How To Cancel ESPN Plus In 2026: Select, Unlimited And Bundles

Short answer: sign in at espn.com in a browser, tap your profile picture, then Account, then Manage Subscription, select your ESPN Select (the old ESPN+) or ESPN Unlimited plan and tap Cancel, then confirm. Do it before 11:59 p.m. Eastern on the day before your next billing date. If you pay through a Disney+ bundle, cancel on disneyplus.com instead; if Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon bills you, cancel there.

Cancelling ESPN Plus got more confusing in 2025. ESPN+ is now called ESPN Select, a second and pricier tier called ESPN Unlimited sits above it, and four in five Unlimited subscribers get it inside a bundle with Disney+ and Hulu. The cancel button lives in a different place depending on which of those you have and who takes your money.

This guide covers every route: cancelling directly on ESPN, the Disney bundle, Apple, Google Play, Roku and Amazon billing, the ESPN and FOX One bundle, annual plans, pay-per-view purchases, and the difference between cancelling your subscription and deleting your account.

First, Check Who Is Billing You

ESPN’s own help centre is blunt about this: if a third party bills you, ESPN cannot cancel it for you. Find the charge on your card statement and match it here.

ESPN Plus Is Now ESPN Select

On 21 August 2025 ESPN launched its own direct-to-consumer streaming service with two tiers. Existing ESPN+ subscribers were moved automatically onto the lower tier, ESPN Select, at the same price they were already paying. The ESPN+ name still turns up in some apps, menus and billing descriptions, which is why so many people still search for how to cancel ESPN Plus.

If you only want to drop from Unlimited to Select, you do not need to cancel. Use Manage Subscription on espn.com to switch plans instead, and your Select access carries on without a gap.

How Much ESPN Costs In 2026

ESPN raised prices for the first time on 17 September 2026. These are the US list prices after that increase. Promotions and price holds vary, so the figure on your own account page is the one that counts.

    PlanMonthlyAnnualBilled by
ESPN Select (formerly ESPN+)$13.99$139.99ESPN or an app store
ESPN Unlimited$31.99$319.99ESPN or an app store

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select (no ads on Disney+ and Hulu)$32.99Not offeredDisney+

Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited (no ads)$44.99Not offeredDisney+ or ESPN
ESPN and FOX One bundle$39.99Not offeredESPN or FOX

The rise on Select from $12.99 to $13.99 is what pushes a lot of people to cancel. If you watch a single sport for one season, a monthly plan you cancel at the end of it is usually cheaper than keeping Select all year.

The Deadline That Decides Whether You Get Charged

ESPN, Disney+ and Hulu share one subscriber agreement, and it sets a hard cutoff: you must cancel before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before your next billing date. Cancel on the billing date itself and that month’s charge has already gone through.

    • Find your billing date first. It is on the Manage Subscription page on espn.com, or the Subscription page on disneyplus.com for a bundle.
    • Mind the time zone. The cutoff is Eastern Time. If you are on the West Coast, that is 8:59 p.m. your time.
    • App stores use their own rules. Apple and Google generally ask you to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Leave a day of margin on Roku and Amazon too.

Paid subscriptions keep working until the end of the period you already paid for, so there is no penalty for cancelling early. Cancel the moment you decide, not on the last day.

How To Cancel ESPN Plus On The Website

This is the route for anyone billed by ESPN directly, which covers most people who signed up on espn.com. Use a computer or a mobile browser; the TV apps do not offer a cancel button.

    1. Sign in at espn.com. Use the MyDisney email and password you subscribed with. It is the same login as Disney+ and Hulu.
    2. Select your profile picture in the upper right corner.
    3. Choose Account under Manage My Account. Some versions show this as Subscriptions or Manage with MyDisney.
    4. Select Manage Subscription, then the subscription listed under Plans and Billing.
    5. Pick the plan you want to cancel. If you have ESPN Select and an add-on such as MLB.TV, each is listed separately.
    6. Select Cancel and work past any offer to switch plans or stay at a discount.
    7. Confirm the cancellation and screenshot the screen that shows your end date.

If there is no Cancel option, or no subscription shows at all, someone else is billing you. Go back to the table at the top.

How To Cancel ESPN Plus On iPhone When Apple Bills You

If you subscribed inside the ESPN app on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, Apple holds the subscription. The charge reads APPLE.COM/BILL, and ESPN cannot end it.

    1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
    3. Select ESPN (or ESPN+ on older subscriptions).
    4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

On an Apple TV, go to Settings, then Users and Accounts, then your account, then Subscriptions. Deleting the ESPN app does not cancel anything, and Apple, not ESPN, handles any refund request.

