Most AI projects stall on the data, not the model. Agents and copilots need clean tables, documented business definitions, access rules and a retrieval layer they can query.
That is the work of AI-ready data platform engineering: building the pipelines, warehouses or lakehouses, governance and vector stores that let models read company data safely. This list is for buyers who already know they want AI and now need the foundation under it.
We picked firms that publish dedicated data platform services, name the stacks they work in (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, dbt and the like), show case studies with numbers, and hold verifiable partner status. We checked every company on its own website in October 2026. If you also need the application layer on top, see our list of RAG and vector search development firms.

phData is a data and AI services firm headquartered in Minneapolis, with delivery offices in Bangalore and Montevideo. It is one of the most decorated partners in the modern data stack: its site lists Snowflake Elite status with seven Snowflake Partner of the Year awards, dbt Visionary status with four dbt Partner of the Year awards, AWS Premier Tier, and Anthropic Preferred Partner.
The service menu covers data engineering, on-premises and cloud-to-cloud migrations, AI and machine learning, generative AI and an Elastic Operations practice that runs data infrastructure after launch. Its 3-2-1 GO offer is a fixed-fee, four-week sprint to a deployed MVP, which suits teams that want proof before a larger budget. Published work includes a cruise line modernization on Snowflake that halved batch processing time and an AI agent platform for a meal delivery company built in seven weeks on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
Pick phData if your warehouse already runs on Snowflake and dbt and you want one partner for both the data foundation and the first agents on top of it.
Aimpoint Digital was founded in 2017 and passed 200 employees in 2026. It lists offices in Atlanta, Boston, London and Medellín. The firm holds a long list of platform awards on its site: Databricks Digital Native Partner of the Year for 2024, 2025 and 2026, Snowflake Elite Services Partner, Dataiku Elite Services Partner and SI Americas Partner of the Year, and dbt Labs Innovation Partner of the Year.
What sets it apart is tooling. SQLift speeds migrations to Databricks, FROST Suite automates Snowflake deployment and migration, and a Data Quality App monitors pipelines. In one case study, Aimpoint moved more than 350 SQL objects for a global manufacturer with zero downtime for over 950 business users and built more than 20 semantic models that power Databricks Genie. In another, it restarted a stalled Databricks migration for a healthtech company and pushed nearly 30 pipelines to production.
Indicium AI is the combined firm formed when New York based Indicium joined London based Mesh-AI, a deal announced in November 2025. It now lists more than 600 data and AI specialists, with offices in New York, London, Lisbon, São Paulo and Florianópolis. Databricks Ventures invested in Indicium in September 2025, and the firm says it has delivered hundreds of Databricks projects. Anthropic, AWS and Microsoft also appear as partners.
The Design and Build practice covers secure data platforms and the AI products that run on them. Two named case studies show the pattern: a governed AI platform for energy trader SEFE that supports more than 30 use cases, and a regulator-ready AI platform built with AWS for Experian. Industry focus includes financial services and insurance, energy and utilities, and healthcare.
Choose Indicium AI for multi-year platform programs where governance has to satisfy a regulator as well as an internal data team.
Hiflylabs is a Budapest data and AI consultancy with offices in Vienna, London and Jersey City. It reports more than 250 data and technology experts, more than 50 certified Databricks professionals, and more than 500 projects across the US and Europe. The site lists Databricks Bronze, Snowflake Select and AWS Select partner tiers, plus ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
Its data line covers strategy and architecture, platform modernization and migration, cost tuning, and data governance and security. On Databricks it works with Unity Catalog, Delta Lake and Mosaic AI. Published results include a cloud migration for a global beauty retailer that delivered 15x cost savings and payment data processing for a bank that cut core processing time by 98 percent.
Infinite Lambda is a London data and AI consultancy that focuses on moving old data estates onto a modern stack. Its Flowline product treats modernization as software: it crawls a legacy estate, converts it to the target stack and produces a first-pass business ontology. Typical work migrates Informatica, Talend and SSIS jobs to Snowflake, dbt and Fivetran.
The firm then builds the semantic layer that AI depends on: reverse-engineered business logic, canonical metric definitions and agent-ready context on Omni. Its agentic enterprise blueprint ties those pieces together with the agents themselves. Named case studies include a data and AI modernization for AstraZeneca and a full data modernization for insurtech ZEGO.
Infinite Lambda fits buyers whose real blocker is ten years of undocumented ETL rather than a missing model.
Datatonic was founded in 2013 and works from London, Stockholm, Nyon, Barcelona and Montreal. It is a Google Cloud specialist: the site lists 12 Google Cloud Partner of the Year awards, including Google Cloud’s 2026 Country Partner of the Year for UK and Ireland and Training Partner of the Year for EMEA.
Its data work centers on a unified data and AI platform and an AI Workbench on Google Cloud, cloud data migration and managed services, and Looker analytics. Generative AI offers are built on Gemini Enterprise. Named clients include Vodafone, ASOS, Wizards of the Coast, Hotelplan and the United Football League, across telecoms, retail, gaming and media.
If your company is standardizing on BigQuery and Vertex AI, Datatonic is one of the most experienced European partners for that path.
