Short answer: To cancel WeightWatchers, sign in at weightwatchers.com and use the cancel option in your account (the official cancellation page is weightwatchers.com/us/cancellation), or call Customer Care at 1-800-651-6000. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. The catch: on a 6-month or 12-month commitment plan, cancelling only stops the renewal, and your monthly charges continue until the commitment period ends.
This guide shows you how to cancel Weight Watchers on every billing route that exists in 2026: the website, the mobile app, Apple, Google Play, phone and chat, plus the separate clinical program (Med+ and the WeightWatchers Clinic). The company now markets itself as WeightWatchers again after several years as “WW”, and it went through a pre-packaged Chapter 11 reorganization in 2025, filing in May and exiting court supervision on June 24, 2025. The company said at the time that members and their plans would not be affected, and the cancellation rules below come from the membership agreements it updated on February 9, 2026. Nothing here is medical advice: if you take a prescribed weight-loss medication, talk to your prescriber before you change anything about your care.
Before you cancel, check who actually takes your money. The company that bills you is the company that has to stop the renewal.
| What your statement or sign-up says | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
|---|---|---|
| WeightWatchers, WW, or WW International | WeightWatchers directly | Your account on weightwatchers.com or in the app, or Customer Care at 1-800-651-6000 |
| Apple, iTunes, or App Store | Apple | Settings, your name, Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad |
| Google Play | The Google Play subscriptions page | |
| Med+ or WeightWatchers Clinic membership | WeightWatchers (clinical services through the affiliated WeightWatchers Clinic) | Your account, your Care Team, Customer Service, or the email listed in the Clinic agreement |
| A pharmacy or insurer charge for a GLP-1 medication | The pharmacy (medication is billed separately from membership) | The pharmacy or your prescriber, not WeightWatchers |
| An employer or university wellness program | Usually your employer’s plan, with a WW contact line in the program materials | The support number in your employer’s WW materials |
The website is the fastest route for anyone who pays WeightWatchers directly by card. The US membership agreement says you can cancel “by selecting that option in the protected areas” of the site or app, which means you need to be signed in.
If you are cancelling several subscriptions at once, our guide on how to cancel subscriptions online covers how to find every recurring charge on your cards first.
The same membership can be cancelled from inside the WeightWatchers mobile app, as long as you originally paid WeightWatchers directly (not Apple or Google). The agreement names the app’s signed-in area as an official cancellation route.
If the app sends you to Apple or Google instead of showing a cancel button, your plan is billed by the app store. Use the matching section below. Deleting the app never cancels anything.
If you bought the subscription inside the iOS app, Apple bills you and only Apple can stop the renewal. These are Apple’s own steps from its subscription help page:
Note that the WeightWatchers agreement says purchases made in the iOS app are not refundable by WeightWatchers and are subject to Apple’s terms. Any refund request for an Apple charge goes to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Apple decides it.
For a subscription bought through Google Play, follow Google’s cancellation steps:
Google is explicit that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
If the website will not cooperate, or you want a person to confirm the cancellation, use one of the other routes WeightWatchers lists.
WeightWatchers now sells several programs: the Core Program, Core+, Core+ Menopause, GLP-1 Success (support for people taking a GLP-1 from any prescriber), Support for Diabetes, and Med+, the clinical program where clinicians at the affiliated WeightWatchers Clinic can prescribe weight-loss medication. Med+ and other clinical services fall under a separate WeightWatchers Clinic Membership Agreement, and its cancellation rules are slightly different.
Two money points to know before you cancel a clinical plan. First, the initial consultation fee is not refundable. Second, the agreement says members are not refunded any fees even if a prescribed medication is unavailable. Med+ plans listed on the WeightWatchers site run on 6-month or 12-month terms that auto-renew for another term at the same monthly rate unless you cancel, so set a reminder well before your term ends.
This guide does not cover whether to stop or change any medication. That is a decision for you and your clinician.
When your cancellation takes effect depends on the plan you bought. WeightWatchers’ own cancellation page sets out three cases:
| Plan type | When cancellation takes effect |
|---|---|
| Standard one-month plan | At the end of the membership month in which you cancel |
| Commitment plan (multi-month) | At the end of the commitment period. If you cancel after the commitment ends, at the end of that membership month |
| Pre-pay savings plan | At the end of the initial plan period. After that, at the end of the membership month in which you cancel |
Is there an early termination fee? The current US agreements do not name a separate early termination fee. What they say is that on a commitment plan you keep paying the monthly fee until the commitment period ends, and that WeightWatchers can collect fees, surcharges or costs incurred before your cancellation takes effect. In practice, cancelling month 3 of a 12-month plan stops the renewal but does not stop months 4 through 12.
Renewals are automatic. The agreement says WeightWatchers charges your card at the start of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal period begins, and that prepaid, commitment or discounted plans renew at standard rates once they end. WeightWatchers must give at least 30 days’ written notice before changing subscription fees.