How To Cancel ESPN Plus On Android Through Google Play

    1. Open the Google Play Store app.
    2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
    3. Select ESPN.
    4. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

The same applies to Google TV and Android TV devices, which bill through the same Google account. Uninstalling the app leaves the subscription running. If ESPN is not listed in Play, you are billed directly and should use the website route.

How To Cancel ESPN On Roku, Amazon And Other Devices

To cancel an ESPN subscription on Roku, it has to have been bought through Roku. If you signed up on espn.com and only watch on a Roku, use the website route instead.

    1. Go to my.roku.com and sign in, then open Manage your subscriptions.
    2. Find ESPN and select Unsubscribe or Cancel subscription.
    3. Or, on the TV, highlight the ESPN channel on the Roku home screen, press the Star button, choose Manage subscription and then Cancel subscription.

Amazon Fire TV and Prime Video: if Amazon bills you, ESPN cannot process the cancellation. Sign in to Amazon, open Memberships and Subscriptions (or Prime Video Channels in your Prime Video settings) and cancel ESPN there.

Smart TVs, Xbox, PlayStation and other devices: these almost always use your ESPN or Disney billing rather than their own store, so cancel on espn.com or disneyplus.com from a phone or computer.

How To Cancel The Disney+, Hulu And ESPN Bundle

This is where most people get stuck. The bundle is one subscription, usually managed by Disney+, so the ESPN website may show your access but no Cancel button. ESPN’s own help pages point bundle subscribers to the Disney+ Help Center.

    1. Sign in at disneyplus.com in a browser with the same MyDisney login.
    2. Select your profile, then Account.
    3. Select the bundle under Subscription.
    4. Choose Cancel Subscription to end all three services, or the option to change or switch plan if you want to keep some of them.
    5. Confirm and screenshot the end date.

You cannot remove ESPN from the bundle and keep paying the bundle price for the rest. Cancelling the bundle ends Disney+, Hulu and ESPN on the same date. To keep Disney+ or Hulu without ESPN, switch to a plan without ESPN rather than cancelling, and note that changing plan ends any promotion or price hold you had. Our guides on how to cancel Disney Plus and how to cancel Hulu cover the plan switch in detail.

If you subscribed to the bundle through Hulu + Live TV, the ESPN part comes with your live TV plan. ESPN directs those subscribers to Hulu’s help centre, and dropping ESPN means changing or cancelling the Hulu + Live TV plan itself.

ESPN Through FOX One, Cable Or A Phone Carrier

Live TV services work the same way. If you are leaving one of them for ESPN, or ESPN for one of them, our guides to cancelling Fubo and cancelling YouTube TV cover those deadlines.

    Cancelling An Annual ESPN Plan

Both ESPN Select ($139.99) and ESPN Unlimited ($319.99) come as annual plans, and the rules for them catch people out.

    • Cancelling stops the next renewal, not the current year. You keep access until the year runs out, and you are not refunded for the unused months.
    • Cancel early in the year. There is no reason to wait. Cancelling in month two still gives you the remaining ten months.
    • Switching from annual to monthly takes effect on your next billing date. ESPN says you get a prorated credit at that point, so switching is a way to stop the next big annual charge while keeping ESPN monthly.
    • Watch for the renewal email. Annual plans renew at the then-current price, which after September 2026 is higher than many people originally paid.

Is There An ESPN Plus Free Trial?

Not as a standing offer. ESPN Select has no regular free trial, and ESPN states that its Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundles currently have no free trial either. Trials do appear through partners, most notably a one-month ESPN Unlimited trial for MLB.TV subscribers.

If you are on a trial, two things matter. First, cancel before it converts, using the same Manage Subscription page. Second, expect to lose access immediately: ESPN’s help pages say removing a trial ends ESPN straight away, and the subscriber agreement says cancellations on a free trial or promotional credit may take effect at once.

    Pay-Per-View And UFC Purchases

Pay-per-view events are one-time purchases, separate from your subscription. The subscriber agreement says they are charged at the time of purchase, and cancelling ESPN Select or Unlimited does not refund them. In practice, PPV buys are treated as final once the event has been made available to you.

For years UFC numbered events were the main reason people bought ESPN+, because you needed an active subscription to buy the PPV. That ended with the 2026 UFC deal: UFC moved to Paramount+ in the US and dropped the pay-per-view model. If you only kept ESPN+ for UFC, there is no longer a reason to keep it. Our guide to cancelling Paramount Plus covers the other side of that switch.

