How To Cancel Hinge Subscription In 2026: Hinge+ And HingeX

Short answer: How to cancel Hinge subscription billing depends on who charges you: Apple (iPhone Settings or Apple’s subscriptions page), Google Play (the Play Store’s Subscriptions page), or Hinge payment powered by Stripe (Hinge app > Gear Icon > Cancel Subscription). Hinge says plans renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing period. The catch: deleting the app never cancels, and deleting your account only cancels a Hinge payment (Stripe) plan, not an Apple or Google one.

This guide explains how to cancel Hinge subscription plans of every kind, Hinge+ and HingeX, on every billing route, as of October 2026. Every step below was checked against Hinge’s own help center and Terms of Service. Most people pay through Apple or Google, which means the cancel button sits in your phone’s app store, not in Hinge. US iPhone users also have a third option, Hinge payment powered by Stripe, which is managed inside the Hinge app and behaves differently when you delete your account. We also cover refunds (including the 14-day window for Stripe purchases and a three-business-day right to cancel in 12 states), Roses and Boosts, and how Pause compares with deleting. For a wider look at recurring charges, see our guide on how to cancel subscriptions online.

What your statement or sign-up says Who bills you Where to cancel
“Apple.com/bill” or an App Store receipt; you chose “Subscribe with App Store” Apple iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Hinge
Google Play receipt; you subscribed on Android Google Play Store > Subscriptions > Hinge
A Hinge charge on your card; you chose “Hinge payment (powered by Stripe)” on iPhone Hinge, through Stripe Hinge app > Gear Icon > Cancel Subscription, or Hinge’s Stripe cancel link by email

Hinge+ And HingeX: What You Are Canceling

Hinge’s help center lists two paid tiers on top of the free app. The cancel steps are the same for both.

    Feature Hinge (free) Hinge+ HingeX
Match and message Yes Yes Yes
Unlimited likes No, limited daily likes Yes Yes
Undo skips 1 per week Unlimited Unlimited
See all incoming likes at once No Yes Yes
    Advanced filters No Yes Yes
See compatible people sooner, always-on Boost, Priority Likes No No Yes

Hinge sells four billing plans: weekly, monthly, three-month (billed upfront) and six-month (billed upfront). All of them auto-renew for the same length. Hinge does not publish prices in its help center, so check the amount on the Subscribe to Hinge screen or your receipt.

To see which plan you hold and when it renews, tap the Photo Icon (your status appears at the top left), then the Gear Icon and scroll to Subscription. Hinge notes your subscription status is private and not visible to other members.

Before you cancel, take two minutes to work out which billing route you used, because it decides everything that follows:

    1. Search your email for “Hinge”. An Apple receipt (from Apple, listing Hinge) means Apple bills you. A Google Play order receipt means Google bills you. A Hinge or Stripe receipt with an order number means you used Hinge payment.
    2. Look at your card statement. Apple charges usually appear as Apple, Google charges as Google, and Hinge payment charges as Hinge.
    3. Note the renewal date shown in Hinge’s Subscription section so you can cancel at least a day before it.
    4. If you use Roses or a Boost you have already bought, do it before your plan ends; they are not refundable.

Hinge’s help center also explains that a Stripe subscription has to be adjusted on the platform where it was bought, and that Hinge payment is limited to the US. If you changed your App Store region to another country, Hinge says you cannot upgrade through Hinge payment, so contact Hinge Support if that applies to you.

How To Cancel Hinge Subscription On iPhone (Apple)

If you picked “Subscribe with App Store” when you signed up, Apple bills you. Hinge says it cannot cancel or refund Apple purchases for you.

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    2. Tap your name.
    3. Tap Subscriptions.
    4. Tap Hinge.
    5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Hinge’s own help article links straight to Apple’s manage subscriptions page, which opens the same list. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Subscriptions. Apple says that if there is no cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled. Apple’s full instructions are on its cancel a subscription from Apple page. The same Apple menu is where you would cancel Apple TV or any other App Store subscription.

How To Cancel Hinge On Android (Google Play)

On Android, Hinge subscriptions are always billed through Google Play.

    1. Open Google Play’s subscriptions page, or open the Play Store and tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
    2. Tap Hinge.
    3. Tap Cancel Subscription.
    4. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm.

Use the same Google Account you subscribed with. Google states that uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription. If you have more than one Google Account on the phone, switch accounts from the profile icon and check each list; a Hinge plan that does not appear is almost always on another account. The same Play Store screen manages other Android subscriptions too, such as Spotify Premium or YouTube Premium if you bought them through Google.

