Short answer: on the ClassPass website, click your initial at the top right, then Account, then Settings, then the red Cancel your membership link, and confirm. In the app, tap Profile, then Settings, then Cancel my membership under Billing. Do it at least 48 hours before your renewal date, and wait for the confirmation email. If you are on a free trial, cancelling ends your credits and bookings immediately, so wait until the last day of the trial.
ClassPass charges nothing to cancel, but leaving at the wrong moment can still cost you. Unused credits, including the ones you rolled over from previous months, disappear when the membership ends, classes you booked inside the 12 hour window still carry a fee, and a trial cancelled early shuts off everything on the spot.
This guide covers the website and app routes, the 48 hour deadline, how to protect your credits, the pause option, trials, gift and corporate memberships, and what ClassPass will and will not refund.
Most ClassPass members are billed by ClassPass directly, even when they pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay. That matters, because paying with Apple Pay does not make it an Apple subscription, and it will not appear in your iPhone subscription list. Check your statement before you start.
| What your statement or account shows | Who bills you | Where to cancel |
| CLASSPASS on a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay charge | ClassPass directly | ClassPass website or app, in Settings |
| APPLE.COM/BILL with ClassPass listed in your Apple subscriptions | Apple App Store | iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions |
| A plan set up through your employer | ClassPass, with your company funding part or all of it | ClassPass app or website, or your HR or benefits team |
| A gift membership you redeemed | ClassPass, on the card you added at redemption | ClassPass Settings, like any monthly plan |
| A ClassPass charge you do not recognise | Possibly a second account, or a late cancel fee | ClassPass chat support, see the troubleshooting table below |
ClassPass is a monthly credits subscription. You pick a plan with a set number of credits, and each class, gym visit or spa appointment costs a number of credits that varies by studio, time slot and demand. Prices depend on your city, so ClassPass shows a different price list for each location. As an example, these are the plans it lists for Columbus, Ohio in 2026:
| Credits per month | Monthly price (Columbus, OH) | Approximate cost per credit |
| 8 credits | $19 | $2.38 |
| 15 credits | $35 | $2.33 |
| 28 credits | $59 | $2.11 |
| 38 credits | $79 | $2.08 |
| 68 credits | $139 | $2.04 |
| 125 credits | $249 | $1.99 |
Big cities such as New York and Los Angeles usually price higher for the same number of credits, so treat the table as a guide and check the price shown in your own account. Every plan renews automatically each month on your cycle date until you cancel. There is no annual plan to unwind, which keeps cancellation simple.
ClassPass asks you to submit your cancellation at least 48 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next month. Your renewal date, which ClassPass calls your cycle date, is shown in your Account Settings.
Cancel inside that 48 hour window and the next month may still be billed. Because ClassPass does not refund membership months, that charge usually stands. If your cycle date is close, cancel today rather than waiting for the final day, and screenshot the confirmation.
A second timing point catches people too: unused credits expire at 11:59 PM on the day before your renewal unless they qualify for rollover, and once you cancel, every remaining credit is forfeited at the end of the billing cycle. Plan your last classes around that date.
The desktop route is the clearest, because the renewal date and your credit balance are on the same screen.
The steps are the same on iPhone and Android, because the app cancels the membership on your ClassPass account rather than through the app store.
Deleting the app from your phone does nothing to the membership. The monthly charge keeps running until you cancel in Settings.
This is where a lot of searches for “cancel ClassPass on iPhone” go wrong. ClassPass accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment methods, but the subscription is still held by ClassPass. If you open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and ClassPass is not listed, that is normal. Cancel in the ClassPass app instead, using the steps above.
If ClassPass does appear in your Apple subscriptions and your statement shows APPLE.COM/BILL, Apple is the biller. In that case:
Any refund request for an Apple-billed charge goes to Apple, not ClassPass. Removing Apple Pay or freezing your card does not cancel a ClassPass-billed membership.
This is the part most people want to know before they cancel, and the answer is blunt. ClassPass’s help centre says that once an account is cancelled you no longer have access to any unused credits, including rollover credits. Remaining credits, rolled over or purchased, are forfeited on the last day of your billing cycle.
Yes, while you stay subscribed. On most monthly plans, unused credits you paid for roll over to the next cycle, up to the number of credits in your next cycle’s plan. On a 28 credit plan, up to 28 unused credits can carry forward. Trial credits and promotional credits you did not pay for do not roll over unless your sign-up offer said otherwise.
| Credit type | While subscribed | After you cancel |
| Monthly plan credits | Roll over up to your next plan’s credit total | Forfeited at the end of the billing cycle |
| Rolled over credits | Carry forward again under the same cap | Forfeited at the end of the billing cycle |
| Top-up and add-on credits | Count as purchased credits | Forfeited, and not refundable |
| Trial credits | Expire at the end of the trial | Lost immediately if you cancel mid-trial |
| Corporate plan credits | Rollover depends on your employer’s plan | Follow your employer’s terms |
Cancelling your membership and cancelling a class are two different things, and the class rules carry their own charges. Under the ClassPass class cancellation policy:
| Country | Late cancel fee | Missed reservation fee |
| United States | $10 to $56 | $12 to $62 |
| Canada | $11 to $31 | $14 to $34 |
| United Kingdom | £9 to £37 | £11 to £41 |
Fees are shown before tax and vary by business. They apply during trials too, and they are charged to the account holder even if the booking was made for someone else. Fees can appear on your statement 5 to 7 business days later, which is why many people see a ClassPass charge after they thought they had cancelled. Clear out any bookings you will not attend at least 12 hours ahead, before or after you cancel the membership.
