Short answer: How to cancel STARZ depends on who bills you. If you pay STARZ directly, sign in at starz.com, open Settings and choose Cancel Subscription; if you pay through Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Roku, Hulu, YouTube TV or a cable company, you have to cancel there instead. Either way, STARZ says you keep watching until the end of your current billing cycle, so cancel at least a day before your renewal date. The catch: deleting the app does not cancel anything.
STARZ is sold in more places than almost any other streaming service: on its own website, inside the Apple and Google app stores, as an Amazon Prime Video Channel, as an add-on to Hulu, YouTube TV and Sling, and through cable and satellite providers. That is why so many people search for how to cancel STARZ and then cannot find the button. This guide uses STARZ’s own help articles, checked on 9 October 2026, to show the exact route for each place you might be billed. If you are cutting several services at once, our guide on how to cancel subscriptions online covers the bigger clean-up.
| What your statement says or where you signed up | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
|---|---|---|
| STARZ or starz.com | STARZ | starz.com, Settings, Cancel Subscription |
| Amazon, Prime Video Channels, or AMZN Digital | Amazon | amazon.com/myvs (Your Channels) or Amazon app store subscriptions |
| Apple.com/bill or the App Store | Apple | Subscriptions in your Apple Account settings |
| Google Play | Play Store, Subscriptions | |
| Roku | Roku | Roku device or my.roku.com |
| Hulu | Hulu | Your Hulu account’s add-ons |
| YouTube TV or Sling TV | YouTube TV or Sling | That service’s membership or add-on settings |
| Samsung or Microsoft | Samsung or Microsoft | samsungcheckout.com or account.microsoft.com |
| Your cable or satellite bill | Your TV provider | Contact the provider |
If STARZ bills you directly (the charge on your card says STARZ), the web is the route STARZ itself recommends in its help article How do I cancel my STARZ subscription.
If you do not see a Billing Plan section or a cancel button, STARZ is probably not the company billing you. Check the table above and your bank statement to find the right route.
For a direct STARZ subscription, you can start from the mobile app, though it hands you off to the browser to finish.
If you subscribed inside the app on an iPhone or Android phone, the app store bills you, not STARZ. Use the Apple or Google Play steps below instead.
Amazon is one of the most common places to pick up STARZ, often through a cheap Prime Video Channels promotion. STARZ’s help article on cancelling STARZ through Amazon describes two different Amazon routes, depending on how you signed up.
Either way, STARZ says you keep access until the end of the current billing cycle. Cancelling the STARZ channel does not cancel Amazon Prime itself. If you also want to end Prime, see our guide to cancel Amazon Prime. Note that some Amazon households have more than one Amazon account; if STARZ is not listed, sign in with the other one.
If your statement shows Apple, Apple bills you, and only Apple can stop the renewal. Apple’s cancel a subscription page gives this path:
On an Apple TV, STARZ’s own Apple help article says to open Settings, select Users & Accounts, choose your account, select Subscriptions, then STARZ, then Cancel Subscription. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Subscriptions. You can also manage it in a browser at account.apple.com.
Apple notes that if there is no cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled. If you are on a free trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before it ends. If you are also paying for Apple’s own service, our guide to cancel Apple TV covers that separately.
STARZ’s Google subscription help article and Google’s own cancel a subscription page describe the same steps.
On a computer, go to play.google.com, open your subscriptions, find STARZ and click Cancel. Google says uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription, and you can keep using what you have already paid for until the period ends.
STARZ’s Roku help article gives two ways:
STARZ’s Samsung article says to cancel on a computer at samsungcheckout.com: log in, open your purchase history, go to subscriptions, find STARZ and select unsubscribe. On the TV itself, the path runs through Settings, General, System Manager, Samsung Account, then payment information and purchase history.
In all three cases, STARZ says access continues until the end of the current billing cycle.
When STARZ is an add-on to another streaming service, you remove the add-on in that service. Your base plan stays active.
From STARZ’s YouTube TV add-on article:
To drop YouTube TV entirely, see our guide to cancel YouTube TV.