How To Cancel A Hinge Payment (Stripe) Subscription

Hinge payment, powered by Stripe, is an option shown to iPhone users in the US. You pay Hinge directly, so you cancel inside Hinge rather than with Apple.

    1. Open the Hinge app.
    2. Tap the Photo Icon on the far right of the navigation bar.
    3. Tap the Gear Icon to open Account Settings.
    4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

No app? Hinge’s Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription article has a “Cancel your subscription” link that lets you cancel through Stripe using the email address where you receive Hinge subscription emails. Hinge also notes that a Stripe subscription started on an iPhone has to be managed from iOS, so if you have switched to Android, use the email link or an iPhone.

Two Stripe-specific points matter. First, deleting the Hinge app does not cancel it. Second, deleting your Hinge account does cancel a Stripe subscription immediately, and you lose any remaining paid time; Hinge says creating a new account in the same period will not restore it.

    Downgrading From HingeX To Hinge+

There is no one-tap downgrade. Hinge’s instructions are:

    1. Cancel HingeX using the route for your biller above, at least 24 hours before it renews.
    2. Wait for HingeX to end, then subscribe to Hinge+ from Gear Icon > Subscription > Subscribe to Hinge.

Going the other way, an upgrade from Hinge+ to HingeX starts immediately but keeps the same subscription length. Hinge says Apple gives a prorated refund for unused Hinge+ time and resets your billing date, Stripe applies leftover time as a credit, and Google credits the remaining time to the new plan.

Renewal Timing And What Happens After You Cancel

Hinge says subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the next billing period, and that renewal charges occur within 24 hours of the current period ending. That makes the last full day before your renewal date the real deadline. Cancel earlier if you can.

    • Access: Hinge’s terms say a canceled subscription is not renewed when the current term expires, so Hinge+ or HingeX features normally stay on until then.
    • Profile: canceling does not remove your profile. You return to the free tier when the term ends.
    • Exception for Stripe and account deletion: deleting your account ends a Stripe plan at once, with the remaining time lost.
    • Resubscribing: you can subscribe again at any time from the Subscription section of Account Settings.

Hinge Refunds: Apple, Google, Stripe And State Rights

Hinge’s terms say that generally all purchases are final and nonrefundable, but its help center lists several exceptions. Canceling and requesting a refund are separate steps, so cancel first and then request the refund.

    Apple Purchases

Hinge cannot refund iOS App Store purchases. Apple decides.

    1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in.
    2. Choose I’d like to > Request a refund.
    3. Pick a reason, select the Hinge charge and submit.

Apple says to expect an update within about 24 to 48 hours.

    Google Play Purchases

Google handles refunds for Android purchases. On play.google.com, open your profile, then Payments & subscriptions > Budget & order history, find the Hinge order and choose Report a problem. Google says to contact the developer if more than 48 hours have passed since an in-app purchase.

    Hinge Payment (Stripe) Purchases

Hinge says subscriptions bought through Hinge payment in the last 14 days can be refunded on request to its Support Team.

Three-Business-Day Right To Cancel In 12 States

Hinge’s terms and help center say residents of Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island and Wisconsin can cancel and get a full refund before midnight of the third business day after subscribing. How to use it:

    • Apple purchases: follow Apple’s refund process.
    • Hinge payment or Android purchases: mail or deliver a signed, dated written notice saying you are canceling, with the email or phone number on your Hinge account and your order number, to Hinge, Attn: Cancellations, P.O. Box 25472, Dallas, Texas 75225, USA.
    • California and Ohio residents may also email hello@hinge.co or fax (972) 892-9570.

Roses, Boosts And Other Virtual Items

Hinge’s help center says any purchase of virtual items, such as a Rose or Boost, is final and nonrefundable, and its terms say the same in capital letters. Roses are sold in packs of 3, 12 or 50, and a Boost lasts one hour (a Superboost 24 hours), so use them before you go.

Hinge’s help center also mentions refund eligibility in a few special cases, for example if you subscribed and then could not pass Face Check where it is required, or if you were placed back on a regional waitlist after buying. Contact Support in those situations.

    Cancel Vs Pause Vs Delete

Hinge’s three off switches do very different things to your bill.