Sometimes, but not with a button. ClassPass describes the pause as something it may grant for unplanned circumstances, such as an injury or travel. There is no self-serve pause switch in Settings; you request it.
If a pause is granted, you are not charged and your credits are frozen for the duration. When billing resumes, you renew onto your previous plan with a fresh set of credits, and the unused credits from before the pause roll over. To end a pause early, go to Account Settings, choose Manage plan, then Resume membership. Resuming charges the membership fee immediately and moves your billing cycle date to the day you resume.
If support will not pause the account, the next best option is a downgrade to the smallest plan, which you can do yourself under Account, then Manage plan. Downgrades take effect from your next billing cycle.
The free trial follows different rules from a paid plan, and the difference trips up a lot of new members. ClassPass trials are offered in select areas to new customers only, and depending on the offer they include either one free first-time visit per participating studio or a set number of trial credits.
The practical approach: use the trial, then cancel on the final day of the trial using the same website or app steps, after your last booked class. The trial starts on the day you sign up, so set a reminder for its last day when you join.
Many people get ClassPass through a Corporate Wellness programme. Pricing, credits and rollover depend on your company’s agreement, and some corporate plans do not roll credits over at all. You can still change or cancel the plan yourself in the app under Profile, then Account, then Manage plan, or through the standard cancellation steps above.
Two things are worth knowing. Some employers send ClassPass a daily eligibility file, and if you are no longer on it, for example because you left the company or your email does not match, the corporate membership can be cancelled at the end of your cycle. And if your corporate plan is ending, ClassPass says it can move you to a standard membership through chat support, which is useful if you want to keep any credits rather than lose them.
A ClassPass gift is applied to a monthly membership that renews automatically, and the renewals are billed to the card the recipient added when redeeming it, not to the person who bought the gift. If you received ClassPass as a gift and do not want to pay after it runs out, cancel from Settings before the renewal date.
Cancelling stops the subscription. Deleting removes your personal data. Most people only need the first.
| Cancel membership | Delete ClassPass account | |
| Stops the monthly charge | Yes, from the next cycle | Yes, but cancel the membership first |
| Unused credits | Usable until the cycle ends, then forfeited | Lost |
| Booking history and favourites | Kept | Permanently erased |
| Reversible | Yes, reactivate any time | No, deletion is irreversible |
| How long it takes | Immediate request, confirmed by email | Up to 30 days after ClassPass confirms the request |
| Where to do it | Account, then Settings, then Cancel your membership | Submit a data deletion request to ClassPass support with your account details |
To delete your ClassPass account, cancel the membership first and wait for the confirmation email, then send the data deletion request through the ClassPass help centre. ClassPass says it will permanently erase the personal data tied to the account within 30 days, apart from records it must keep by law.
Generally not. ClassPass’s refund policy says it does not offer refunds for months of membership or for additional credit purchases, including top-up credits and add-on packs. Changes to your membership apply to the upcoming cycle, and ClassPass says it cannot make retroactive changes to your account. The full policy sits in section 3c of the ClassPass Terms of Use.
There are still a few cases worth raising with support:
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| No confirmation email | The cancellation did not go through | Repeat the steps, check spam, then contact chat support |
| Charged for a new month the day after cancelling | You cancelled inside the 48 hour window | Contact support with your confirmation; refunds are not guaranteed |
| A small charge weeks later | A late cancel or missed reservation fee posting 5 to 7 days later | Check your reservation history for the class |
| ClassPass not in iPhone subscriptions | ClassPass bills you directly, often through Apple Pay | Cancel in the ClassPass app or website |
| Credits disappeared after cancelling a trial | Trial cancellations take effect immediately | Nothing to recover; cancel on the last day next time |
| Charged months after cancelling | A second ClassPass account under another email | Sign in to each email you use and check Settings |
| Corporate plan ended unexpectedly | You dropped off your employer’s eligibility file | Ask HR to confirm eligibility, or switch to a standard plan via chat |
On the website, go to Account, then Settings, then click Cancel your membership and confirm. In the app, tap Profile, then Settings, then Cancel my membership under Billing. Wait for the confirmation email.
There is no fee to cancel, but you must cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Unused credits are forfeited when the cycle ends. Separately, classes cancelled within 12 hours of the start time carry a late cancel fee.
Yes. All remaining credits, including rolled over and purchased ones, are forfeited on the last day of your billing cycle. Use them before then.
Unused purchased credits roll over up to the number of credits in your next cycle’s plan, as long as you stay subscribed. Trial credits do not roll over.
Only by request. Contact ClassPass chat support with your reason. If a pause is granted, you are not charged and your credits are frozen until it ends.
Cancel with the normal steps before the trial ends. Because trial cancellations remove your credits and bookings immediately, do it on the last day, after your final class.
It depends on your city and plan. In Columbus, Ohio, plans run from $19 a month for 8 credits to $249 a month for 125 credits. Check the pricing shown for your location.
Not for membership months or extra credit purchases. Contact support if you were charged incorrectly or after a confirmed cancellation.
Cancel the membership first, then submit a data deletion request to ClassPass support. Deletion is completed within 30 days and cannot be undone.
Yes, in the ClassPass app under Profile, then Settings. Your iPhone’s Subscriptions list only shows ClassPass if Apple bills you, which is not the case when you pay with Apple Pay.
