Anubhav Mittal
VP and Global Head of Business Development and M&A, Archer Daniels Midland.
Global finance and M&A executive focused on strategy and enterprise value.
“I’ve always believed that the best strategic decisions come from combining rigorous financial discipline with a clear understanding of what creates lasting value for a business. Whether I am evaluating an acquisition, restructuring a portfolio, or supporting someone through a career decision, the question I return to is: what actually moves the needle, and why?”
Anubhav Mittal has spent more than two decades working at a consequential intersection: where financial discipline meets strategic judgment, and where careful analysis gives way to decisive execution. His career spans global public companies, complex transactions, and large-scale transformation programs, built on a foundation of rigorous technical training and refined through executive roles in corporate finance, strategy, and M&A.
Mittal’s academic background reflects both depth and range. He earned a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, graduating in the top 5% of his class and receiving multiple academic and project distinctions. That early foundation signaled not only technical aptitude, but also the analytical precision that would later define his professional approach. He went on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School with a concentration in Finance and Strategy, adding a strategic management dimension to his quantitative grounding. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Management Accountant designations, credentials that reflect both investment-oriented financial thinking and operational finance expertise.
After early career work at Booz & Company, where he advised clients on corporate strategy, go-to-market transformation, post-merger integration, and operational improvement across industries, Mittal transitioned into corporate finance and development roles at Kellogg Company. At Kellogg, he held senior positions including VP Finance for Kellogg North America and Senior Director / Director of Corporate Development & Strategy. His work spanned growth strategy, portfolio management, global investment opportunities, and a major global restructuring program. That Kellogg chapter placed him close to enterprise-level decisions with consequences across employees, markets, and operating units.
His career took another significant step when he joined Archer Daniels Midland. At ADM, Mittal served across multiple senior roles, first as VP Finance and CFO for ADM’s Global Pet Solutions platform, where he led restructuring and turnaround initiatives and supported a business that grew at approximately 20% CAGR. He later served as Chief Financial Officer of ADM’s Nutrition Business Unit, an approximately $8 billion global operation serving both B2B and B2C markets. In that CFO role, his responsibilities included commercial finance, FP&A, controlling, operations finance, strategy, and M&A, with a focus on ROIC improvement, margin expansion, and working capital optimization across a team supporting more than 14,000 employees.
Today, Mittal’s work at ADM is focused on the company’s global growth agenda. As VP and Global Head of Business Development & M&A, he leads work across acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and selected capital investments. Over his career, he has led or helped execute approximately $10 billion in transactions and strategic investments, including end-to-end work from opportunity assessment and valuation through diligence, structuring, negotiation, signing, closing, and value capture. His work has also included carve-out planning, IPO-readiness support, and enterprise capital allocation processes that help large organizations decide where to invest and where to divest.
What distinguishes Anubhav Mittal’s profile is the combination of breadth and depth. He has operated at the CFO level across major global business units while also leading corporate development and M&A at scale. His ability to move between financial oversight and strategic deal-making gives him a practical understanding of both the operating realities of a business and the investment logic behind a transaction. That dual perspective has made him a trusted partner to CEOs, boards, and operating leaders across complex multinational environments.
Beyond his professional record, Mittal is known among colleagues and peers as a thoughtful mentor and advocate for lifelong learning. He has presented extensively to senior leadership teams, investment committees, and boards on topics including M&A, capital allocation, portfolio strategy, and business transformation. He also mentors younger professionals, helping them work through business, leadership, and career decisions with the same structured thinking he applies to enterprise challenges. Outside of work, he pursues interests in cricket, table tennis, and horse riding, and contributes time to volunteering efforts aligned with his belief in creating meaningful long-term impact.