After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Your account is not deleted automatically. If you also want your data gone, see the comparison table below. If you are cutting several health and fitness costs at once, our guide to cancelling a Planet Fitness membership covers a gym contract with similar notice rules, and if a meal kit was part of your plan, here is how to cancel HelloFresh before its weekly cutoff.
The default rule in the US membership agreement is strict: the subscription fee is not refundable or cancellable once a billing period has started. There are a few exceptions written into the agreement:
WeightWatchers may charge an administrative fee where the law allows it. App store purchases follow Apple’s or Google’s refund process, not WeightWatchers’. On clinical plans, the consultation fee is non-refundable and fees are not refunded because a medication is unavailable.
| Option | What it does | Billing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel membership | Stops renewal; access runs to the end of the paid period or commitment | Stops after the current period or commitment ends | You are done with the program |
| Switch plans | The cancellation page lets you switch instead of cancel, for example to a different program | New plan price applies | You want a cheaper or different program, such as moving off a clinical plan |
| Cancel in the app store | Stops an Apple or Google subscription | Stops at the end of the app store billing period | You subscribed in the iOS or Android app |
| Delete your data | Asks WeightWatchers to delete personal information, through Account Settings, privacy@ww.com, or 1-800-651-6000 | Does not cancel a membership by itself; cancel first | You want your account and tracking history gone |
The privacy policy says WeightWatchers may verify your identity before deleting data and may keep some records where the law requires. Clinic patient information covered by HIPAA follows a separate privacy notice.
| Problem | Why it happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No cancel button in your account | The plan is billed by Apple or Google, or you are signed in to a different account | Check your bank statement for the biller, then cancel with Apple or Google, or sign in with the email that matches the charge |
| You cancelled but still get charged monthly | You are inside a 6-month or 12-month commitment period | Check the commitment end date in your account; charges stop after it. Call 1-800-651-6000 if a charge falls after that date |
| Charged after the cancellation date | The request was not processed, or it was made after the renewal started | Contact Customer Service for a reversal with your confirmation screenshot; do not use the service in the new period |
| Deleted the app, still billed | Deleting the app does not cancel any subscription | Cancel through your account, Apple or Google |
| Still paying for medication after cancelling Med+ | Medication is billed separately by the pharmacy | Cancel refills with the pharmacy and speak to your prescriber about your care |
| Need a prescription transferred after cancelling | Clinic providers do not send transfers for members who unsubscribed within the past 30 days | Arrange the transfer with your prescriber before you cancel |
| Employer program still active | Wellness plans are managed through your employer’s contract | Use the support line in your employer’s WW materials or ask HR |
Put your request in writing (chat transcript, email or tracked letter to the Customer Care address) and keep every confirmation. If charges continue after your cancellation date, ask your card issuer to dispute them or block future charges from the merchant, but only as a backstop, because a block does not end a commitment you agreed to.
You can also report the problem to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or to your state attorney general. The FTC’s 2024 “click-to-cancel” rule was vacated by the Eighth Circuit in July 2025, but the federal Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA) still requires a simple way to stop recurring online charges, and California and several other states have their own automatic renewal laws. This is general information, not legal advice.
Sign in at weightwatchers.com (start from weightwatchers.com/us/cancellation) or in the app and choose the cancel option, or call 1-800-651-6000. If Apple or Google bills you, cancel in your device’s subscription settings instead.
Open your profile or account settings in the WeightWatchers app and use the cancel option for your membership. If the app sends you to the App Store or Google Play, your subscription is billed there and must be cancelled there.
You can submit a cancellation at any time, but it only takes effect at the end of your current month, or at the end of the commitment period on a 6-month or 12-month plan. You keep paying until then.
The current US agreements do not list a separate early termination fee. Instead, a commitment plan keeps billing monthly until the commitment ends, and WeightWatchers can collect fees or costs incurred before the cancellation takes effect.
Usually not for a period that has already started. Refunds are available within 3 days of your first purchase (or longer where state law requires), and pro-rata refunds apply in listed cases such as a medical reason.
No. Deleting the app leaves the subscription running. You have to cancel through your account, Apple, or Google.
Use the cancel option in your account, message your Care Team, contact Customer Service, or email the address listed in the Clinic agreement. Arrange any prescription handover with your prescriber first, because transfers are not sent for members who unsubscribed in the past 30 days.
Yes. WeightWatchers completed a pre-packaged Chapter 11 reorganization in 2025, exiting court supervision on June 24, 2025, and said member plans would not be affected. Memberships, the app, workshops and the clinical program continue to be sold.
WeightWatchers says it tries to process cancellation requests within 72 hours. Check your account and email after three days and follow up if you see no confirmation.
The US membership agreement recommends cancelling your membership until your healthcare provider advises you to resume. Cancelling for a medical reason can also qualify you for a pro-rata refund of unused time.
For standard memberships, use the website, app, phone or chat. For clinical memberships, the Clinic agreement lists an email address (hello@joinsequence.com) among the cancellation methods.
