Short answer: on an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Apple TV and tap Cancel Subscription. On any browser, sign in at tv.apple.com, select the account icon, then Settings, then Manage under Subscriptions, then Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before your renewal or trial end date. If Apple TV is not in your list, Apple One, Roku, Amazon, Google Play or a partner is billing you, and you cancel there instead.
Apple TV is the streaming service that was called Apple TV+ until October 2025, when Apple dropped the plus sign. The service is the same, the price is not: it has gone up twice in a year, and it now costs $14.99 a month in the US. That has sent a lot of people looking for the cancel button.
The cancellation itself takes under a minute. The difficulty is finding where it lives, because Apple TV can be billed by Apple directly, bundled into Apple One, sold through Roku, Amazon or Google Play, or included with a phone or internet plan. This guide covers every one of those routes, plus Apple TV channels, free trials, refunds and what to do if you are still being charged.
Apple’s own support pages say it plainly: to cancel, contact the company that bills you. Check your bank or card statement before you do anything else.
| What your statement says | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
| APPLE.COM/BILL, Apple TV price | Apple directly | iPhone or iPad Settings, Mac App Store, Apple TV box, or tv.apple.com |
| APPLE.COM/BILL, Apple One price | Apple, as part of Apple One | Settings, then Subscriptions, then Apple One |
| ROKU | Roku Pay | my.roku.com or the Roku device |
| AMAZON or Prime Video Channels | Amazon | Your Amazon account, under Prime Video Channels |
| Google Play | Play Store app or play.google.com | |
| Your phone, cable or internet bill | A carrier or provider perk | That provider’s account page or support line |
| PEACOCK, at the bundle price | Peacock, for the Apple TV and Peacock bundle | Your Peacock account |
Apple raised the monthly price from $9.99 to $12.99 in August 2025, then again to $14.99 at the end of August 2026. Apple’s own product page now lists $14.99 a month after a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. One subscription can be shared with up to six people through Family Sharing.
| Plan | US price | What you get | Renews |
| Apple TV monthly | $14.99 a month | Apple TV only, shareable with up to six people | Every month until cancelled |
| Apple TV annual | Check the price in your account | Apple TV only, paid yearly | Every year until cancelled |
| Apple One Individual | $21.95 a month | Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, iCloud+ 50GB | Every month until cancelled |
| Apple One Family | $27.95 a month | Same services, iCloud+ 200GB, up to five others | Every month until cancelled |
| Apple One Premier | $39.95 a month | Adds Fitness+, News+ and iCloud+ 2TB | Every month until cancelled |
| Free trial | $0 for 7 days | Apple TV for new subscribers | Converts to $14.99 a month |
| New device offer | $0 for 3 months | Apple TV with an eligible Apple device | Converts to $14.99 a month |
Annual billing has been offered in the past at $99 a year, and press reports put the post-increase annual price at $119. Apple does not feature the annual plan on its main product page, so treat the figure on your own Subscriptions screen as the one that counts.
Apple’s rule for every subscription it bills is the same: cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, and at least 24 hours before a free trial ends. Apple One says the same thing in different words, asking you to cancel at least one day before your renewal date.
Inside that window, the renewal can already be processing, and you may be charged for another month even though the cancellation goes through. Your renewal date is shown on the Apple TV entry in your Subscriptions list, so check it before you start. If you are within a day of it, cancel anyway and then read the refund section below.
This is the quickest route for most people, because any Apple TV subscription billed by Apple shows up here, whichever device you signed up on.
If there is no Cancel Subscription button and you see a message in red with an expiry date, the subscription is already cancelled. If Apple TV is not in the list at all, you are either signed in to a different Apple Account or someone other than Apple is billing you.
The web route works from any browser, including on a work laptop, a Chromebook or an Android phone. Apple’s help page for cancelling Apple TV lists these steps:
If the web page will not let you cancel, Apple suggests cancelling in Settings on one of your Apple devices instead. You can also manage every Apple subscription at account.apple.com, which is handy if you are cleaning up several at once.
On a Mac, the subscription lives in the App Store, not in the TV app’s settings.
On Windows, open the Apple TV app or the Apple Music app, click your name in the sidebar, choose View My Account, then click Manage next to Subscriptions. Click Edit beside Apple TV, then Cancel Subscription.
The name causes plenty of confusion here: Apple TV is both the streaming service and the set-top box. You can cancel the service from the box itself, and doing so does nothing to the hardware.
If several people use the box, switch to the profile of the person who pays first. The same menu lists any Apple TV channels you pay for.
There are two possible billers on Android, and the right route depends on which one you used.
Apple notes that a subscription bought through Google Play can only be cancelled through Google, so if it is not showing on tv.apple.com, check the Play Store before contacting Apple.
If you signed up inside the Apple TV app on a Roku and paid with Roku Pay, Apple cannot see or cancel the subscription. Roku has to. Roku calls the action turning off auto-renew.
From the Roku device itself, press Home, highlight the Apple TV app, press the Star button on the remote, choose Manage subscription and then Turn off auto-renew. Enter your Roku PIN if asked. Roku says you keep access until the end of the current billing cycle.
Apple TV has been sold as an add-on channel inside Prime Video since October 2024. If you added it there, Amazon bills you and Apple’s help page sends you back to Amazon to cancel.
Cancelling Prime itself does not always cancel channel add-ons in the way people expect, so cancel the channel explicitly. Our guide on how to cancel Amazon Prime covers the Prime side.
The Apple TV app runs on Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio and other smart TVs, plus Fire TV, Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox. On most of these, a subscription started in the app is still billed by Apple, so the cancel button is not on the TV. Cancel on tv.apple.com or on an iPhone, iPad or Mac signed in to the same Apple Account.
