Short answer: sign in to the SiriusXM Online Account Center, open the Subscriptions tab, choose the plan and follow the cancel prompts. If you prefer to talk to someone, call 1-866-635-8641 (8am to 8pm ET, every day) or use the 24/7 online chat. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. If Apple, Google, Roku or T-Mobile bills you, cancel there instead.
SiriusXM had a reputation for being one of the hardest subscriptions in the US to leave. For years the only real routes were a phone call or a chat with an agent trained to keep you, and in November 2024 a New York court agreed with the state Attorney General that the process was unlawfully burdensome. Today SiriusXM’s own help centre lists an online cancellation route for accounts it bills directly, so most people no longer need to sit through a retention script.
This guide covers every route: online, phone and chat, app store and partner billing, car trials that start charging, accounts with several radios or vehicles, app-only streaming plans, what to say when you are offered a lower price, refunds on prepaid plans, and what to do when you sell a car that has SiriusXM.
SiriusXM can only cancel what SiriusXM bills. Check the charge on your card or bank statement before you start, because it tells you where the cancel button actually lives.
| What your statement says | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
| SIRIUSXM, SIRIUS XM RADIO or similar | SiriusXM directly | Online Account Center, phone or chat |
| APPLE.COM/BILL | Apple App Store | iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions |
| GOOGLE *SiriusXM | Google Play | Play Store, then Payments and subscriptions |
| ROKU | Roku | my.roku.com on a computer or phone, not the TV app |
| T-MOBILE (on your phone bill) | T-Mobile | T-Mobile account, then Manage Add-ons, or call 611 |
| No SiriusXM charge at all | A car maker’s prepaid trial | Nothing to cancel; most vehicle trials simply end |
SiriusXM simplified its line-up into a small number of plans. These are the standard US prices on SiriusXM’s plans page as of October 2026, after the introductory offer ends. Older plans such as Music & Entertainment or Platinum may still be on your account at a different rate, so the price on your own bill is the one that counts.
| Plan | Where you listen | Standard US price | Typical intro offer |
| All Music | Car radio and app | $11.99 a month | $1 for 3 months |
| All Music plus add-ons | Car radio and app | $11.99 plus Sports $8, News $5 or Talk $5 a month | Varies |
| All Access | Car radio and app | $25.99 a month | $1 for 3 months |
| All Access (App Only) | App and home devices only | $11.99 a month | $1 for 3 months |
| SiriusXM Sports Pass | App | $5 a month | 1 month free |
Two things push the real bill higher than the headline. Satellite plans that include music carry a US Music Royalty Fee, which SiriusXM lists as 19.98% of the plan price (8.8% on streaming plans), plus taxes. And every plan, including the $1 intro offers, renews automatically at the full rate until you cancel.
SiriusXM’s customer agreement says you must cancel at least 24 hours before your upcoming renewal date to avoid being renewed. Apple and Google billing use the same 24 hour cutoff.
Yes, you can cancel SiriusXM online in 2026, as long as SiriusXM bills you directly. The New York ruling only ordered changes for New York customers, but SiriusXM’s US help centre now lists the Online Account Center as a cancellation route for direct-billed subscriptions generally. This is the easiest way to cancel SiriusXM without calling.
If the online flow sends you to chat or a phone number instead of finishing the cancellation, use the chat route below. Chat leaves a written record, which matters if you need to dispute a charge later.
The phone number to cancel a SiriusXM subscription, listed on SiriusXM’s cancellation help page, is 1-866-635-8641. Listener Care is open from 8am to 8pm Eastern time, seven days a week. Aviation and marine subscriptions have their own line, 1-800-985-9200.
Expect offers. The New York Attorney General’s case described agents working through a scripted conversation with as many as five retention offers before processing a cancellation. You do not have to accept any of them.
SiriusXM’s contact page offers online chat around the clock, which makes it the best option late at night or if you want a transcript.
If you subscribed inside an app or through a partner, SiriusXM cannot end the billing. Cancel with the company that charges you.
Roku subscriptions cannot be cancelled inside the SiriusXM channel. Sign in at my.roku.com on a computer or phone, open Manage your subscriptions, and cancel SiriusXM there. If SiriusXM came as a T-Mobile add-on, sign in to your T-Mobile account, go to Manage Add-ons and deselect SiriusXM, or call 611 from your T-Mobile phone.
In each case the subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for, and refund requests go to Apple, Google, Roku or T-Mobile rather than SiriusXM.