Analytics8 is a Chicago data and analytics consultancy with more than 20 years of history and more than 1,000 clients served. It also has offices in Dallas and Raleigh. Databricks, dbt, Sigma and ThoughtSpot are its featured technology partners, and it won a 2026 AI Breakthrough Award for Data Management Innovation.
The firm starts many engagements with an AI readiness assessment, then moves to technology selection, data infrastructure and migration. Accelr8, its AI-enabled framework, speeds migrations, modernizations and platform builds. Case studies include a data modernization for EMC Insurance built with Accelr8, market access analytics on Databricks for a global biopharma company, and a Databricks platform for a private equity backed distributor.
Twistag is a Lisbon applied AI company founded in 2016. It is smaller than most firms here, with a senior team of more than 25 engineers, designers and data specialists, but it runs AI-ready data platforms as a named service line rather than a side task. Scope runs from source mapping through warehouse modernization to retrieval indexes for agents.
The stack is stated plainly: dbt, Apache Airflow and Airbyte for pipelines; Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift for the warehouse; Pinecone, pgvector, Elasticsearch or Supabase for vector storage and RAG. Event streams on Kafka or Kinesis keep CRM and ERP data in sync. Data case studies include a customer data platform that unified fan data for more than 50 sports organizations for Datatalks, and a pipeline that collected AI training data from more than 250,000 contributors for Defined.ai.
Data stays in the client’s own cloud account in EU regions, and Twistag says delivery follows ISO 27001 controls. It is an AWS and Anthropic partner. Pick it when you want one small senior team to build the data layer and the first agents together.
Datapao is a Budapest data consultancy with a UK office in Nottingham. It is a Databricks Gold Partner, holds the Databricks Champion certification, and was named Databricks EMEA Emerging Partner of the Year. It has worked with Databricks since 2016 and says all of its architects, data engineers and data scientists are certified.
Its case studies are specific. For Norsk Hydro it scaled a wind power prediction model from a single-core system to a distributed solution now running at wind farms in Norway. For EGIS Pharmaceuticals it built an Azure data platform and machine learning applications for rheumatoid arthritis treatment plans. Datapao also runs Databricks training in data engineering, geospatial analysis and Spark certification.
Choose Datapao when you have committed to Databricks and want a partner that also upskills your own engineers.
Addepto is a Warsaw AI and data consultancy. Its data side covers data engineering, big data consulting, business intelligence, and data governance and observability, plus Databricks consulting and Databricks optimization services. On the AI side it builds generative AI, LLM and agent systems and runs MLOps.
Two in-house products show where data meets AI: ContextClue for knowledge management and ContextCheck for evaluating RAG chatbots. Published case studies include a scalable AI data platform for connected vehicles, an incremental AWS migration for an ecommerce platform, and agentic RAG for enterprise knowledge bases in industrial and automotive settings.
Addepto suits buyers who want data engineering for AI and the retrieval layer delivered by the same team at Central European rates.
A data platform partner sets the limits of every AI project that follows. These questions separate firms that build durable foundations from firms that build demos.
Partner status is a real signal here. Snowflake, Databricks and Google Cloud tiers require certified staff and delivered projects. If you already run Snowflake and dbt, phData or Infinite Lambda will be faster than a Databricks specialist. If you are on Databricks, look at Aimpoint Digital, Hiflylabs or Datapao. Ask how many certified engineers will actually work on your account.
AI agents read whatever they can reach, so data governance has to come first. Ask how the firm sets access rules for people, services and agents, how it tracks lineage, and whether it uses tools like Unity Catalog. A good answer names the controls and shows where access is logged.
Clean tables are not enough. Models need business definitions, metric logic and a vector database or search index for documents. Ask whether the firm builds semantic models, embeddings and retrieval pipelines or hands that off to another vendor.
Good partners scope a short first phase tied to one use case and one metric. phData’s four-week MVP sprint and Twistag’s six to eight week proof phase are examples. Avoid open-ended discovery with no production target.
Pipelines break and costs drift. Ask whether the firm offers managed operations, how it monitors data quality, and how it hands over code and documentation if you take the platform in-house.
An AI-ready platform has reliable pipelines, a governed warehouse or lakehouse, documented business definitions, clear access rules, and a retrieval layer such as a vector database that models can query. It also logs what data each model or agent touched.
No. A well-run warehouse on Snowflake or BigQuery works for most AI use cases. Data lakehouse consulting makes sense when you have large volumes of unstructured data, need open table formats, or already run Databricks.
A focused first phase usually runs four to twelve weeks. Full migrations of legacy ETL estates take several quarters. Tools such as Flowline, SQLift and Accelr8 exist to shorten the migration part.
It helps when one team owns both, because retrieval and access rules are designed with the use case in mind. Larger enterprises often split the work. For application partners, see our list of enterprise AI development companies.
The firms on this list share one trait: they treat data engineering for AI as its own discipline, with named stacks, partner tiers and case studies you can check. phData, Aimpoint Digital and Indicium AI lead on scale and platform depth. Hiflylabs, Infinite Lambda, Datatonic and Analytics8 bring strong specialisms. Twistag, Datapao and Addepto suit buyers who want a smaller senior team close to the work.
Once the foundation is in place, the next step is connecting AI to the systems your teams already use. Our list of AI integration partners for enterprise software covers that stage, and our guide to machine learning development companies covers custom model work.