If a PPV stream failed and you could not watch the event you paid for, contact ESPN support through Contact Support in the ESPN app settings. After past outages ESPN has offered replays rather than refunds, so ask specifically for a refund if that is what you want.

    What Happens After You Cancel

    • You keep access until the end of the billing period. ESPN says you keep the subscription until the end of the current cycle and are not charged again. Trials and promotional credits are the exception and can end at once.
    • Your ESPN account stays open. You can still use the free ESPN app for scores, news and free content. Only the paid streams lock.
    • Bundle cancellations hit everything. Disney+ and Hulu end on the same date as ESPN, and downloads on those apps stop working.
    • Add-ons are separate. MLB.TV or other add-ons may keep billing unless you cancel them too.
    • Your favourites and settings stay with your MyDisney login, so resubscribing later picks up where you left off.

Cancel ESPN Plus Or Delete Your ESPN Account?

Searching for how to delete an ESPN account usually means someone wants the charges to stop. Cancelling does that. Deleting is a much bigger step, because ESPN uses your MyDisney login, the same one behind Disney+ and Hulu.

    Cancel subscriptionDelete account
Stops ESPN chargesYes, from the next billing dateOnly if you cancel first
Keeps the free ESPN app, scores and fantasyYesNo
Affects Disney+ and HuluOnly if you cancel a bundleYes, the login is shared across Disney services
Stops app store billingOnly if you cancel in that storeNo, the store keeps charging
    ReversibleYes, resubscribe any timeNo
Where to do itespn.com, Account, Manage SubscriptionThrough Disney’s privacy and account help pages

If you do want the account gone, cancel every paid plan first, including any Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon subscription, and wait for the confirmation. Deleting the account does not reach into an app store, so a store subscription would keep charging with no account to watch it on.

Can You Get An ESPN Refund?

Usually not. ESPN’s help centre says it does not offer refunds or credits for partially used billing periods, and the shared subscriber agreement says the same while leaving room for case-by-case exceptions at Disney’s discretion. There are a few situations where it is worth asking:

    • You were charged for a renewal you clearly tried to stop. If you have a screenshot of a cancellation made before the deadline, contact ESPN support and ask for a discretionary refund.
    • You were charged twice. A common case is paying ESPN directly while also getting it through a bundle or a TV provider. Cancel the duplicate and ask for the overlapping charge back.
    • An app store billed you. Apple, Google, Roku and Amazon handle their own refund requests. Apple’s is at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google’s is in your Play order history.
    • Your TV provider lost ESPN. If a carriage dispute took ESPN off YouTube TV or another provider, any credit comes from the provider, not from ESPN.

Leave a chargeback with your bank as the last resort. It can lock the account, and support usually resolves a documented cancellation faster.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel my ESPN subscription?

Sign in at espn.com, select your profile picture, then Account, then Manage Subscription, choose the plan and select Cancel. Bundles cancel on disneyplus.com, and app store subscriptions cancel in that store.

How do I cancel ESPN Unlimited?

The same way as ESPN Select: Manage Subscription on espn.com. To keep cheaper access, switch to ESPN Select there instead of cancelling.

What is the difference between ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited?

ESPN Select is the old ESPN+ library at $13.99 a month. ESPN Unlimited adds the live ESPN TV networks and costs $31.99 a month.

How much is ESPN Plus now?

ESPN Plus, now ESPN Select, is $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year in the US after the September 2026 price increase.

When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?

Before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before your billing date. Earlier is fine; you keep access until the period ends.

Can I cancel ESPN and keep Disney+ and Hulu?

Yes, but not by cancelling the bundle. Switch plan on disneyplus.com to a Disney+ and Hulu option without ESPN.

How do I cancel ESPN on Roku?

If Roku bills you, cancel at my.roku.com under Manage your subscriptions, or press the Star button on the ESPN channel and choose Manage subscription. If not, cancel on espn.com.

Does deleting the ESPN app cancel my subscription?

No. Billing continues until you cancel on espn.com, disneyplus.com or in the app store that bills you.

    Can I get a refund on a pay-per-view event?

Generally not. PPV events are one-time purchases charged at checkout, and cancelling your subscription does not refund them. Contact support if the stream failed.

I get ESPN through YouTube TV. Do I need to cancel anything?

No ESPN cancellation is needed. ESPN Unlimited comes with your provider package, so any change, credit or refund goes through YouTube TV or your provider.

For every other service in one place, start with our guide on how to cancel subscriptions online. These cover the streaming services sports fans most often stack on top of ESPN:
