Benjamin Whitehouse
Founder, CEO & Director, Viden Group | Founder, Process AI Pty Ltd
Chartered Accountant merging science, finance and AI to reshape SME advisory.
“The future of accounting isn’t about replacing judgment with technology. It’s about building systems precise enough, and honest enough, to earn a business owner’s trust before a crisis ever arrives.”
Benjamin Whitehouse is an Australian business leader whose career sits at the intersection of science, finance, and advanced technology. Born on 30 November 1965, his path to becoming one of the sector’s most distinctive Strategic Advisers began not in accounting, but in the laboratory.
Benjamin completed a Bachelor of Science with majors in Biochemistry and Zoology, followed by a Master of Science (Qualifying) in Biochemistry, and spent six years working within the biochemistry and genetic engineering industries. That early scientific training instilled a rigor and systems-based approach to problem solving that would go on to define his entire career.
Recognising the commercial application of his analytical strengths, Benjamin transitioned into accounting, completing a Graduate Diploma of Accounting and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. Over more than three decades, Ben Whitehouse has built an extensive advisory career centered on taxation, complex business structuring, corporate development, and finance, guiding businesses of all sizes through capital raising, transformation planning, and strategic decision-making.
Benjamin is the Founder, CEO, and current Director of the Viden Group, a collection of entities spanning advisory, investment, and development activities. He was also a founding director and shareholder of ABL Corp Ltd, an Australian finance company, helping establish and grow the business before stepping down from the board.
In recent years, Benjamin Whitehouse has turned his focus to the convergence of accounting and artificial intelligence. He founded Process AI Pty Ltd, a technology company that developed an advanced Accounts Payable automation system for Xero, capable of processing every invoice line item, managing purchase orders, and intelligently matching supplier identities and bank accounts to reduce errors and phishing risk. Building on that platform, he is now developing a fully autonomous, AI-driven accounting and analytical system, deliberately designed without a traditional interface, intended to give SMEs and their advisers earlier visibility into financial stress before it becomes a crisis.
Outside of business, Benjamin has been married for 32 years and is the father of three grown daughters. He divides his time between work and family, and outside the office is known for hands-on building, plastering, and renovation projects, as well as long-distance running and mountain biking. He has completed more than eight 100km Oxfam Trailwalker events and four 96km Kokoda Challenges, helping raise over $20,000 for charitable causes along the way.