The exceptions are Roku and Amazon, when you paid through them. The statement table at the top settles which applies.
This is the case people get stuck on most. If Apple TV is part of Apple One, it does not appear as its own cancellable line. You only see Apple One, and you cannot remove a single service from the bundle while keeping the bundle price.
Do the maths first: Apple Music plus iCloud+ bought separately can come close to the $21.95 Apple One price. If you cancel Apple One completely, remember your iCloud storage drops back to the free tier unless you buy iCloud+ separately, which can stop backups if you are over the limit.
Apple One is cancelled by the person who pays for it. On a Family or Premier plan, other family members see the services but cannot end the plan; the family organiser has to do it.
New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Buyers of an eligible new iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV box can claim three months free, as long as they redeem the offer within 90 days and have not used a similar three months or one year free offer before. Both convert to $14.99 a month automatically.
To cancel a free trial, use exactly the same steps as a paid subscription, and do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends. A few points to know:
Apple TV is bundled into several outside deals, and these do not cancel like a normal subscription.
| Where Apple TV came from | How to stop it |
| A mobile carrier plan perk | Remove the perk or change plan in your carrier account. The Apple TV line may stay in your Apple subscriptions with the carrier as the payer. |
| A cable or internet streaming bundle | Change or cancel the bundle with your provider. |
| Apple TV and Peacock bundle | Cancel with whichever company you bought it from, Apple or Peacock. |
| Apple Music Student | Apple TV is included with the student plan. Cancelling Apple Music Student ends both. |
| Apple One | Cancel or change Apple One, as described above. |
Carrier perks change often, and some have ended. When a perk ends, the subscription can roll into normal Apple billing on your own card. If you suddenly see a $14.99 APPLE.COM/BILL charge after years of free Apple TV, that is the most likely reason, and you can cancel it with the iPhone or web steps.
The Apple TV app also sells other companies’ services as Apple TV channels, such as Paramount+, Starz, BritBox or AMC+. Each channel is its own subscription, billed by Apple, with its own renewal date.
MLS Season Pass used to be a separate add-on, roughly $99 a season, on top of or instead of Apple TV. From the 2026 MLS season, Apple folded every MLS match into the standard Apple TV subscription, the same way it handles its Formula 1 coverage, so there is no longer a separate pass to buy.
Two things follow. If you only paid for Apple TV to watch MLS, cancelling Apple TV now ends your MLS access too. And if an old MLS Season Pass line still appears in your Subscriptions list with a renewal date, cancel it there and contact Apple support if you were charged for it in 2026.
Almost everyone only needs to cancel. Deleting an Apple Account is drastic and permanent.
| Cancel Apple TV | Delete Apple Account | |
| Stops the Apple TV charge | Yes | Yes |
| Keeps purchased films and apps | Yes | No, all purchases are lost |
| Keeps iCloud photos, email and backups | Yes | No |
| Affects your iPhone, iPad and Mac | No | Yes, you lose access to Apple services on them |
| Reversible | Yes, resubscribe any time | No |
| Where to do it | Settings, then Subscriptions | Apple’s Data and Privacy site |
Sometimes. Apple does not prorate a cancellation, but it does accept refund requests for subscription charges, and it reviews each one. Requests for a renewal you did not intend, especially one you have not watched anything on, are the ones most likely to succeed.
A pending charge cannot be refunded yet, so wait for the receipt email first. If you cannot find the charge, search your email for Apple receipts to identify which Apple Account made it; a family member’s purchase has to be requested from their account.
Roku, Amazon, Google Play and partner-billed subscriptions are refunded by those companies, not Apple. A bank chargeback is a last resort: an Apple Account with a disputed charge can be restricted until it is settled.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| Apple TV is not in your Subscriptions list | Another company bills you, or you are on the wrong Apple Account | Check the statement descriptor and sign in to each Apple Account you own |
| Only Apple One appears | Apple TV is part of the bundle | Cancel or change Apple One |
| No Cancel Subscription button | It is already cancelled, or it is a family member’s subscription | Look for a red expiry message; ask the family organiser |
| Charged the day after cancelling | You cancelled inside the 24 hour window | Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com |
| Still charged after cancelling Apple TV | An Apple TV channel such as Paramount+ is still active | Cancel each channel in Subscriptions |
| A ROKU or AMAZON charge for Apple TV | You subscribed through that platform | Cancel at my.roku.com or in your Amazon account |
| New $14.99 charge after free Apple TV | A trial, device offer or carrier perk ended | Cancel now and request a refund if you did not watch |
If none of these explains it, contact Apple Support through the billing section of its help centre, with the date and amount of the charge to hand.
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Apple TV and tap Cancel Subscription. On a computer, sign in at tv.apple.com, open Settings from the account icon and cancel under Subscriptions.
Apple TV+ is now called Apple TV, so you follow the same steps. Older Subscriptions screens may still show the plus sign.
$14.99 a month in the US since late August 2026. Apple One, which includes Apple TV, starts at $21.95 a month.
If Roku bills you, sign in at my.roku.com, open Manage your subscriptions, select Apple TV and turn off auto-renew. If Apple bills you, cancel through Apple instead.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, using the same steps as a paid subscription. Check the end date on the confirmation screen, because access can stop early.
Yes. If Google Play bills you, cancel in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. If Apple bills you, use tv.apple.com or account.apple.com in your phone’s browser.
No. Apple TV channels are separate subscriptions and have to be cancelled one by one.
Not on its own. You either cancel Apple One or switch to individual subscriptions for the services you want to keep.
You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews each request and usually replies within 24 to 48 hours.
No. Purchases and rentals are separate from the subscription and stay in your library.