This is where most confusion starts, because there are two very different kinds of “free trial”.
| Trial type | How you got it | Does it start charging? | What to do |
| Vehicle trial | Came with a new or used car, no card given | No. SiriusXM’s agreement says these do not renew automatically | Nothing, unless you want the marketing calls and mail to stop |
| Converted trial | You gave a card during the trial to lock in an offer | Yes, at the offer rate and then the full rate | Cancel online, by phone or by chat before renewal |
| Paid intro offer | $1 for 3 months or similar on siriusxm.com | Yes, at the full monthly price | Cancel at least 24 hours before the intro period ends |
| App free trial | Started in the app through Apple or Google | Yes, unless cancelled | Cancel in the app store |
If you never gave SiriusXM a payment method, a vehicle trial ends on its own and you cannot be charged for it. The trouble comes when a trial-ending call or letter offers a discount and you hand over a card: that creates a normal auto-renewing subscription, often at a low rate for a few months and then at the standard price. If you are unsure which you have, sign in to the Online Account Center and look at the plan name and whether a payment method is on file.
To stop the trial-ending marketing calls, ask Listener Care to add your number to their do-not-call list when you speak to them.
SiriusXM’s customer agreement says each radio needs its own subscription. One account can therefore hold several separate plans, each tied to a different Radio ID, and cancelling one does not cancel the others.
App-only plans such as All Access (App Only) are the simplest to end. SiriusXM’s customer agreement says streaming subscriptions can be cancelled by signing in to your online account and following the cancellation instructions. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.
One catch: if you have a car plan, app streaming is usually included in it. Cancelling a separate streaming plan does not touch the car plan, and cancelling the car plan ends app access too. If you only want to drop the car side and keep listening on your phone, ask to switch to the app-only plan rather than cancelling outright.
SiriusXM’s standard prices are high, and its retention team has room to discount. Many customers report being offered several months at a much lower monthly rate when they ask to cancel. Whether you want that deal or not, it helps to know how the conversation works.
If you just want out, say “I am not interested in any offers, please cancel my subscription” and repeat it. That is all the conversation needs.
This catches out a lot of people. SiriusXM’s customer agreement says that selling, losing or trading in a vehicle, or simply not using the service, does not cancel a paid subscription. If you sell the car and do nothing, you keep paying for a radio you no longer own.
Vehicle trials work the other way: they are attached to the car, so a trial ends when you sell or return the vehicle, and it cannot be transferred. SiriusXM asks you to call 1-866-741-7474 to update the account in that case.
Cancelling stops billing. Deleting your personal data is a separate privacy request. Most people only need the first one.
| Cancel subscription | Request data deletion | |
| Stops charges | Yes, at the end of the period | Cancel first; deletion is not a billing tool |
| Keeps account history | Yes | No |
| Easy to rejoin | Yes, sign in and pick a plan | You start again with a new account |
| Stops marketing | Not on its own; ask to opt out | Usually, once processed |
| Where to do it | Online Account Center, phone or chat | The privacy choices page on siriusxm.com |
If you plan to request deletion, cancel every subscription first and wait for confirmation, so no plan is left renewing on an account you can no longer sign in to.
Sometimes, and it depends on how quickly you cancel. SiriusXM’s customer agreement sets out these windows:
| Plan type | Refund window | After the window |
| Monthly plan | Pro-rata refund if you cancel within 7 days of the start date and ask for it | Non-refundable; runs to the end of the month |
| Quarterly, annual or other prepaid plan | Pro-rata refund if you cancel within 30 days of the start of the period | Non-refundable; runs to the end of the term |
| Vehicle trial or extended dealer plan | Not eligible for refund, cash or credit | Ends with the term or when you sell the car |
| Apple, Google or Roku billing | Their refund rules apply | Ask the app store, not SiriusXM |
The key word is “requested”. A refund inside those windows is not automatic, so ask for it explicitly when you cancel and get the amount confirmed. If you prepaid for a year and are past the 30 day mark, the money for the rest of the term is generally gone, though you will keep service until it ends.
If you were charged for a subscription you never agreed to, such as a trial you did not convert, say so plainly to Listener Care and keep the chat transcript. A chargeback with your bank is the last step, not the first.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| No cancel option online | Apple, Google, Roku or T-Mobile bills you | Cancel where the billing lives (table at the top) |
| Charged after cancelling one car | Another radio on the account is still active | Check every Radio ID on the Subscriptions tab |
| Charged after selling the car | Selling a car does not cancel the plan | Cancel or transfer, then ask about a refund if within the window |
| Charged right after cancelling | You cancelled less than 24 hours before renewal | Contact Listener Care with your confirmation number |
| Bill higher than the advertised price | Music Royalty Fee, taxes or a promo ending | Check the bill breakdown; negotiate or cancel |
| Charged after a car trial | You gave a card during the trial | Cancel now and ask for a 7 day refund if it was a new monthly plan |
| Charge you do not recognise | A second account on an old email or a used car | Search your email for SiriusXM account numbers and call Listener Care |
Sign in to the Online Account Center, open the Subscriptions tab and cancel the plan, or call 1-866-635-8641 or use the 24/7 chat. If an app store or partner bills you, cancel with them.