Hulu sells STARZ as a premium add-on on top of a Hulu base plan. Hulu’s STARZ page says it bills after a 7-day free trial for new add-on subscribers unless you cancel. To remove it, sign in to your Hulu account in a web browser, open the section that manages your plan and add-ons, and remove STARZ. Your Hulu plan continues. The Hulu Help Center has the current menu labels. If you want to leave Hulu as well, our guide to cancel Hulu walks through it.
STARZ is also sold as a premium channel by cable and satellite companies. STARZ’s own support site tells customers who get STARZ through a cable or satellite provider to contact that provider about what their package includes. If STARZ appears on your cable or satellite bill, the provider is the one that bills you, so the provider is the one that cancels it.
If you watch the STARZ app by signing in with your cable or satellite login, the charge still comes from your provider. Removing STARZ from your package with the provider is what stops it.
Every STARZ cancellation article we checked says the same thing: when you cancel, you keep access to STARZ until the end of your current billing cycle. That means:
STARZ’s help articles on cancelling do not promise refunds for unused time. Their consistent message is that you keep access until the end of the billing period instead. Where you can get money back depends on who billed you:
| Option | What it does | Stops billing? | When to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel the subscription | Stops the next renewal; access runs to the end of the cycle | Yes, from the next billing date | You are done with STARZ |
| Remove the STARZ add-on | Drops STARZ from Hulu, YouTube TV, Sling or Amazon; base service stays | Yes, for STARZ only | You want to keep the main service |
| Delete the STARZ app | Removes the app from your device | No | Only after you have cancelled |
| Sign out on a device | Removes access on that device | No | Selling or sharing a device |
| Remove STARZ from your cable package | Changes your cable or satellite plan | Yes, per your provider’s billing | STARZ is on your TV bill |
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Cancel Subscription button on starz.com | Someone else bills you (Amazon, Apple, Google, Roku, a cable provider) | Check your bank statement for the merchant name and use that company’s route |
| STARZ not listed in Amazon Your Channels | You subscribed through the Amazon app store, or on another Amazon account | Check amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions, then try other household Amazon logins |
| Still charged after deleting the app | Deleting an app never cancels a subscription | Cancel through the company that bills you |
| Charged after you cancelled | You cancelled after the renewal date, or the cancellation did not complete | Check your confirmation email date and contact the billing company with it |
| Two STARZ charges in one month | You subscribed in two places, such as starz.com and Amazon | Cancel both, then ask the later one for a refund |
| Locked content after cancelling cable STARZ | Your provider’s package no longer includes it | Expected; no action needed unless you still see a STARZ charge |
| Apple shows no cancel button | The subscription is already cancelled or expired | Look for the red expiration message in Subscriptions |
Keep a written record: screenshots of the cancellation, confirmation emails, dates and the names of anyone you spoke with. If charges continue, send the billing company a short written complaint with that record, and ask your card issuer or bank to dispute the charge or block the merchant as a backstop. You can also report the problem to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to your state attorney general.
The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit in July 2025, but the federal Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA) still requires a simple way to stop recurring online charges, and California and many other states have automatic renewal laws. This is general information, not legal advice.
Cancel with whoever bills you. For a direct subscription, log in at starz.com, open Settings and select Cancel Subscription under Billing Plan & Information.
Go to amazon.com/myvs, find STARZ under Your Channels and select Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed in the STARZ app on a Fire TV or Kindle, cancel at amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions instead.
Yes. STARZ subscriptions can be cancelled whenever you like, and you keep access until the end of your current billing cycle.
Usually because a third party bills you, such as Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Roku or your cable company. Check your bank statement for the merchant name and cancel there.
STARZ’s help pages do not promise refunds for partial months; you keep watching until the period ends instead. Apple and Google run their own refund request processes for charges they collected.
Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose STARZ and tap Cancel Subscription.
Highlight the STARZ app on the Roku home screen, press the * button, choose Manage Subscription and then Cancel Subscription. You can also unsubscribe from your Roku account online.
Remove STARZ from the add-ons in your Hulu account, or in YouTube TV go to Settings, Membership and clear the checkmark next to STARZ. Your base plan stays active.
No. A Prime Video Channel is a separate subscription, so Prime keeps renewing until you cancel it on its own.
No. Deleting the app only removes it from your device, and billing continues until you cancel with the company that charges you.
Contact your cable or satellite provider and ask to remove the STARZ premium channel. STARZ cannot change a package it does not bill.