Option Stops billing? Profile visible? Matches Undo?
Cancel subscription Yes, from the next billing period Yes, on the free tier after the term Kept Resubscribe any time
Pause No. Hinge says pausing your account will not pause your subscription No new people are shown your profile Kept; likes you sent before pausing can still turn into matches Turn Pause off or tap Unpause Profile
Delete account (Apple or Google billing) No. You must still cancel in the store No Removed No
Delete account (Hinge payment / Stripe) Yes, immediately, with remaining time lost No Removed No, a new account needs a new subscription
Delete the app No, on any billing route Yes, your account still exists Kept Reinstall

To pause: tap the Photo Icon, then the Gear Icon, and turn on the Pause switch. To delete: tap the Photo Icon, the Gear Icon, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete Account and follow the prompts. Hinge says uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

    Troubleshooting

    Problem Why it happens Fix
No Cancel Subscription option in Hinge You pay Apple or Google, not Hinge Cancel in iPhone Settings or the Play Store
Hinge is missing from my Apple Subscriptions You chose Hinge payment (Stripe), or used another Apple Account Check for a Hinge card charge and cancel in Hinge’s Account Settings
I switched to Android and cannot manage my Stripe plan Stripe plans started on iOS must be managed from iOS Use Hinge’s Stripe cancel link with your subscription email, or an iPhone
I deleted my account and still got billed Account deletion does not stop Apple or Google billing Cancel in the store, then request a refund there
I paused and was still charged Pause does not pause a subscription Cancel the subscription separately
I was charged on the renewal day Canceled less than 24 hours before the billing period Cancel now to stop the next one, then ask Apple, Google or Hinge Support about the charge
Hinge+ and HingeX both seem active Upgrade or resubscribe created overlap Check the Subscription section and your store receipts, then contact Hinge Support

If Your Subscription Will Not Cancel

Save screenshots of the cancel confirmation, receipt emails and any support ticket numbers. If charges continue after you have canceled with the correct biller, dispute them through Apple, Google or your card issuer, and ask your bank about blocking future charges from that merchant as a last resort. You can report a business that keeps billing you after cancellation to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or to your state attorney general.

The FTC’s nationwide click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit in July 2025, but the federal Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA) still covers online subscriptions, and California and other states have automatic renewal laws. This is general information, not legal advice.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel my Hinge subscription?

Cancel with whoever bills you: iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions for Apple, the Play Store’s Subscriptions page for Google, or Hinge app > Gear Icon > Cancel Subscription for Hinge payment (Stripe).

How to cancel Hinge without the app?

Apple and Google subscriptions can be canceled from Apple’s or Google’s subscription pages on any device. For a Stripe plan, use the “Cancel your subscription” link in Hinge’s help center with the email address that gets your Hinge subscription emails.

    How do I cancel HingeX?

HingeX cancels exactly like Hinge+. If you want to keep Hinge+, cancel HingeX first and subscribe to Hinge+ after it ends.

Does deleting Hinge cancel my subscription?

Deleting the app never does. Deleting your account cancels only a Hinge payment (Stripe) plan; Apple and Google plans keep billing until you cancel them in the store.

    Does pausing Hinge stop payments?

No. Hinge says pausing your account will not pause your subscription.

When is the deadline to cancel Hinge?

At least 24 hours before the next billing period, according to Hinge.

Can I get a refund on Hinge?

Hinge payment purchases from the last 14 days can be refunded through Hinge Support, Apple and Google review their own requests, and residents of 12 US states have a three-business-day right to cancel with a full refund.

    Are Roses and Boosts refundable?

No. Hinge says virtual items such as Roses and Boosts are final and nonrefundable.

Will I keep Hinge+ until the end of my billing period?

Yes, normally. Hinge’s terms say a canceled subscription simply is not renewed when the current term ends, unless you delete your account on a Stripe plan.

Can I cancel Hinge subscription on a computer?

Yes for Apple (App Store on a Mac or Apple’s account website) and Google (play.google.com). Stripe plans are canceled in the iPhone app or through Hinge’s emailed Stripe link.

    The Short Version

    1. Check your receipt: Apple, Google Play or Hinge payment (Stripe).
    2. Cancel there: iPhone Settings, the Play Store, or Hinge > Gear Icon > Cancel Subscription.
    3. Do it at least 24 hours before the next billing period and screenshot the confirmation.
    4. Request a refund separately if you qualify, through Apple, Google or Hinge Support.
    5. Pause or delete your account afterwards if you like, knowing neither replaces canceling.
