. HelloFresh’s terms call this Pause Week. You are not charged for a paused week, but it only applies to that one week, so automatic deliveries start again the following week unless you pause that too. You can skip several future weeks one by one in the delivery calendar, which is how to pause HelloFresh for a longer stretch without cancelling.
The catch is that each skipped week has to be set before its own cutoff, and the plan keeps running in the background. If you forget to skip a week further out, a box arrives. If you are not sure you will come back, cancelling is safer than a long run of skips.
Most people join HelloFresh through a heavy introductory discount, and this is where many unwanted charges start. HelloFresh’s terms say a voucher discount usually lasts only for the first week of your plan unless the voucher or sign-up page says otherwise, and that once it expires you are billed the standard weekly rate unless you cancel before the end of the voucher period.
The safest habit is to cancel immediately after placing your first order if you are only testing the service. Your first box still arrives, and you can reactivate later if you liked it.
There is no separate cancel order button for one box. To cancel a HelloFresh order without ending your plan, skip that week before its cutoff using the steps above. Once the box has locked, it is prepared, charged and shipped, and it cannot be cancelled. If a locked box arrives damaged, late or with missing ingredients, that is a refund or credit question rather than a cancellation, covered below.
If you have account credit from a past complaint or a referral, use it on a box before you cancel. HelloFresh’s terms do not spell out what happens to unused credit on a cancelled plan, so do not count on it being paid out or kept indefinitely.
Cancelling stops the boxes and the charges. Deleting your account is a separate privacy request that removes your personal data. Most people only need the first.
| Cancel your plan | Delete your account and data | |
| Stops weekly charges | Yes, after any locked box | Cancel the plan first, then request deletion |
| Keeps order history and saved recipes | Yes | No |
| Unused credit | Spend it first | Lost |
| Reversible | Yes, reactivate any time | No, you would sign up as a new customer |
| Where to do it | Account Settings, Plan settings, Manage | HelloFresh’s privacy request form, privacy@hellofresh.com or its privacy phone line |
Not for the box you have already been charged for. HelloFresh’s terms say you are not eligible for a prorated refund of any part of the current subscription week, and a box charged after the cutoff is delivered and kept. Cancelling only stops future weeks.
Money or credit can come back in a few situations:
Leave a chargeback for last. A disputed charge can complicate your account, and customer care can usually fix a genuine error faster when you have proof of the cancellation time.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| One more box arrived after you cancelled | You cancelled after that box’s 5 day cutoff | Expected; no further boxes should follow. | Check your account shows no later deliveries | Boxes keep coming weeks later | The flow was not completed, or you accepted a retention offer | Sign in, check Subscription Status, and cancel again until you see a confirmation | Charged at full price after a cheap first box | The introductory discount covered one box only | Cancel now; the charged box will still arrive | Cannot find the cancel option in the app | The app layout differs by version | Use hellofresh.com in a browser, Account Settings, then Plan settings | Not in Apple or Google subscriptions | HelloFresh bills you directly | Cancel in your HelloFresh account, not in the app store | Charges from EveryPlate, Green Chef or Factor | A separate sister brand subscription | Cancel on that brand’s own site | A HelloFresh charge with no account you recognise | A second account under another email | Search your inboxes for HelloFresh emails and sign in to each account |
If none of these fits, contact HelloFresh customer care with the charge date, amount and your cancellation confirmation.
Sign in at hellofresh.com, click your name, choose Account Settings, scroll to Plan settings, click Manage under Subscription Status and follow the prompts until you see a confirmation.
11:59 PM Pacific time, five days before your next delivery. For a Tuesday delivery, that is the previous Thursday night.
Open your profile, go to Plan settings, then Subscription Status, and tap Manage or Cancel plan. If the option is hard to find, the website gives you the same settings in any phone browser.
Yes, it takes a few minutes online and there is no contract or cancellation fee. The hard part is the timing: anything after the 5 day cutoff applies to the following week.
Pause or skip individual weeks from your delivery calendar before each week’s cutoff. Deliveries resume automatically after a paused week, so skip every week you do not want.
HelloFresh’s terms list customer care at (646) 846-3663, and you can also cancel by emailing hello@hellofresh.com with your full name and account email. Online cancellation is faster.
No refund for a week already charged. Credits or refunds are possible for problems with a delivered box reported within five days.
Yes. A locked box is delivered as normal after you cancel.
No. Your account stays open so you can reactivate later. To delete it, send a privacy deletion request after cancelling.
Yes. Sign in, choose the reactivate option, pick your plan and choose recipes for the next available week. New customer discounts usually do not apply, though win-back offers are common.
